Dog Day Afternoon Reservoir Dogs (you'll love it or hate it) Citizen Kane (same deal, usually if you love Reservoir Dogs you'll hate it and vice versa but somehow I liked both) North by Northwest Vertigo Falling Down Moscow on the Hudson (love or hate, usually the latter) Chasing Amy Clerks 1 and 2 Brazil (very weird) Fight Club Night of the Living Dead (watch it now, it's a public domain movie) Dawn of the Dead (Land of the Dead sucks, the remake of DotD I head is iffy and so is Day of the Dead) Shawn of the Dead 28 Days Later
Meh, Aliens and Eternal Sunshine was mentioned already. Movies that weren't mentioned already: Blade Runner The Fifth Element Stardust (If you're into movies like that) Stargate Memento (If you like mindfuck)
Um didn't you see the GIANT Fifth Element poster I posted?
Waltz With Bashir. Great film, deals with the hell soldiers go through for the sake of war. Naked Gun's a great laugh, those films are just nuts. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a good film. There's Snatch, and Rock'n'Rolla too, they're good. Same sort of thing, same director, and although the story's pretty much the same in all of them, they're all worth watching anyway. The Big Lebowski, this film's pretty crazy, but man it makes a good laugh. Reservoir Dogs is an awesome film, Quentin Tarantino ('Nuff said :v:). Scanner Darkley's decent too. Usual Suspects, this film's extremely clever, but very little can be given away without spoiling it. 28 Days Later's an excellent film, but the sequel 28 Weeks Later is pretty shitty. So ignore the second.
No, it isn't. It was a GOOD movie, but there are MUCH better.
Finally, someone with some fucking sense. Dark Knight was decent. Nothing more. In a few years, everyone will have forgotten all about it and that'll be the end of that.

I almost never hear somebody not practically praise TDK that isn't in film.
Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, Se7en, Spinal Tap, Titanic, Ben Hur, Modern Times, Gold Rush... So many many movies but I strongly recommend you to watch Chaplin's films. Two last ones of the list are his films.
Jacobs Ladder Shawshank Redemption Terminator 2 Rocky Horror Lethal Weapon series Any Clint Eastwood movie Troy Gladiator A Clockwork Orange Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs The Patriot Braveheart Edward Scissorhands Saving Private Ryan Escape from New York Escape from L.A. Metal Gear Solid (see what I did there?)
If you really love films, you should buy 1001 movies you must see before you die. It's a book which contains 1001 movies and lots of text about every film. Every film lover should have it, I personally do. And The Dark Knight is awesome, Heath Ledger was superfabulous in the movie.
An american TV show that got cancelled due to low viewing figures or something. But it's most probably the funniest TV show I've ever seen.
Analrapist

First Blood and Face/Off.
No, it isn't. It was a GOOD movie, but there are MUCH better.
Yeah whatever. This topic is about good films and dark knight is one.
Um didn't you see the GIANT Fifth Element poster I posted?
You fucking ninja'd me xD
Yeah whatever. This topic is about good films and dark knight is one.
I never denied that bro. I started saying this when "TDK. /thread" was said. There are much more movies out there that somebody should watch before they watch TDK, and they should NOT see it thinking that it's going to be some epic mindblowing movie that won't make any other movie seem good.
You fucking ninja'd me xD
I'm just good like that lol. Got another good one! Dark City but make sure it's the directors cut! It's really good if you like suspense/action films.
Modern Times, Charlie Chaplin silent film, funny and is still relevant today. A day at the races: Hilarious Marx Bros. movie. The great dictator: Another chaplin movie making fun of hitler. Mind you this was made DURING Nazi's reign, so he's basically telling hitler to eat a dick. The Absent Minded Professor: the original version of "Flubber" with Robin Williams. Any of the Evening with Kevin Smith dvds. Even if you don't like his movies, these are basically him telling hilarious stories about his past, and him meeting celebrities.

Oh and the piece da resistance, the film that has made more impact on me than any other. It's what Stalker the video game ripped its idea from a little boring at parts but an amazing piece of work by Andrei Tarkovsky. It's called Stalker (1979) AND It is a truly amazing film! I made a separate thread from my suddenly remembered favorite so looky here for more info: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=15445873#post15445873
Insomnia (imo)Really good suspense filled thriller. With Robin Williams as the quiet psycho. I saw him and still half expected him to be funny. I think that made his character more menacing. The Dish I'm not sure if anybody here will like this. It's about what happened during the Apollo 11 mission, at the Australian radio telescope that received the video footage. If you like subtle comedy and science you may like this.
The Mummy 3 The Time Machine Meet Dave
Watch Taken for some seriously fucking badass action
The Time Machine Meet Dave
Umm...
Oh, by the way, every Wes Anderson film in existence is pretty much brilliant. Bottle Rocket seems a bit like an amateur attempt, but it's got that Anderson spirit - keep in mind that this was before he had fleshed himself out as a producer. You can still definitely tell that his movies were going to make a move towards Royal Tenenbaums.
pineapple express.
Dr. Strangelove
Just wondering, are you in film at all? I almost never hear somebody not practically praise TDK that isn't in film.
"In film"? I enjoy a decent film sure, if that's what you mean. :P Edit:
No, I mean like writing\filming\editing etc.
Oh, I have done, but it's not a huge interest of mine nowadays. But even so, I do try to admire genuine creativity. So I credit music for it's melodic value, decent lyrics, etc. Despite not playing any musical instrument, for example.
One of my personally favorite movies, it contains deep philosophy and a brilliant execution of it with a mixture of other pleasant things to understand and look at: [img_thumb]http://socioblogsg.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/brazil.jpg[/img_thumb]
it's got TERRY FUCKING GILLIAM directing it, you better watch it bitches
