god damn man, cable management lol
Yeah... :v: I have to take it all apart shortly to change some stuff about so I wasn't too bothered about doing it neatly!
Do you have a filter to put over that fan? I'm not an expert or anything, but I'm pretty sure lint and dust will get trapped inside your PC if you don't do something about the fan. Even if its blowing hot air out, when it's off dust can still gather inside. Most PC guides on the internet say that dust will cause more problems then a lack of airflow.

Cut one out earlier today actually  Thanks for the tip.
I hope I can get some help from people who know stuff about electronics. http://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/bw-vehicle-headset-h267-sem-used/18867 Was looking at these headphones and was thinking if it was at all possible to make them work through jack? If this is the wrong place to ask, feel free to ignore me then.

Reasoning inductively, if you just run speaker wire from a male 3.5mm connector, you can probably drive the speaker cones off the same cables you'd run normal headphones on.

You wouldn't just attach the wires of a big speaker cabinet directly to the 3.5mm jack. It may require amplification of some sort. ALso I suspect the sound quality is likely to be rather poor either way.

I looked them up a lot and found these pages with pictures of the connectors. I'm sure it'd be possible to make them work, but they'll sound terrible for music. They're probably massively bandwidth limited and have a weird frequency response to accentuate talking voices.
So I'm refurbishing a drum set of mine. Finished getting all the wrap off and now it's time for sanding, sanding, and more sanding. And a little sanding too.
Well, right... But we're talking tiny little headphone speakers.
The example was exaggerated to make a point. The point being not all speakers are the same, especially older ones. New headphone speakers are usually lightweight and fairly delicate and dont require much current to drive, I suspect these will require somewhat more. The connector part is probably fairly simple to figure out but the rest of it could be tough, especially if the impedance doesnt match.
Well to be honest, probably doesn't matter anymore, the page 404s.
I don't exactly know how this happened, but in the past 24 hours my keyboard project has gone from nearing completion to "the final hours" and I didn't even notice I was this close. Now "the final hours" is a tiny stretch as I probably have about 16 hours of case printing left and won't be able to do all that today/tomorrow due to work but I'm still in shock that this whole thing has suddenly just come together after 3 years of talking about it and never getting anywhere.
I really need to post pics of the "in-progress" acoustic guitar I am building...same issue hahah. [editline]29th March 2014[/editline]
I've found myself in possession of some 1/4" plexi; what's some cool shit I could do with it?
Make router jigs for doing cool stuff, like cutting perfect circles, I mean lots of cool stuff to do with it. Case mod for pc?
A quick question, my headphones are dying. Only the right one works, unless i wiggle the wire near the connector and find the sweetspot. I'm thinking of soldering a new jack on, but the problem is that the wire just looks so thin. [T]http://shrani.si/f/3P/GA/3yQQsHDK/2014-03-31-231634.jpg[/T] There should be 4 wires in there, right?

What you will probably find is actually it's 2 wires with a wire braid shielding which is also the ground.
braid shielding? any tips on separating the shielding from the wire?
There will be an insulator around each wire. It won't be difficult.
Made my second Laser-engraver. now with 300x200mm working area. its just a test, i have to finish the Z axis for focussing. i can cut white paper (very slow, because absorbtion) and dark plastic sheets like trash bags. and engrave wood. total costs: below 100€ (some used parts like wood and draw slides)
My first real woodwork project, learnt a lot along the way, tri-monitor stand: [t]http://s16.postimg.org/iibxy6c85/2014_04_05_21_32_57.jpg[/t] [t]http://s16.postimg.org/itteaxso5/2014_04_05_21_33_21.jpg[/t] Only cost £21.50, not bad considering some multi monitor mounts run into the hundreds.
I'm working on a small solar tracker thing which will hold a bunch of solar panels [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43645231/photos/electro/2014-04-06 00.51.24.jpg[/t] now to get the solar panels :v: the little bar held up by the two things will be replaced by the solar panel array once I get it done. I put it that far on the front as the solar panels will most likely go over the servo, thus balancing stuff out and centering the load above the servo. [editline]5th April 2014[/editline] I kinda didn't check the specs of the servo, but it actually is much better than the other ones I bought earlier. lower power use, much higher torque, metal gears (brass?) instead of plastic (makes turning them into continuous servos more difficult, but I won't modify these anyways)

So, I just bought these: [t]http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Craft-Matchsticks-10-000-/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/J80AAOxyBjBTPrAS/$_12.JPG[/t] Since a kid I've always wanted to make a boat, ideally a Tall ship called the Ark Royal from 1588. I'm still waiting for the sticks from be delivered so the plan of what to build can change. Has anyone here had any experience with matchstick building? I've done pretty much no research on what to do or how to build a boat so any tips would be very welcome.
Built a rain barrel stand yesterday, it doesn't look great but it gets the job done. There will be a second barrel daisy chained to the system on the right, that is why the platform is so large. [t]http://i.imgur.com/SZbJJoC.jpg[/t]
meh, i get bored and i drawed a missing texture on one of the wall in my room (yes i know, shitty cellphone photo, i wasn't finding the camera)
I'll post some knives i've made on here tomorrow if I get pictures and if I remember.
I made a small workbench/cutting station.
My solar panels arrived, here they are mounted on the servo [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43645231/photos/electro/2014-04-16%2023.00.10.jpg[/t] Centre of mass should be fairly right above the servo. All left to do is add a converter and some electronics for sun tracking, but I need some stufff for that which I don't have. [editline]17th April 2014[/editline] they look dirty and shit due to the protective layer I left on them. It reduces performance a bit but I'll keep it on just in case.
I also made an Arduino box [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43645231/photos/electro/2014-04-18%2020.40.36.jpg[/t] It has plenty of space inside for a board or something.
All my WIPs at the moment:
