O'week's gonna be interesting.
I don't even know what's happening during it.
There's a few things but the good stuff is only for people on res. Go to whatever they are having on Thursday, it's usually pretty good and even the guys on res go to it.
Also if one day they get all the clubs out, join Juggernauts. Awesome parties, cheap entry to some places, some other good stuff but I can't remember. Definitely worth it.
Yeah same here, all my friends have classes again. I start on Monday :(
I start wed, 2 day week woooo

I'm starting to wish that I had organised to live there. But my job is no way near there.
I need to learn how to play bass
slapa'da'base?
uhhh yeah you know it
bass is easy, the bassist in my band picked it up literally as we formed the band for us and now we're playing iron maiden and shit which is pretty cool.
I wouldn't say it's easy at all, I bet basic bass for most bands is easy, but as an instrument it's extremely complicated.
It's all about where you start I guess, and I got no idea how complicated maiden bass is, but I know the bassist is supposed to be legendary.
define complicated
[editline]28th January 2011[/editline]
because bass is as easy to pick up as a guitar
All the music theory behind playing bass
It's just as complicated as it is with guitar
Fuck musical theory
okay, i'll rephrase: easy as shit to pick up and play something and learn how to play it, but musical theory is always more difficult.
lol, you're wrong
Music theory is great

Got me there
I'm at that point when I can play guitar, but I need to learn theory to progress. Pretty apathetic atm
I've been playing bass (electric and double) for about five years. It's not a difficult instrument at all. Much easier than guitar.

well get your ass in gear and do some theory
What do you need to know to advance anyway

Well there goes my defense
Basically stuff for improv
Hello. Bassist here. Guitar is harder as in learning chord positions and pressing down on more strings but if you're playing the same shit the guitar is its the same. But I know that you play guitar en-guage so you just need to adjust to a different playing style.

That's where the fun is though!
It's not hard to learn the scale to improvise with, but connecting them and actually learning how to improvise are different things altoghether
I started learning how to improvise at the beginning of the year, not gonna sugar coat it, I fucking hated it
I simply, could not improvise, I couldn't do it. Eventually I figured it out though and now improv is the basis of my playing :buddy:, I think you should try

I was just offering a defense, I'm sick of people saying "oh anyone can play bass it's an easy instrument hur dur"
WELL MAYBE IF YOU LISTENED TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN GREEN DAY YOU FUCK YOU'D UNDERSTAND
Going to the races here in melbourne
guess night of minecraft will have ta wait
Cya round guys
Wow I hardly read the thread.
Shit like Iron Maiden is fairly complex. His galloping and his fast pace makes it difficult. Then you have early Metallica shit that is totally different. His lead on Call of Ktulu, Orion and all of his Kill Em All shit are incredible. Dream Theater makes a good use out of a 6 string. I've seen some Racer X live shit and the bassist was a total twat doing really awesome high bass shit while the guitarist were doing lead harmonic solos. People under estimate the bass quite a bit.
That explained a lot
That they do

Sorry, didn't mean to say that again. I don't mind Iron Maiden and the bassist is obviously really talented.
