Actually, the animations for almost all the shows a similar look. The last truely original animation style has been Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The rest look like they are trying to copy Disney or animes.

Disney and Nick tried to stay with it's original group of 90's kids. As they aged, cartoons attempted to age with them. Their failure is what we have now. Kids now don't have a childhood, they have another childhood's afterbirth.

I grew up on late 70's - early 80's cartoons, and at the time I thought they were great, but try watching them now. Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends had some horrid animation. Same for the Superfriends (even though I still love the Challenge of the Superfriends show, crappy animation and all). The only cartoons from my childhood that have stood the test of time were the Looney Tunes cartoons, and those were reruns from the 1940's and 1950's. The Jonny Quest cartoons from the 1960's hold up okay as well, but for the most part tv animated shows have been the craps. Notable exceptions - the Batman cartoons from the 1990's as well as the new Brave and the Bold cartoons. Not the world's greatest animation but the strengths make up for any shortcomings.
