That's ridiculous, I knew scores of people who would've failed immensely if they had continued their secondary education. Academia isn't for everyone, and such measures will only waste the time of teacher and student alike.
I greatly dislike the laws of Victoria. Another example?
I could fly a plane, solo, with my Private Pilots License when I was 16, but I wasn't able to drive.
apparently planes aren't as dangerous :downs:
apparently planes aren't as dangerous :downs:
less fatalities per km than driving cars
I feel like the odd one out, am I the only one in this thread still at school?
I'm still in school as well, Year 12, doing my HSC and getting an ATAR.
I'm so glad I'm done with all that BS.
High school really is a joke.
But don't mess up the HSC, that'll screw you over for life.
Also, I just came back from the beach. It was so lovely :3:
Some guy that was jogging behind me while I was taking Charlie for a walk pretended to fall and twist his ankle.
He was limping on the wrong foot, which I pointed out.
Funniest moment in my life.
For this week.
Is it me or has it been hot today? Also anyone doing anything for long weekend?
You live on the beach?
God, high school was terrible.
Horrible stories time!
Is it me or has it been hot today? Also anyone doing anything for long weekend?
Fairly hot, just been blasting the AC.
Studying. Studying some more. Looking at the suggested reading list and wondering what sick person is able to read 20 lengthy academic texts a week for only one subject.
Most horrible thing that happened to me in High School... was constantly being screwed over because my family had to elite status or connection from the school. Since I'm from another country.
I missed out on being Art Prefect because I didn't have any connection to the underground art world. Which I do now.
My teacher also had a vendetta against me, so my artwork, which took minimally 80+ hours to do, got a mark lower than that of some bimbo bitch in my class who knows nothing about art, who did a digital photography work on "drugs" where she just took photos of her friends in compromising, slutty, poses and edited them on photoshop.
I hated high school.
And yeah, the beach is down the road from my house :3: I love it.
This summer was the best, I got an awesome tan.
Oh god, you did art? The amount of horror stories I've heard regarding folios...
I received a C on the first semester of International Studies on my ATAR. At about 9.30 in the morning my teacher called and, started raging and asked if I had seen it, because I achieved a score of 100/100 that semester.
It took about a week for it to be corrected.
Are you the daughter of a diplomat?
Haaaaaaa I hate HSC Economics, well and prelim as well but HSC even more
Too much theory to remember, oh boy I'm definitely going to do well
[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
Surprisingly though I do business as well and it doesn't want to make me want to smash something into bits
HSC Business Studies is even worse than Economics, in my opinion. I didn't study Eco though.
I did 4 unit English, Art, French, Biology, Maths (Until halfway through year 12) and Business studies.
Am I the daughter of a diplomat?
I wish, that'd be so cool.
I'm the daughter of a safety Engineer and a Nurse.
My family moved to Australia from South Africa in 2004. English is still my second language though, and I aced English in the HSC :3:
Also, the folios (we call them VAPD's, Visual Arts Presentation Diaries), weren't as bad as the Folios for Woodworks and DnT and stuff.
They only look at the VAPD's if the markers think that you've infringed on copyright, or did it at the last minute or something.
Do you have the awesome accent?
Do you have the awesome accent?
I have an accent, it's not purely south African though, since I've spent nearly 8 years here. People tell me that it's like a combination of South African and Australian but sounds a lot like an American accent. It's really weird.
Seeing I had a speaking disorder I get mistaken for an accent. Apparently I am Irish, Scottish, English, American, Asian or South African.
Good luck with that.
What are your subjects? I still have all of my notes if you want them.
- English Standard

Can I have the notes? Queensland has a fucked up system but they might be useful.
I did
-English
-Art
-Photography
-National Politics
-History Revolutions
no maths, no science, no accounting , final destination
VCE/HSC is such bullshit, sure, its an indicator and helps the people who did really well, but honestly, if you want to get somewhere in uni, at least in Victoria, you can just pathway your way to the top.
Agreed hehe, looking back, I should have dropped out at 15, completed an adv. diploma and pathway'd to university.
[editline]13th March 2011[/editline]
Would have finished my degree by now!
mate getting booted... most embarrassing moment of my life...

There's always
Belonging is an important and integral part of our lives and our world. This text demonstrates it through the character's different appearance. This thus demonstrates a lack of belonging. This is ironic however, because not bleongingfd glkdjfgljkgljfljdlg :suicide:

Mine was always;
As theorized by Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Belonging is a fundamental need for human beings. This is relevant to the text blah blah blah blah.
Belonging is shown through blah blah blah, meaning blah blah, thus blah. Blah blah blah.
End.

Have your notes been published? No? Then there's no need to worry about plagiarism
