I'm gonna plug a bro's music. Seems like it's still all in the early stages, but I think it's sounding about right. He busts his ass, so I thought I'd try to send some traffic his way. https://soundcloud.com/bonkzonevets/stayed-down-1 https://soundcloud.com/bonkzonevets/f-w-c
Anyone here happen to know a good, reasonably priced audio editing software that can be used for sampling/mixing/general music creation? I'm mostly just looking for something to dick around with at the present time, since I've been listening to way too many Neil Cicierega tracks and want to do something similar.
My band just confirmed our first gig :)

What's some good music to play on Audiosurf?
Congrats but where's ur soundcloud bruh. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline] Well your soundcloud is right there but does your band have one yet?
Old demos are around somewhere, but at the next practice (monday) we're gonna record a quick in room video and post it up because there's nothing on the page. We suffered badly from rotating members and just turned into a two piece. Everything we had recorded has been trashed basically. Still kept the songs, just tweaked them a little. Vocals, baritone guitar, drums.
After being up for 18 straight hours, working a solid 7 hours running around a bar and getting only 6 hours sleep I can safely say: I'm sleep.

Is this YouTube upload slowed down, or is the album I have downloaded sped up? Cause mine is noticeably faster. [editline]20th July 2014[/editline] It's really bothering me.
Its true
i'll meet you at tescos m8
i'll meet you at tescos m8
die antwoord are honestly pretty terrible if you ask me. And I've given them fair chance. imo their music only works as a soundtrack to their videos. Which isn't inherently a bad thing if that was what they're going for.. And I suppose it kind of is, considering they market themselves on their image, but considering they label themselves first and foremost as musicians and release albums of their music to buy it comes off like the music itself is their best aspect-- but it's not. It only works when it has video to accompany. Different aspects don't need to work independently if they form a cohesive whole in a multi-platform art piece, but there's no real indication that that's what they go for. In fact it's more the other way round. The way they work is just the same as any other rap group except they have a gimmick of being weird. There's nothing that really gives the idea that their music isn't intended to be good on its own or that there's some bigger idea going on. I mean you can actually compare Death Grips and Die Antwoord in a bunch of ways- both strange hip-hop collectives blending out there genres to form something new, coming from the internet, and having really out there and surreal music videos (but in Die Antwoord's case it's really just weird shock value, whereas Death Grips are far more cerebral and emotionally engaging- Death Grips' videos and music also form a way better and more cohesive whole than Die Antwoord's.) I'd also argue that Death Grips achieve everything I said that Die Antwoord failed in. They have fantastic and interesting music with great videos that accompanies the music perfectly and encapsulates everything going on, and I'd actually say Death Grips do function as a multi-media artpiece, they are not far off performance art (i think they actually said something along these lines in their farewell letter) and they show it both in their anti-conformist music and videos which almost work as industry and mainstream critique, which is an idea enforced by them being totally independent, releasing their stuff for free, and when they did sign to a label they leaked their own album with an album cover featuring Zach Hill's dick as if to say fuck you. Die Antwoord are just pseudo-weirdos with a gimmick making boring rap music and nothing interesting to say or do. Death Grips rise way above that in just about every aspect. [editline]21st July 2014[/editline] cant believe i just made a serious post about music here ugh :/
