It requires skill and a lot of time. Also, I personally prefer maya to 3ds max, mainly because I find the interface lets me work with faces and vertices much quicker. The append to polygon tool is also miles ahead of the cap holes modifier in 3ds max...

I haven't tried Maya but I guess there's no harm doing so. I ended up paying £20 for one book, It's a good book since it takes you straight into 3ds max and doesn't bother telling you how to use 3ds max and it's perfect since it assumes that you already know your way around (Which I do) and dives straight into the important things all the way through making your own textures.

wow. here's the problem jack if I were running a company, and someone said they 'planned' on getting hired by me, it would make me not want to hire them. I think most business owners can understand why Plan on applying. Also note that there are only openings for a web designer & web developer at this time

There's load of companies in the UK, I'm just saying Garry's one if favoured by me since it's nearby and a small company, anyway ignore compwhizii because he's just being a prick and assumes I've only just started and I'm using these books to learn. I have him on my ignore list yet he continues because he's really immature and I doubt he's added the last messaged where I told him that I've been using 3ds max for years and the book was for filling in gaps and teaching a few other things. Also to the people PMing me for the game, I've only got the coding and brushes for the fist level done since I was actually working on a game before this one but ended up changing my mind and then when I started this one my Uni Course was about to start, but It works and It's a small game like many small games on steam. And anyway it doesn't matter because I'm working on a portfolio and my game and those will be shown to any near by company (I'm near quite a few) including Garry's if he starts needing a modeller. By the way I'm 17 so I still have years to improve my modelling and to work on my game.

Honestly, no one gives a shit about anyone's signature other than their own so it's just tons of wasted space that you have to scroll through and ignore in order to read threads.

I can't stand forums which have signatures which you can put pictures in, it's pointless. Only signatures I don't mind are ones which just have a sentence in, like a quote or something, but it's still pointless. We have avatars, and that is all we need.
