lol isn't VET the lower class in highschool [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] Oh heres my timetable Some days I gotta be there before 8:30 which sucks because I hate the city and I nearly get bashed everytime I'm in the city, so going home at 6:30pm is gonna suck bad [img_thumb]http://i51.tinypic.com/333fjlw.png[/img_thumb]
How do you manage to nearly get bashed every time you're in the city? I mean I often see shady looking people staring at me while I'm in the CBD, but it never goes anywhere. You'd probably have to be actively seeking out trouble to find it at 6:30PM.
http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ65002.shtml if you're counting the bureau of meteorology as a sensationalist media outlet, sure
yes, it's been upgraded again, but when they previously downgraded it, none of the news providers reported it.
Uh, it's just that most people go "WTF U LOOKING AT CUNT" if you look at them at a quick glance. theres heaps of dodgy people round flinders st station
Wow. That's weird. Never experienced that before and I'm around Flinders Street station A LOT. Alone AND in groups. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] HAHA! I fucking love the Aussie spirit! There's footage of people in Queensland getting much needed supplies before Yasi hits. Water. Food. Medical supplies. Then suddenly the camera cuts to footage of some guy who must be about 20 years old carrying 2 slabs of beer to his car. Good on you, mate! You've gotta prioritise!
same^ mr apple sounds like you somehow make yourself a target i roam melbourne day and night, alleys at all hours and i've never experienced anything like that
My friend's comment on the beer bloke seen on the news:
still weak, if i was bracing for a cyclone i would build a house out of slabs and drink my house away in stead of having it knocked down

same^ mr apple sounds like you somehow make yourself a target i roam melbourne day and night, alleys at all hours and i've never experienced anything like that
I don't make myself a target, it's mainly my anxiety.
I don't make myself a target, it's mainly my anxiety.
Pfft. You're anxious? I'm practically paranoid about people. I spent pretty much EVERY SINGLE DAY of my life between primary 1 and primary 7 of school being bullied. I'm weary of people. I like to know EXACTLY who's around me, where they are, how many people there are, what objects are around me, how I can use my surroundings to advantage if need-be. I'm constantly aware of my surroundings because it's the way I learned to live my childhood to keep myself safe. The thing is, though, you can't let people KNOW that you're keeping an eye on them. That you're weary of them. You've got to act normal, act like you don't give a fuck. If they see that you're scared of them, or worried about what they might do: they'll take advantage of that. Windows on trains are a GODSEND. If there's somebody shady looking nearby that you think might have it in for you, you stare out of the window seemingly uncaring as to what's going on around you, but really you use the opportunity to watch their reflection. I remember just last Friday there were two really shady looking guys sitting near me on the train at like midnight and I kept an eye on them using the window. They kept staring at me whenever I'd look out of the window where they thought I couldn't see them. They eventually got off at Footscray station, which made me laugh a fair bit.
I was just up in cairns for 1 week, about three weeks ago. Also I feel so sorry for the QLD people, they've been through so much in such a small amount of time.
Sltungle, I use that train window technique as well. When you say your paranoid you make it sound like a bad thing, it's actually a very good thing, it will help you to stay away from trouble / makes you l33t.

my mum just got a call from her cairns friend saying "goodbye... incase" :| anyway, i booked canada, yay
Im in Ingham right now. We got told not to evacuate, then to evacuate, so we packed our shit and went to leave and they told us now that it's "too late" WHAT THE FUCK. We're fucking stuck here. We have a plan though. As it gets close we're huddling in the hallway with mattresses and blankets covering us. "IF YOUR ROOF LIFTS OFF, DONT PANIC" are you fucking kidding me. If my roof comes off I am going to shit my pants.

How can you seriously be that scared walking around the city? I know it's been said but you must actually just stare at lads and stuff if you're getting beaten up that often. And no one starts shit at Flinders st. station, there's a police station just inside ffs.
I had it 1-5, shit sucks hard :respek:
I had it for longer than 1-7, but it stopped being a DAILY thing after primary 7 (more like once or twice a week). When I first moved here to Aus there were two guys who were pretty big dicks to me. They (and anyone else) stopped bullying me when I turned around and flipped their table over on top of them during French one day, pinned them underneath it, and screamed in their faces. Not only did they leave me alone, but they made an EFFORT to actually stay out of my way. Now I occasionally see one of them when I'm back over that side of town and I'm on good terms with him. He's quite a nice guy nowadays, oddly. :respek:
Pretty much the same as me, but this isn't really a "who's more of a nutcase" thread
I'm not a nutcase. It's a perfectly legitimate way for me to approach situations that seem potentially hostile. It's kept me out of trouble for the past few years of my life. It helps me avoid getting mugged and having the absolute shit beaten out of me. I fail to see how it's a bad thing in anyway.
Shit sucks, last year at uni there we cool people I could relate to and have an ormal conversation with This year it's filled with old/semi old people who say "leet" and "gg" irl and talk about anime makes me wanna take them to the music room and kill them within the sound proof walls [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
I'm not a nutcase. I know, I do the samethings you subliminal things you do to avoid conflict, I'm just doing a nostalgia run and trying to figure out how to play maplestory again so I dont wanna go into detail
Well I wouldn't really consider myself paranoid, just... VERY cautious. Paranoia is like... being scared without any actual BASIS to your fears. Like if I were to be frightened that the government could read my mind I'd consider that paranoia. However if I actually SAW some device that could read people's minds and had proof that it worked then that'd be a reasonable fear to have and it wouldn't be paranoia.
Dude I get it
Dude I get it
That was in response to Atokniro's 'paranoia is a good thing' post. Not you.

That's like, up the road pretty much. Good luck bro.
Best wishes to everyone effected by this in coming weather.
