Buses have seatbelts?
I hate it when I sit next to someone and they start a whole conversation with me. Leave me alone damnit!
That never happens here, weird. :ohdear:
You actually use those seatbelts? I haven't used a bus seatbelt, ever. I find the tearing out of the little garbage cans more annoying, or leaving the seat reclined.
I definitely prefer taking trains/subway over buses whenever possible.. but even then, there's homeless people walking down the aisle begging everyone on the train at the top of their lungs, there's people on the phone arguing with their bf/gf in front of everyone, and during peak hours there's no room to move around. Public transportation can be a bitch.
Clearly you, my friend, are a true FP'er, who abhors human contact and social interaction of any kind! :golfclap: Come on! I've never had a single problem with conversations with strangers on the bus (most of those strangers being senior citizens). Infact, I've had some interesting and serious conversations about social issues, politics, recent events, the like. You should try it sometime, it's a refreshing experience. Also, another thing I don't understand is people scowling at you if you simply greet them. Meh.
I talked to an 80 year old british man once, in Slovenia. He was a really cool dude, told me that he was going to bike around Hungary and how his daughter still hasn't managed to teach him Slovenian in over 4 years. So yeah, you can get some real fun stories on the bus, if you're in the mood.
I had a bad time on the trolley today. I got on the same one as a family of 4 who were absolutely loud. I shouldn't be able to hear 4 people talking from the opposite end of the car with my ears plugged, yet I could easily listen in on their conversation while doing so. It's like listening to 12-year-olds yell at you on Gmod or the like, times 1000 since you have to listen to it nonstop, and you can't just mute them.
I think vandalism in general is a bad idea. Since, well, the taxmoney they use to "replenish" the damage with, is normally higher than the cost to actually fix it. Not to mention that in like... 45% of the cases, they hardly bother fixing it at all.
australia has busses like this http://www.whiteroselimo.com/UploadedImages/file/party_bus_stripper_pole.jpg
My age is the reciprocal of the derivative of 12.
that isn't even possible [editline]03:20AM[/editline]
australia has busses like this http://www.whiteroselimo.com/UploadedImages/file/party_bus_stripper_pole.jpg
canada has busses where people don't have heads
I don't take the bus, but I have a friend who does. He has this Blackberry phone that he plays an incredibly high-pitched note. It's that mosquito sounding whistle and I've heard he constantly plays it on the bus. It pisses everyone off and worse thing is, he can't hear it, he's half-deaf and needs hearing aids to hear and the hearing aids can't pick up the high sound.
I hate getting on a train to find a puddle of piss, but beyond that I'm fine.
On the bus there's that "STOP" button which you press to notify the driver to stop at the very next bus stop. This group of kids from the high school near by thought it was funny to spam it. The first time they did it twice or so and the driver stopped at the next stop and no one got off, he thought that was odd, but kept on driving. They then pressed it somewhat 7 times in a row and the driver yells out 'CUT IT OUT' as he realises what they're doing. Next time they did it and he got out of his seat and stood at the front of the bus and yelled 'IF ANYONE DOES THAT ANYMORE, I'M DRIVING BACK TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL AND YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHAT YOU DID'. They all pussied out and didn't do it again. [editline]09:13PM[/editline] And another time a kid tried to start a fight with me on the bus, I was sitting in my seat pleasently and he starts kicking me and is like "OI CUNT". Just ignore the dickheads I reckon, don't give them any attention.
If it's a coach or a bus with real seats like those in cars then it sucks LOL but if it's normal busses then I like to vandalise too :DD I also hate stupid people who are too cheap to get a set of earphones for at least 10$ But other than that I'm a Vandalism Rebel !
There are no seatbelts in London
- People listening to music (and it's always shitty music) without earphones, or with earphones, but the music is so loud that you can still hear it. - People screaming on cellphones - baby on the bus - 2 babies on the bus, one at each side of the bus so you can't escape.
You don't need seat belts on a bus anyway, the bus doesn't go that fast and if you have a minimum amount of strength you can go just fine without sitting anywhere.
I actually haven't seen buses with seatbelts outside sweden (There's actually a law in Sweden to wear seatbelts in Sweden). It's usually in all buses that aren't citybuses.
I remember hearing a story from a family member about a bus in Winnipeg. Some drunk Indian wanted on the bus but the driver wouldn't let him. So this guy starts pounding on the door. The driver grabs a chunk of wood from under the seat, yells "DON'T YOU FUCKING TOUCH MY BUS" and chases him down the street with it. [editline]04:49AM[/editline] Emphasis on Winnipeg
I absolutely fucking HATE people that don't use headphones and blast their shit music everywhere. Not that what I listen to is any good but goddamn. And its always on tinny little cellphone speakers so it sounds even worse. Page king :350:
Id rather have a drunk or hobo sit next to me rather than some FAGGOT Chav asking for change and/or contents of your pockets
This isn't necessarily vandalism but I was on a bus near these pricks who were playing extremely loud music turned up so loud that every one throughout the bus could hear, a mother who's child had just woken up from the music had started screaming and crying turned around to ask them to turn it down, the kid replied and said "fuck off bitch". Luckily they got kicked of at the next stop, but I can't stand spiteful shit like that.
Too bad spock wasn't on that bus
i ride on unicorns srsly public transportation is so much better. I'm not getting a car. just a motorcycle for when I want to go far and I'll take public transportation to my job or what ever I do to make the monies.
Coach? But seriously, they're just assholes who think they're cool.
I took a train to Dallas, TX yesterday and there were seats broken, messages saying "FUCK YOU!", poorly drawn dicks, etc. It annoys me, then some ass came up and asked the lady next to me for .01 cents, she said no so he came to me I said no and he slapped me and called me a bitch.

Iceland ruining air travel/freight/mail for the rest of the world.
A coach is pretty much the same as a bus except I think you can fit an extra gang member inside or something, not that it really makes much of a difference because they take fucking ages to get out anyway and usually just get killed one at a time because they suck.
none of our transit buses have Seat belts Orion VII NG HEV may i also show you guys the idiot Seat (on a NovaBus LFS) those passengers need to sit in this seat the worst are Clingers these passengers talk and talk to the driver and follow therm off the bus and ride forever
The one thing that's weird over here is that coaches have to have seatbelts, yet buses don't. Sure coaches are for longer journeys, but you can still crash on a bus....
It is because Busses are driven by professional drivers who obey the speed limits, so our government classifies them as a safe mode of transport. Its also hard for the bus driver to enforce a seatbelt rule and its stop to stop, unlike coaches, which are smaller so the rule is easy to enforce and for longer journeys.
