Nah, apparently it's a flood year and they're ok with that.
The weathers awesome. Rain. Not many 30C+ days. Perfect summer weather.
I dislike summer, my computer gets to hot.

Yup, I'm okay if my house becomes almost completely destroyed by flood water and has like a zillion water snakes in it.
It seems that everyone in Australia is over obsessed with alcohol except me...
Define obsessed.
It seems that everyone in Australia is over obsessed with alcohol except me...
Alcohol is the social lubricant, the mortar to our bricks, the WD-40 to our rusty bolts , the meta to our phor
Define obsessed.
Drinking all the time, bragging about what your drinking all the time.
I drink to keep hydrated, or for taste. If you really need to drink to be social then there is something wrong.

People drink because it's fun, I can see you're too socially deprived to realise this.

Where's the fun.
I drink by myself, fuck social lubricant.

I have located it
Where's the fun.
Because you can hang out with friends, it enhances any experience, it makes you more sociable, I would wager you couldn't understand this because you're probably one of those losers who would "defiantly rather" stay at home and masturbate and play video games, while everyone else goes out and has fun with their friends.

Wow way to make such a crazy assumption as you now nothing about me.
You see if you need alcohol to have fun with your friends, then you can't be too social if you need the alcohol to be social.
Don't worry your probably a 13 y/o who thinks its "What the cool kids do"
Wow way to make such a crazy assumption as you now nothing about me.
Well judging by your obvious disgust for "social drinking" and the fact that your rated me dumb, I can only assume this.
Well judging by your obvious disgust for "social drinking" and the fact that your rated me dumb, I can only assume this.
Social drinking is fine, even i do it sometimes. Poeple who binge are idiots.

Alcohol reduces anxiety and removes many inhibitions. It helps you be more social because you are not as worried about social hierarchy or saying the wrong thing and you just enjoy the company. You might think you do not need to relax, incorrect. Everyone has some kind of nervousness or inhibitions around others and even if you think you don't, ones you aren't aware of will be relieved.
We don't need alcohol to enjoy ourselves or be social, it just helps and makes it more fun. We are not obsessed, we just enjoy it. Why do people always assume that we have some reliance on it?
Why do people always assume that we have some reliance on it?
Social outcasts.
Social drinking is fine, even i do it sometimes. Poeple who binge are idiots.
Binging is another experience in itself. When everyone is a big tough strongman and no-one ever is in need, it's not really a good type of bonding. When someone is vomiting and completely debilitated, then you get to see who cares about them enough and have the bonding of knowing that when you are in need, your mates will take care of you.
40° days are hot, yeah. You can handle a few of them though as long as the rest of the time it's actually summer weather. 30+ days aren't so bad either, quit your whining.
Conversely: you Australian's are pansies when it comes to cold weather.
The second it drops to single digit temperatures everyone around here is like, "OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO DIE! IT'S SO COLD!"
I wonder if anybody I know here has ever actually experienced negative temperatures.
Social outcasts.
ITT: If there is anyone who doesn't like alcohol, even if they just don't like the taste, they are a social outcast.

I didn't say that.
I was just considering posting about how awesome bundy rum is, then i realised the entire town is underwater, which means the brewery might be underwater... What if there is a rum shortage? Brb stocking up

The taste? Come on now, do you really think someone tries beer for the first time and says "Wow, this tastes great"? Beer is an acquired taste and even when you do like it, the taste is something that prevents you from gulping it down like soft drink. Even if you can't stand it, you can just have lolly water or other mixed drinks. They don't taste as bad and still give you the effects of alcohol.

That's why young people don't drink beer.
They aren't used to bitter stuff like beer, they would rather sweet drinks.
2 of my friends went to australia (I live in Canada) and all they did is: work (apparently work permits are easy there for Canadians), drink, and get laid
brb going to australia

I've not really been drinking long, but CERTAIN beers actually taste quite good. Coronas, for example.
And cider is really, really nice.
My fireworks this new years:

$500 well spent.

Jagermeister is where it's at kids
Taste like liquid liquorish.

thanks

Some beers taste like ass, others taste nice. The thing I don't like is people having a shitty VB and then claiming that all beer is horrible. A Corona with Lemon or Lime is one of the tamest things you can get, why don't we introduce people to beer with them?
okay so thanks to this thread and many many other sources I have narrowed it down to Australia and Europe as my travel choices in a year or so, what places should I visit if I go to Australia? I'm a university student so don't want to spend too much money but I am willing to pay for something if it's really worth seeing
bragging about what your drinking all the time.
I think it's hilarious, especially when they're 15 year olds telling you.
