In that case, I'll let this fan kill itself with pleasure. In the summer nights this thing was keeping me out of my sleep because the whole time I hear ZNG ZNG ZNG ZNG How about I get a Westinghouse Cyclone Chrome fan? I like the look of it, it seems to be quiet if I read the reviews (well such people aren't always very informative), it seems to perform very well. Only downside is it doesn't have a light kit, but I might put a universal one in there, or install the light kit of my current one.
http://www.bigassfans.com
[thumb]http://puu.sh/508Dc.JPG[/thumb] [thumb]http://puu.sh/508D5.JPG[/thumb] Self nocked arrows for my longbow. These are my first batch of self nocked arrows. I've got some some more where I need to araldite (two part epoxy) the horn onto the shaft, clamp it, and leave it overnight. First three arrows have 6 ½ inch length flight, and the fourth arrow has a 4 inch flight, the shafts are 32 inch in length.

Helped my dad build some shelves and frame out a wall. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QEMxk7F.jpg[/img_thumb] Er... oops. That wheelbarrow is a bit wider than the door.

Or.. Turn the wheelbarrow sideways?
Anyone know a good anvil or anvil substitute for cheap/free? Gonna do some blacksmithing soon. Also probably going to build a small coilgun with a friend soon.
Or.. Turn the wheelbarrow sideways?
Or just screw the top off it
Or incorporate the wheelbarrow into the design of the room

http://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/20370-the-55-forge-blueprints/ I've heard people use railroad rail for anvils. Stuff's pretty cheap, and you can find it in surplus if you've got a major rail center in your area. I also trust you've got an Oxy-Acetylene torch to cut it down to size. Here's a tutorial on how to build a rail anvil: http://www.instructables.com/id/Railroad-Track-Anvil/ My advice for the track? Find an abandoned factory. A lot of them used to use rail vehicles for intra-factory transportation. With the Candoro Marble Factory in my area, there are bundles of excess rail that the company never used. People chop bits off and sell it for scrap all the time. If vandalism's not your thing, you might want to look around your local scrapyards. They've probably got some old railroad stuff lying around. Also, these guys are really informative and helpful. I know it's Reddit, but they know their stuff: http://www.reddit.com/r/blacksmithing
Thanks mate, I'll check it out soon. Been meaning to get out to a local scrapyard but I keep having things to do

Did you reinforce the nocks for authenticity reasons or are you shooting a heavy bow?

Hickory backed red oak English Longbow, don't know the weight because my scale only goes to 50lb which this exceeds at 24", feels like a monster at full draw. There are tillering issues that need to be fixed though, I think it bends too much in the handle.
Beautiful. Did you reinforce the nocks for authenticity reasons or are you shooting a heavy bow?
I'm using them on my 45lb English Longbow. The nocks will need reinforcing, so I used horn, however I have made 3 which only use string to reinforce the nocks and they work just as well. [t]http://puu.sh/56WrX.jpg[/t] These are the ones I did without the horn and I just used string, sorry you can't see the string whole because I put heat shrink tubing around all my nocks, this is for NFAS rules (fire from 3 pegs, 1st red 2nd white 3rd blue). I'm thinking of selling these types of arrows for £20 per arrow. My current English Longbow is 45lb at a 28" draw.

Either raw track pieces or cut. They work fairly well too. All comes down to how the anvil is secured. More mass and do everything to keep the anvil from ringing or moving around.
Problem is, i'm living in a pretty shitty area so there aren't really any big sales that i could find something like that at. I live in a town that used to be bustling with car factories and a good time back they all up and left and this town basically died so there isn't anything here that's very supportive of odd hobbies. [editline] November 3, 2013 [/editline] I even checked places like Tractor Supply and they didn't even have any idea of where to send me for hints. And even if i did go to a scrapyard and find some rail, there's no one around with a torch to cut it to my knowledge.

Car factories almost always had rail lines into their facilities. Go down there and scout it out.
Got the first plans for my self build house from the architect. Made a bunch of notes to share with him this week.
His and Hers en-suites, behind what I'm assuming are closets? Now that's clever... I can't help but notice you've two rec rooms in the basement... It'd be interesting to see what you do with those. A game room for yourself, and one for the kids?
I quite like the study, and the whole outdoors bits. And you've got more toilets than you can ever possibly need, smart move. edit: I'm serious.
If I ever have the luxury of building a house, I'd like to have two toilets for every person. Always good to have room for expansion.

The cinema seems the wrong shape/size. I'm gonna have my office down there too I think, rather than upstairs. So I can lock myself away and make as much noise as I want.
I understand that this is a personal question, so feel free to ignore, but I was just wondering, do you live off the money from GMod or do you have a different income? I've wondered this about a few Indie developers.
GMod
Garry I heard that your wife had the idea of Garry's Mod? Is that true? Could just be a stupid rumor but I feel like the man himself should prove me wrong.
Jesus christ Garry you could house half of Facepunch in there.
Would 3.7 volts make much of a difference powering something that uses 3 C batteries? And would the amount of amps matter much either?
Would 3.7 volts make much of a difference powering something that uses 3 C batteries? And would the amount of amps matter much either?
Depends and... depends.
