Firefly
Firefly
Firefly

I love this show. So very much. Fuck you Fox for ending it. Fuck you.
Léon: The Professional.
Fucking amazing film with a young Natalie Portman and Jean Reno. Seriously watch this film.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/
V for Vendetta
Based off the comic book really good film.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/
Clue
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088930/
It's based off the board game and is surprisingly very good. All of the characters are very funny and Mrs. White in particular has some amazing one-liners. This is the only one I have to recommend, seeing as everyone else has already recommended most of my favorite movies (this is like, my 3rd favorite movie). It's also fun trying to figure out who the killer is.
Reservoir Dogs.
Boondock Saints.
Fight Club.
One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
Léon: The Professional.
O' Brother Where Art Thou.
Gran Torino.
Taken.
The Usual Suspects.
28 Weeks Later.
Three Kings.
Listen to JohnnyMo, Firefly is amazing. Also, Sopranos. And Ronin for amazing car chases.
And Snatch.
Casino
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112641/
It's based off of a true story on the mafia back in Las Vegas during the 70's or something like that. It's a long film, but also really great.
I'm not There
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368794/
If you like Bob Dylan's music, I'd recommend this movie. It's a bit experimental since different actors play Dylan in the movie. And it's based off of his songs, which is pretty interesting.
2001: A Space Odyssey
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/
Probably not a movie for everyone, since there's no action and it's very slow. But nonetheless I recommend this film to any film lover.
Slumdog Millionaire
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1010048/
It's pretty much a story of a man playing "Do you want to be a Millionaire?", but with a unique twist as each question ties in with his life. Great movie.
Pulp Fiction
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/
If you haven't seen this yet, you have to. It's multiple stories that tie in eventually at the end. From some hit men all the way to a boxer, it's funny and also very entertaining with some classic quotes.
L.A. Confidential
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119488/
A movie based off some detectives back in the 50's, where there is much problems with the mob and the corrupt police force. It's a good movie if you like noir movies and such.
I could list so many more, but those are some pretty good ones.
I've always enjoyed Lord of War...

It's a really important film, but I couldn't stand this movie. Not in this day and time. It was quite unbearable to sit through.
The IMDb community wouldn't know a good film if it came up to them, bent them over and fucked them in the ass while pouring molten metal bowels.
Even though most of the movies on the list are good. You'll know what I mean when you really start looking over the community.
This man speaks the truth, the majority of the community there is full of nothing but retards. Those movies on the list are good, yes, but don't restrict yourself to just those of course.
Here's a random few to keep you busy:
This Is England
Signs
Gladiator
Lost In Translation
Grandma's Boy
Terminator 1 & 2 (maybe even 3)
Clerks 2
Fanboys (just came out, hilarious.)
A Scanner Darkly
Children Of Men
Zack & Miri Make A Porno (quite funny, plus you can never go wrong with anything Kevin Smith, see Clerks 2.)
Hard Core Logo. It's a road movie about a band, directed by Bruce McDonald, an awesome Canadian director.
Con Air is one helluva awesome movie.
Bill and Ted excellent adventure is one of my favorites
Pearl Harbour tbh, although its not entirely about war, well it sorta is with the action scenes and that but has a love story behind it. In my opinion you gotta see it, heck it even made me sorta cry at the end lolll

There's more of that like 20-30 mins more, I won't show anymore as its best to watch the whole film to understand the ending
Directed by Michael Bay who did Transformers, Bad Boys II and the upcoming 2012 film. Was also co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer who helped produce the Pirates of the Caribbean films including 4th one coming, National Treasure films, the new Prince of Persia film and some CSI:NY episodes

I wholeheartedly agree with this, I've seen it like 4 times now.
how has no-one thought of this
I like any sci-fi films except for Starship troopers, BSG, Star Trek or any of that bullshit.
Starship troopers is excellent if you want a semi-mindless action movie (Neal Patrick Harris is in it, awesome.). Both BSG (the re-imagined series, not the original) and some of the Start Trek series are awesome shows; I would definitely give the new BSG a try, if nothing else. It's one of the best Sci-Fi shows I've ever seen. Brilliantly written and very good acting.
Edit: Oh! and FIREFLY! Firefly is THE best TV show that I've ever seen.

O' Brother Where Art Thou

This. It's a fucking awesome adventure/comedy movie based around the (40s, 50s?). Pretty cool how they derived a lot of main points of the story from an old book called The Odyssey.
i'm not going to bother posting good movies since most of them have been posted and I don't want to check if they have (even though I'm still going to mention Pan's Labyrinth if you haven't seen it because it's fucking genius) but i completely agree with whoever posted on the first page that you should rent
Arrested development:

and if you can watch Six Feet Under, because it's the best show i've ever seen all the way through.
