Good to see uni students utilising best methods of referencing, that's a question from my astronomy class.

I've never done any formal astronomy and it took me far less than a minute to find the formula to determine that. AND I AM A HUMANITIES STUDENT. I hope that she is just a very rare outlier.
Utterly clueless, are they in the GM15 lecture theatre?
not sure. im a monash student, so i've only been there for a few non-uni related lecture type things.
I wish I did Astronomy. And I wish I did Philosophy. Anywho, back to my Contracts readings. :saddowns:
I wish I did Astronomy. And I wish I did Philosophy. Anywho, back to my Contracts readings. :saddowns:
Are you doing a BA or just straight LLB?
I wish I did Astronomy. And I wish I did Philosophy. Anywho, back to my Contracts readings. :saddowns:
You can switch over, don't worry  I'm thinking of switching to a straight up science degree at Melbourne or Monash at the end of semester/year. We'll see. However it may be better to continue the degree I'm doing now and then simply do a Ph.D in theoretical/mathematical physics. That way my bachelors would be applied, my Ph.D would be theoretical. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] I need to stop drinking so much :/ Drinking an entire glass of scotch a night can't be good for me. I just finished a glass like 30 minutes ago and though to myself, "holy shit, that's the equivalent of 8 glasses of beer, or TWO LITRES of beer... in the space of an hour." I can't wait until this scotch is gone. Then I won't have any more to drink.
Do you feel superior because you go to Melbourne Uni?
Nope.
I tend to hang around with the pseudo-marxists simply because they're not shitheads. Sure, they may want to incite a revolution, but that'll never happen, and in the mean time they're reasonable, friendly people.
The Socialist Alliance I presume? How do they justify it will ever happen anyway?
How do they justify it will ever happen anyway?
Workers will crack shits, get rid of government. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline]
The Socialist Alliance I presume? Find the centrists consortium and be apathetic about everything
The other one, Alternative. The problem is that they believe so much bullshit, like Labor being quite different from the Liberals, or that the 1999 East Timor intervention was about peacekeeping.
So I went to the Swimming Carnival today. There were only fifty people there. Out of the whole damn school. Lazy bunch of fucks.

I've been thinking of doing astronomy and I'd love input from someone that's doing it. Also hypocritical because I had a lecture there yesterday. But still true.
What campus is that?
What campus is that?
Parkville, but it's at the far south end off Barry street.
so many earthquakes

It's pretty interesting, you get a bigger picture of the world around you though some bits may bore you, Aka telescope calibration graphs :frog:
Are you doing a BA or just straight LLB?
Law and Journalism. I want to switch to a BA/Law though.
Law and Journalism. I want to switch to a BA/Law though.
Are you able to do that at semester 2, or is it different because you're doing a double degree?

[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
Are you able to do that at semester 2, or is it different because you're doing a double degree?
First year for any Law degree is full time Law in the first year, regardless of the other part of the double. So no matter what, I'm stuck with Law for a year.

What're you planning on doing after undergrad?
Guys. I think this potato salad I'm eating expired. I haven't planned that far ahead yet, Contag. I'm incredibly impulsive, I even did Law on impulse.
Working on impulse is good sometimes, helps you to not over think shit.
this still amazes me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyatt_Roy
A pretty significant hell, it seems. What're you planning on doing after undergrad?
I'm Scottish; of course I'm going to drink scotch! Just finished the bottle (woo! I don't need to drink any more for a long time now (yes, I'm happy to be rid of my alcohol!). Had 1.5 glasses tonight (equal to 12 glasses of beer (5.2632 pints). But it's finally gone. And why does everyone thing physics is such hell? :saddowns: It's interesting. I love it.

Gravity is a bitch, which makes me its bitch. I trip and stumble more in a day than I can count.
The only thing I enjoy about physics is my Einstein Plushie next to my pillow. Gravity is a bitch, which makes me its bitch. I trip and stumble more in a day than I can count.
Pfft, you think gravity makes you it's bitch? Walk up to a wall (or crouch down on the floor), and push against it. Can you go through it? No! you know why? Because you're ELECTROMAGNETISM'S BITCH! The electrons in the atoms in your body are like, "LOL NO" to the electrons in the atoms in the floor/wall and repel each other, hence you can't go through the wall/floor. Gravity is weak! WEAK! Electromagnetism made you its bitch long before gravity did.
Great ;-; So I'm getting raped by both electromagnetism and gravity on a daily basis. One more good thing about gravity I enjoy is... Friction :3:
