gy!be show up in seattle in september, should i go y/n
this is a no brainer [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
speaking of Earth, I've been meaning to look into drone - what's a good place to start?
Sun O))). Fulci is also pretty good too. I reckon Pentastar is Earth's best album.
My favorite Earth album is either Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions or Hibernaculum, can't quite decide which is better. Haven't listened to Pentastar or Hex yet, though.

Hey guys, I didn't think it was a good idea to start a thread so I'll ask here instead. I went to EDC Las Vegas and Ultra 13. I love electronic music and it was great seeing so many good artists all in Las Vegas and Miami. It's gone to the point where I wish to create some of my own music. But I have a question. Does anyone know a good software that is decently priced and good to make some good EDM (electronic dance music), Drum and Bass, and House music. I'm using a Mac and Garageband is the least I'm going to use to make music with.

I prefer Pro Tools.
Pro tools isn't as EDM friendly as FL
Fruity Loops would have a lot better rep if people actually learned how to use it instead of using its default sample packs
Keith Jarrett fucking plays the shit out of a piano.
Earth 2's pretty good. [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] or if you wanna start softer, there's this band called Planning for Burial which is like drone/shoegaze and that's a good entry way to the genre I think. It's pretty sad stuff though, so watch out.
Yeah, I've heard of Planning for Burial through Enemies List. I'll listen to Leaving and Earth 2 at some point this week.
Sun O))). Fulci is also pretty good too. I reckon Pentastar is Earth's best album.
Alright. Sunn is a familiar name to me, but Fulci isn't. I'll check them out as well. Thanks!
Have a good week all!
Boris also makes some good drone, like Feedbacker, Flood and Altar (with Sunn O)))) Atleast I think they're drone
Altar and Dronevil and Absolutego are the only "pure" drone albums. Rest take influence from drone and shoegaze and noise and stoner rock.
Atleast I think they're drone
Boris have never really been ambient though, I'd say they're more noise than drone.
Boris also makes some good drone, like Feedbacker, Flood and Altar (with Sunn O)))) Atleast I think they're drone
I have Altar and Flood but haven't listened to either. I'll get around to that as well.
Altar and Dronevil and Absolutego are the only "pure" drone albums. Rest take influence from drone and shoegaze and noise and stoner rock.
Dronevil is very different, seeing as you're meant to play the discs simultaneously, this whole other experience comes through. I don't see why anyone would listen to the drone side or the evil side by themselves though, maybe the evil but it's one package to me.
Buy a synth and a drum machine. FL is for uninspired musicians most of the time.
"Buy a synth and drum machine" Yes as if we can all afford to do that and don't even get me started on the fact that a DAW does not define a musician lol
