I don't watch cartoons very often. But I saw a couple of episodes of Chowder. It's probably one of the best cartoon's being aired.
Newsflash, it wasn't that great.
It was the fucking shit. Ed Edd n' Eddy was my favourite cartoon when I was a kid, even my dad watched it :haw:
It has, I think
There was no image :colbert:
I never liked disney channel as it was, but I always would watch Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Lately though, for at least 3-4 years, the cartoons have become shitty excuses for entertainment. I mean the animation it self sucks ass, and the story lines are boring. Look at Johnny Test for example. That has teh shittiest animation I have seen. It is pure laziness on the part of the creators. I miss the good old days. Also Toonami rocked, but that is of course gone. Damn I used to watch fucking Dragon ball Z every evening it was on before dinner.
Even nicktoons network is in the shitter.
There's a major lack of hand drawn cartoons now. Classics like this. I'm usually the type to love old things and hate the new but Pixar movies are truly great. They're the new classics.
I kinda miss the subliminal messages you used to get all the time in cartoons. Seaman Staines in Captain Pogwash

Johnny Test is a god damn abomination, they always play the same damn episodes, with the crappiest music, and extra lame jokes. That needs to get taken off the air. I also find that Bakugan show to be very, very poor.
The Adventures of Flapjack is surprisingly not shit and came out recently.
people aren't actually looking to enjoy the new stuff Flapjack is pretty good.
By this time, if you're in your 20s or even in the teens, and you're still watching cartoons... I'd say it's time to grow up. Although, I've hardly watched much television at all lately. It's all reality shows and shit now.
Camp Lazlo, and that stupid blue ferret thing with a trippy shirt, are what makes me hate modern cartoons the most.
The old 90's stuff on nickelodeon like Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Invader Zim, Catdog, etc which I watched when I grew up were the shit. Now everything blows. (except adult swim thats always going to be funny and badass)
ITT: Cartoons are drawn. People are not.
Actually, most cartoons are made in flash nowadays. I miss hand drawn squiggles :(
Maybe you should grow up?
No, this is just nostalgia on your part. Of course what you grew up with will be "better" for you than the dribble they have now.
Not really dude, i've never watched steamboat willie before and i found it hillarious.
The Adventures of Flapjack is surprisingly not shit and came out recently.
There may be hope for the future.
They're not getting more stupid, you're just growing up.
But things like Tom and Jerry, even some adults like to see, but the ones they put now...
They arn't dying, theres plenty of actual cartoons on Teletoon, cartoon network and family channel. The thing is just like the generations before you disapproving of the cartoons you think the new ones are shit too, its not any different its just not what you grew up to so you think its crap, nowadays kids will watch anything. I personally don't like the new cartoons but again my previous point stands for me too.
the way i see it. music these days dont have the soul it did back then when the blues were around. i tend to see some people play the guitar like they're making it sing. where did that go? thats the thing with cartoons. they dont have soul its technology thats moving the characters. not the artist. and its getting harder and harder to make new styles of music these days cuase everyones trying to be like metallica or gnr and not trying to make something new and different. thats why theres hardly any original episodes cuase they're doing the same episodes like. "it was all a dream", or "this is my chance to get that kiss.....oh no sooo close!" cartoons arnt dead. you cant say that cuase cartoons like capton planet and sonic undergound were airing when we were yunger and people were saying cartoons suck i bet. then dexters lab, recess, and hay arnold came and then everyone shut thier mouths so we cant officially say cartoons are dead until we watch the ones in 2010-20
The difference is, cartoons have differing quality and anime is universally shit.
Yes, because all anime is Naruto and Dragonball
Yes, because all anime is Naruto and Dragonball
Exactly.
Cartoons are dying because Anime is strongly dominating it.
The difference is, cartoons have differing quality and anime is universally shit.
Studio Ghibli
A cartoon is drawn, Hannah Montana is not drawn you are correct.
At least some of the girls that are on the shows are hot as fuck.
Cartoons are dying because Anime is strongly dominating it.

Studio Ghibli
No shutup, this isn't the thread for that(as much as i watch anime too) But stop letting the nostalgia block your vision, those shows weren't that great either I have to admit that ed edd and eddy sucked, tom and jerry sucked, the only show i really ever watched was scooby-doo when they used to have the guests and shit like that. and Cartoon network isn't even cartoon network anymore they should just call it shit and ripoff station
It's not nostalgia on my part. I still think Spongebob, CatDog, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, and Courage the Cowardly dog are still funny. As is The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
Cartoon Network will now be showing shows that are not animated. This greatly saddens me, they used to be cartoons 24/7 when I was a kid and that is what I liked.
