I remember going on FP all the time in high school and had dropped out of the loop when I started college and the WAYT thread stopped making a new thread everyday. Nevertheless, I still comeback once in a while and it is nice to see the community that helped introduce me to interests that made me who I am is still up and running.

And oh my god, a website that allows you to have an opinion actually has their opinions and expresses them, well I never! Also, for a forum that's nearly 50,000 members strong (albeit quite a few of them are probably alts) of course you're going to get some arseholes, the base number of which only ever grows as more people join. The mods do as much as they can to get rid of, or alter the behaviour of people who post rather extreme views, or do stuff illegal etc etc, but the best thing you can do is report stuff that you think fits that category, the mods can only do so much without the userbase stepping up and reporting stuff.

Reddit has the exact same problem, hell I'd say this isn't just a problem of the internet, it's everywhere.

Garry would be insane if he didn't make a new version of his flagship title for the new era, seeing as how Source 2 will probably feature the modding capabilities of Source and the advanced technologies of the current gaming generation. Originally, Facepunch used to be meant for Facewound, but it quickly became known for GMod instead. Now, it's more of a general games forum, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a shift towards the next version of GMod once it is presumably released.

I remember starting to post more frequently because gold was ending for postcounts/years and was becoming paid exlusive. And i've been stuck here ever since. Why won't Facepunch let me go? :(

I remember when there was a two strike rule for racism, no questions asked. Now you can find people with 5 bans for xenophobia/racism again and again and they're allowed to stay posting. The moderation team is going in the wrong direction; more worried about banning puns and "stay on topic" in SH than they are about racism elsewhere. Though, I think there's always been a large number of pro-gun people here.

it's weird to think that I've been here for 3 anda half years, that seems like such a small amount of time compared to the people that have been here for 10, but honestly, these last few years have really shaped me as a person. Here's to another ten years!

Huh. Didn't realize it's creation date was a day after mine. Well to celebrate, I'll try to be more active, ditching the long time lurker habit. I wasn't as active because I wasn't sure how I'd fare, if I'd be able to enjoy posting, but the discussions here are great, and I regret not joining in sooner.

Ohh Facepunch. The first couple years were a bumpy road for you and I. Being 12-13 is a bitch... to others. I discovered Facepunch upon the release of Garry's Mod 9. I had become interested in GMoD due to me seeing GMoD 8. The name struck me "Garry's Mod", wtf kind of name is that for a game?" and somehow from there I had found Facepunch Studios. I can't remember all the accounts I made over time, there were plenty but I believe my first account that I ever made or alteast my dominant account back when I was 13 was "BOOMAN". I don't know if any of you remember that account or know of it but I was an annoying twat lets just say. But over time of growing up and lurking more. I'd say i'm now a good normal user now. Facepunch, even though you have some dickheads here and there, I <3 you. You're the best kind of forum there is.

i wouldnt say facepunch has had a big impact on my life, but it has been a good time killer when procrastinating. only thing is im becoming more weary of the idea of getting used to sinking loads of time into forums when that time spent could be put into doing something productive instead of reading and writing posts that i probably wont remember in a day anyway. the more productive sections like mapping and programming i have learned plenty of things from, though.

FP has been the only forum i actively post on since who the fuck knows.
