Shouldn't you be racing in office chairs right now?
Shouldn't you be racing in office chairs right now?
With who?
You had quite a few jobs and you're 27. I figured that on my own. Still, this enables you to actually lead a midsized company how?
I'm not going and taking over a random company. This is my company - I know how to run it - and I'm the best qualified person since I've been running it since it existed.
ITT: Loads of kids that don't understand how companies work
Who've you got working for you now, or is it the same small group as was posted on facepunchstudios.com?
This makes me a stakeholder. Hooray!
you go girl
I'm well aware of the fact that your money gives you a great freedom and many people surely admire you for that. I'm just kind of questioning your skills of actually leading a company with all that belongs to it when it's not just a bunch of indie developers working for fun anymore. I'm pretty sure you'll sort it out eventually but you might just need some experience in managing so this doesn't go down the shitter in an instant. Of course you have done a perfect job so far, seeing all the moneys you made but you're going to a new level here. Good luck anyway
Congratulations Garry. You are setting the right inspiration for everyone here on facepunch.
So... What are you guys thinking of doing with it?
So... What are you guys thinking of doing with it?
Probably Garry's Mod 2.
Probably Garry's Mod 2.
Probably Garry's Mod 12.

ITT: people who've never visited the programming section any regulars there know what's being worked on
Enterprising Future Garry's mod. EFGmod :v:
I'm pretty sure he dropped the numbering?
Wait, first of all I doubt he's even going to make a new Garry's Mod, it would sell significantly low since GMOD 10/11 is still selling good. That's the thing, what difference is he going to produce out of this "office" he bought.
ITT: people who've never visited the programming section any regulars there know what's being worked on
Is this about this GWEN Stefani thing
I don't care I just want you to strap 2 fire extinguishers onto one of those office chairs and record yourself speeding across the office.
And out the window into a field of mattresses. Office work sure is fun :downs:

I think you'll find it's a lot harder to make something when people are making it for fun. They get bored then don't want to carry on making it. People that work for you have a lot more invested, so can't just walk away when they get bored - because it's their job. That said, I dunno why it can't be fun too. I also don't see any possible way it can go down the shitter in an instant. Unless I get tricked into buying some magic beans for £500k?
Is this about this GWEN Stefani thing
No it's about his own game engine/making games with it.
I already posted office pics on my blog..QUOTE] Is it bad that I want to lay down and roll around on that bare carpet?
That's the thing, what difference is he going to produce out of this "office" he bought.
Well right now he's making his own Game engine and with the office/studio it should help boost the production of it.
We need pictures of the office. RATE ME BAD READING.
No it's about his own game engine/making games with it.
The botch thing? Garry makes to many acronyms it confuses me
I want a 100mbit line :frown:
I want a 1/1 Gbit connection :haw:
I also don't see any possible way it can go down the shitter in an instant. Unless I get tricked into buying some magic beans for £500k?
Brb, got "something" to do.
These reasons are pretty famous why companies fail http://www.1000ventures.com/business_guide/12reasons_brc.html Most of them apply in this case, especially 1-3.
1. Inadequate planning of the business 2. Inadequate planning of the business 3. Inadequate planning of the business 4. Insufficient initial capital for start-up period and development stages due to inadequate planning 5. Mistaken estimate of market demand for product or service 6. Lack of management ability 7. Failure to select and use appropriate outside professional advisors 8. Inability to market product or services effectively 9. Over dependence on a single individual or on a predicted specific event 10. Failure to understand capital requirements of a growing business 11. Poor timing of expenditures due to poor planning 12. Expedient rather than reasoned decision-making
Just posting fyi (everyone technically)

You do have your points and i fully understand. You seem to be confident as fuck about this anyway so further arguing is kinda pointless. I'm looking forward to see how Facepunch Studios will progress.
Good luck with the company.
It makes me laugh that people are moaning about the new office and telling him how to do things. Are these people that jealous he has actually made money from creating a game? People that are moaning about stupid things must be 9 years old and upset that the game they made on Game Maker failed hard. Edit: Inadequate planning? I guess you can see everything garry's doing then.

Your office is located right next to a Vodka bar. Code while hammered and sickled.:ussr:
