loads of games on it with solid gameplay and replayability, it's great. the controller is very comfy too & you can fit it in a normal backpack
It's the only reason I still keep a Wii around. Nintendo made a great move keeping in the backwards compatibility there.
It's the only reason I still keep a Wii around. Nintendo made a great move keeping in the backwards compatibility there.
I still like playing my Gamecube games on my Gamecube for nostalgia purposes.
I honestly never played GameCube in my life Nobody I ever knew owned one. I owned a gamecube controller for my wii but apart from that i've never touched anything to do with a gamecube apart from playing multiplatform games on the ps2
Okay... Go down to your local NES/SNES/PSX/old games store and buy yourself a copy of Super Mario Sunshine. And then play it. [editline]22nd December 2014[/editline]
I still like playing my Gamecube games on my Gamecube for nostalgia purposes.
I would if I still had a CRT, but it's almost unbearable on this 50" plasma. The Wii supports 720p through component, though, so it makes it tolerable.
I'm tempted to but like, I dunno I still actually have to play SMG2 and from what I know it's the best 3d mario platformer to date. The first was fucking fantastic And Super Mario 64 is my candidate for anything you could consider to be "THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME" which is completely subjective but that game is just literally flawless
Super. Mario. Sunshine. Seriously, it's a fantastic game, and you really won't regret playing it. It's nothing like any of the other 3D Mario games, either in style or gameplay.
I would if I still had a CRT, but it's almost unbearable on this 50" plasma. The Wii supports 720p through component, though, so it makes it tolerable.
I tolerate it. It's a sacrifice I've been forced to make. I actually ordered an S-video cable, but was unaware my TV didn't have a S-video port. Luckily i have a component cable for my PS1/PS2 games though.
2 months from now I can finally listen to this track without being a hypocrite
just listen to it forever
I'm just gonna be that guy and say that I don't like Super Mario 64 much because it's aged horribly and the camera pisses me off Then again, I loved the old Banjo-Kazooie games. So I'm likely a hypocrite
idk super mario 64 is nice and all but best game of all time? nah. there's no such thing. it's just the game you have the strongest (emotional) connection with. for me it's wind waker because of the atmosphere, the music and how much I played it as a kid. childhood games are always better in your memory because as a kid you imagine a lot of shit around it and it plays quite the part in your memory of the actual game even if it is subconscious
Donkey Kong was my jam
donkey konga was my jam, literally

I still remember spending hours exploring the sea in order to find everything. Then there was the giant tower that rose from the ocean which was one of the coolest moments in any game.
I was too stupid to ever get off the first island. Haven't played a LoZ game since.

My favorite Nintendo game is probably Earthbound. Probably the pinnacle of turn-based RPGs for me, aside from maybe Persona 4. As for my favorite game ever? Probably Deus Ex
but to be honest I don't dig the same things I did a year ago, let alone longer so I don't really know the same counts for most things; music, food, people, thoughts, etc. the only thing I want to like my whole life is person I am
My no.1 game is Kingdom Hearts 2 tbh, played through it about 4 times a year back when I went to school [editline]23rd December 2014[/editline] PS2 best console of all time sorry Nintendo
The best part about these are they're all 240p lmao
this one is a thousand times better
legend of zelda ocarina of time is the best game ever its the whole reason i tattooed a shitty triforce on my left thigh that i will probably regret one day
the only beef I have with mgr is that the collectibles are way too easy to miss, I thought I checked every dust particle and I don't even have 1/3 of all that stuff
You just have to search for them, it's not that hard. Also watch Chip & Ironicus's lets play of it for PRO STRATS and other assorted info, in addition to that it's also very entertaining to watch. [editline]23rd December 2014[/editline]
If we're talking about MGR it was a great game until the final boss. Mostly due to him being unfair as far as gameplay goes, but also because plot. I'll go into detail if any of you actually care.
Oh man no. He's a great fucking boss in so many ways and you just need to get good. Also who cares about the plot, you save [sp]brains with googly eyes[/sp] and collect left hands for a german doctor called Doktor. The plot does what it should, progresses the game and has entertaining characters while also being in the metal gear universe. [editline]23rd December 2014[/editline]
Okay... So I'm likely a hypocrite
No problem man, it's just the first 3D platformer that did it well. You don't have to enjoy it at all anymore, just appreciate how it was the first proper one. Just like I don't like any of the Zelda games, but I appreciate them for what they are.
I only played super mario 64 for the first time this year and I thought it was really good, camera is outdated and a bit irritating but the level design js stellar and honestly amazing considering it's the first ever proper 3d platformer Ocarina of time I also played this year but I've not finished it yet. I've done the fire temple I think. Not got round to finishing it but it's pretty good
The N64 controller is horrible
The N64 controller is horrible
A bigger abomination than the OG Xbox controller with its huge size and awkward white/black buttons. But fuck the N64 controller is still an abortion of a peripheral, the analog stick is shite and breaks easily. The L button is useless because almost none of the ~340 games on that console use the D-pad thus making the left side handle completely useless.
Oh jesus christ.
im a piece of shit
N64 in general is one of the dumbest succesfull consoles. In the age of CD's they opted for outdated cartridges that really held it back. It had accurate 3D rendering but textures were complete ass. The only reason that thing stayed alive was 1st party Nintendo games, it was literally riding on their legacy. Just like Wii U right now. I only played dark souls recently and it sticks out as one of the best games I've ever played. Also bayonetta. I played bayonetta 2 but I think I prefer the first one. It seemed a lot more coherent, plot wise, like 2 was all over the place. And of course it had Fly me to the moon as the theme song.
Dark Souls is really great but the more I play it the more I notice the flaws- I did put about 300 hours in before I got tired of it though and I still like 2 play it every now and then. very good game Bayonetta I have on PS3 and I've played a bit of but im so annoyed that it is not 60fps in fact it struggles to hold 30 (as in it rarely if ever during action reaches 30) which makes it a lot harder to play/enjoy. Ive only done like 90-120 mins of it so far though
dark souls is great fun but too easy once you know how every enemy behaves and how to approach / react to them
I play age of empires 2 a lot with my friends. I love that game [editline]23rd December 2014[/editline] also warcraft 3 is my favourite game ever. all my friends hate it tho, which sucks coz its so good for LAN parties coz it actually possesses a LAN feature.

Can kill in a few hits so if you fuck up just a few times you're done while the rest of the bosses allowed for at least some error. I'm not complaining about the reason you're fighting him, I'm complaining about the fact that he's the final boss. [sp]You barely see the guy throughout the entire game and then suddenly he's the final boss. It's sort of like they tried to recreate Volgin's character from MGS3, a just plain evil guy, but forgot to include all the buildup that made you really see the need to fight him. Instead it's just, "hey remember that Senator Armstrong guy we saw like once and mentioned about three times? Well yeah he's the final boss, okay?[/sp]
