hello rayven, fellow 04er
I've been here for most of it! And I'm only 23...
Facepunch is one of the first major forums I joined (well, lurked) after Half-Life 2 came out and it's been a big part of my (internet) life since. Seen a lot of people come and go and I'm sure I'll see many more. Thanks everyone!
I agree entirely. Signed up a long time ago and have lurked every day since, with the occasional post. Love reading everything people post. Edit: I found a Facepunch member from my hometown once. He was a cool guy.
I've learned many of the things I know about Photoshop, coding, 3D design, and more here. Also learned a lot about the world in general, the diversity here is nice. It's been a good 5 and a half-ish years for me, I don't intend to leave any time soon.
I'm half-way between fondness and regret about all the time I've spent here.
hello rayven, fellow 04er
I think you me and Garry are the only ones I see nowadays that still post from 04 with any sort of regularity, even then not all that much..
This forum has been a great place for me to visit, I've found alot of my niche interests satisfied along with a bunch of cool guys I've meet (Specifically the EE thread and Maker Mates subforum). All in all, a professional and fantastic few years on here. Stay Golden Facepunch.
I've spent way too much time on here.
I've spent way too much time on here.
Maybe, but wouldn't have met you if you didn't. [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
I still recall looking back at my first post on here, a topic asking whether to purchase the PS3 or Wii. That's now 8 years ago.
When I look back at the near decade that I've spent coming here all I can think of is "where the fuck did I go wrong?"
I just though about how much has happened in my life during the ~8 years I've been here. I found out facepunch when I finally got a pc that could run stuff and was looking at cool games to get on steam and found out gmod which IIRC then required facepunch account for most stuff
Man so many lurkers saying hi I haven't seen this many other blue members who have been here 5+ years like myself.
I've got fond memories of the days of the smartness system, when you actually accumulated the ratings that people gave your posts, of earning the Lua king status, and of releasing maps and addons for Gmod. I don't post as much as I used to but I love this forum, it's always the first thing I check when I open my browser in a morning. Reading this thread has given me a warm feeling. [IMG]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/IMG] Now, if only someone would reply to my thread in the PC building subforum, my day would be made!
Been lurking pretty much since I registered (Other than some dumb posts at the beginning). Don't know what I would have done all these years without this site.
fellow lurker. crazy how time flies.
Member since 2007, permabanned three times. Facepunch has made me realize how glad I am that I was because I'm not stuck with those terrible usernames anymore. This place makes me nostalgia-trip all the damn time, so much of my life has been based around both FP and the GMod/Steam metaverse. So many friends and enemies, so much fun and drama. It's depressing and uplifting at the same time. Wouldn't have found out so much about myself that I have if I never came here. Here's to another 10 years!
FP was my second place where I kind of set up shop on the internet and became my permanent home. I've made friends here, and surely some enemies. FP still is a major hub for my entertainment and news and internet socializing. If anything, FP contributed to my life in that it did help me to socialize a bit, and through constant bickering on SH also helped me to develop my worldviews and how to approach them and interact with others in that area. It also made me pretty cynical towards certain types of people, unfortunately, but I think the internet in general can do that to you. I've had more laughs than I can remember and so much fun on FP. It's been a source of stress, emotion, relaxation, and hilarity. Happy 10th FP. Here's to another couple.
glad that I can browse dank memes without being banned for absurd reeasons unlike in other forums vbulletin has to become open source, this place is beautiful
I attribute my typing skills and English skills to Facepunch 100% it's been an interesting 5/6 years
Pretty sure I probably wouldn't have ended up learning programming if it weren't for Facepunch. Happy birthday Facepunch!
What happened to the archived posts? Is it synonymous with deleting? I wanna see 'em.
I would probably end up drinking myself into a coma if i would realise how many hours i have spent on this forum...
This is the first time i've been back here for years, anniversary coincidence? I think not. Will I make another post apart from this one? I don't know. Also programming bores the shit out of me, I didn't learn english here, and in fact I would like to think that I learned absolutely nothing from this forum. Cheers to FP, and Garry I suppose.
happy birthday buttpinch.org
05er, been here for awhile, I can't believe I've been here for almost 10 years. Here's to another 10 years! (Of Flagdog not working for me) Cheers!
bring back 1-5 ratings for threads garry plz
I joined back in 2008, lurked since roughly the second half of 2007. I'm 21, so I've been browsing FP for about a third of my life. That's fairly significant, I think. Facepunch is pretty awesome. I love you guys, may we be here for a good long while.
I love you guys
