lots but still, the original product is what i prefer, if it's shit it's shit. [editline]7th June 2013[/editline] new Suede album is good but the mix is so poor.
well yes but you don't get the original product ever, all mixes are affected by the technology you employ to listen to them, correct? so in that case EQ is like a way to balance it out closer to how the audio engineer intended it is a way of perceiving it
I really wish spotify had hotkeys. And an equalizer. It's a nice service, since you can find so much shit there, but it is severely lacking in features
http://www.2shared.com/file/odq22oxT/Spotify.html CTRL + UP: Pause CTRL + DOWN: Copy info about track to clipboard (artists name and songs title) CTRL + RIGHT: Next song CTRL + LEFT: Previous song ALT + UP: Raise volume ALT + DOWN: Lower volume I'd recommend putting the script in your startup folder.
but the "original product" will be different depending on the equipment you're using anyway??
Yeah, it's still the closest thing to what they want you to hear. And don't most engineers test mixes on below par/ordinary equipment anyway?
Yeah, it's still the closest thing to what they want you to hear. And don't most engineers test mixes on below par/ordinary equipment anyway?
Actually testing mixes on below par/ordinary equipment is a staple technique of engineers to making sure their music sounds good, it was one of the first things I learnt at uni - there's no point something sounding perfect on good equipment if it sounds shit on shit equipment because most people listen to music on shit equipment its like another technique is to pan the snare slightly to the right because the right speaker is in the driver seat in a car and they want the strong beat to come a bit closer to the driver
its like another technique is to pan the snare slightly to the right because the right speaker is in the driver seat in a car and they want the strong beat to come a bit closer to the driver
That's dumb because cars can be left hand drive too...
The driver seat is on the left?????? oh right you guys live in opposite land [editline]7th June 2013[/editline] everyone knows radio mixes are hella gay and fucked up
That's dumb because cars can be left hand drive too...
Yeah its not a foolproof concept and depends on country tbh I imagine most american engineers do it panned to the left but hey whatevs
The driver seat is on the left?????? oh right you guys live in opposite land [editline]7th June 2013[/editline] everyone knows radio mixes are hella gay and fucked up
you can't disagree with facts, AK'z.
you can't disagree with facts, AK'z.
dude you live in a country which has the balls to make this: therefore you have no right to comment who is opposite. :o) is cool though.
I don't see any need to EQ unless you really have a preference. The audio engineer knows best :)
Not the ones who record live shows
