Angela Merkel is getting L A I D tonight.
I don't understand why people compare Moonshake to Public Image Ltd.
because the best stuff tends to be pretty obscure sadly
Generally the idea is that most of the time good underground artists will get picked up and break through into the mainstream. Even though having that attitude makes you a hipster, i'd tend to agree. Especially with the bucketloads of good content buried on soundcloud.
it's because most good musicians aren't very social people and generally prefer to play their instrument 1000 hours per week instead of properly trying to make a name for themselves
it's because most good musicians aren't very social people and generally prefer to play their instrument 1000 hours per week instead of properly trying to make a name for themselves
It's not even that tbh, musicians are lucky these days because there's a mass of social media sites they can use to upload their music to and plug. They can just post their stuff and let other people promote it for them.
true but they still need to choose the right channels, create an image for themselves that appeals to the right crowd, etc.
I'd argue that the major hurdle is the first one. Can anyone here say they honestly browse soundcloud artists with less than 50 follows? You have to be really, really proactive about it. Post it in places like this, post it on /mu/, post it in youtube comments proclaiming to be a talented struggling 13 year old hip hop producer. Although i'm not exactly an musician myself by any stretch of the imagination. It's easier, but not easy.

It's easy to find unknown artists through other unknown artists because there's a culture of support in place.
If that exists i'd want to listen to it.
Then you're in luck because I described an actual thing.
this is really good thanks for showing me this
More people need to know about TV Girl. They're genuinely incredible.
That was really good. [editline]14th July 2014[/editline] Listening to main TV girl discography right now (first two EPs, The Wild The Innocent The TV Shuffle, Lonely Woman, and French Exit). Thanks for showing me this. I'll be sure to tell my friends who like this kind of stuff.
That's pretty much the order you should listen to their music in. French Exit is a bit different from their last releases but it's still pretty good.

I wish I was able to get that Death Classic shirt that Death Grips had years ago. I always wanted it, but never got it and now I can't :( I bought this nifty shirt though. [img_thumb]http://images.cdn.bigcartel.com/bigcartel/product_images/140556247/max_h-1000+max_w-1000/IMG_7176.jpg[/img_thumb]
Franke will probably disagree a lot with me, but Take This To Your Grave is FOB's best album.
Death grips shirt has holes in. Need to preserve that shit
I was distraught when I thought my mum had ruined my Das Racist T-Shirt by throwing it in with my new green shorts. Threw in some vanish though and it turned out fine in the next wash.
Nope, just you.
