ITT: Discussion about the usage of eggplants in porn
Oh man....being in poverty is a bitch. I keep seeing more and more tv shows/documentaries that show of it's basically a cylce of getting a minimum wage job, event happens so you lose job, then get another job that pays less, etc. It's REALLY hard to break free and live a better life. And it really doesn't matter a whole lot which country your talking about. It's similar in most of the world. The reason's why people are in it vary though. I remember you Pentium, or now MIPS. You made a thread about your crazy room and how you are basically a huge pack rat. But you seemed to have it alright because you had a lot to entertain yourself and whatnot. It's good that you shared your problems. Bottling up can be tough and lead to just being so fucking depressed that it cancels out or hinders your meds helping your other problems.
I grew up in a poor family, and always lived in not so exciting areas. A boring life you could say. When I was 18, I decided I should free myself and go my own way. Fuck school, fuck working most of my life. But what skills do you have? Who's going to give you a good wage? Then I realized the skill that I had been using for years at school, one that is more valuable than anything you'll get in highschool or college. Manipulating people. To help them do good for themselves, or their peers, but mostly everyone around them. And I can apply this skill into sales. My job is to talk to people, and I make $180 an hour (not a wage job, I make on average 1 deal worth $60 in 20 mins). Isn't that easy? What's the thing you're most likely to do the most in your life? Interact with people? What if not only they helped you, but you helped them access their potentials? In the end, when used for good, everyone benefits. And what do I have to pay to get this awesome shit done? Nothing. My mind is my most valuable possession. I've traveled Europe with the power of getting shit done, without paying money. Just me interacting with people have gotten me so far.
Wow man, you're gonna base whether or not you kill yourself based on a fucking comedy film? Come on bro.. pull yourself together and get out into the world. You'll be fine
Birth to college/university: All you need to learn is social skills. An expert at interacting successfully with people doesn't have to financially support himself, because others will for him. Also, there's so many people on the world who have more than what they need, so they'll just give it to you if you're a good salesmen or talker. Because after all, that well off person would help out his best buddies, right? You can be that best buddy. Faster and easier than you think too.
20, Unemployed, no job experience, third year High-school dropout, Virgin, meager social life outside contacts on the internet, lives at home with the family, likes Computers and Video Games, not very good at anything, day-to-day existence is merely to try to be of some use and help out around the house, finding some way to amuse myself or lose myself in deep thought for a while (un-influenced of course). In the two decades that have spanned my current existence I have accomplished fuck all, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Welcome to the Club, the outcast and depressed 20-something 90's Kids Club. :v: You are not alone. :unsmith:

Then I'd set you up with something you're skilled at or can easily train in to make money for yourself. What I would get out of it? I helped people get out of the trap set up for society. How? You get to make money easily, quickly, and you didn't have to invest ridiculous amounts of time and money in school and other jobs. But I won't get that rich within the next 2 years. If there isn't a NWO soon, then I'd do that^
Trust me, a lot of us will do fuck all. I want to go into game development but I suck so bad at math that its starting look like I won't be able to move onto the stuff I actually need for game design.

Who is going to turn me away, I have a god damned knife!
You're like me, except I have some mundane job experience that hopefully will pay off eventually Let's start a ponzi scheme
That's the problem. Society is set up so everyone screws each other over, and they don't work together. This is why shit sucks (unless you're a rich prick and collaborate with other rich dudes). But people like us should unite though. We'll get real shit done.

You're a smart person MIPS. Whenever I see you post I know it's going to be good. I also have been clinically diagnosed with Aspergers and depression, so I know what it's like. It takes time, but you will get through it. Also, if you want to be up to date on modern computers, take an A+ course (computer technician) and you'll learn a lot. Afterwards you'll understand what they're talking about on tech sites. It was a lot of work but it was worth it.

I'm actually good at programming but I also have some artisitic skills. I'd post some sketchup models I've made in the past but they're from Sketchup, so it doesn't count.
From what I've read, everyone has the motivation to get shit done and get out there and do something, they just don't know how to put it to good use
In my experience, landing a good job is 1 part experience, 1 part attitude, and 8 parts knowing the right bloke

I know that the American College system is set up to milk you dry so you'll take any job including ones completely unrelated to your dream job. They give this false idea of working your way up and most never get that far because they end up getting cock blocked by the system or by something else in life.
OR I don't know, get hired by banks so you can create tools that they don't understand using derivatives and stuff meant for building bridges, not managing accounts.
Someone who went for a physics degree would probably want to be doing actual physics, and that's the point my post was trying to make - people spend tens of thousands of dollars on their dream degree and end up doing nothing even remotely similar.

I'm not paying over 45K to end up working for ESPN making adds for them.
OP: You were an air cadet for five years, you need a job that provides benefits, you need work experience form a reputable employer, you are unattached to anyone and everyone in your immediate vicinity, you need someone to teach you skills that can be applied in a modern work environment. It sounds like you need to join the military, bud. Assuming it is anything like the states, you will gain virtually everything you need. Just take a technical job with the Air Force. At best you will never leave your home base for anything other than training, at worst, you hang out at an air field in some (probably shitty) part of the world for a few months and make extra money doing so with combat pay. Once you exit the military you will have all the skills you need, a solid work history, and probably improved social skills.

The military isn't very accommodating to people like him. (MIPS, this isn't an insult directed at you but at the military itself) If he thinks he can do it it would be great, but I have my doubts about whether it's the right atmosphere for him.

I know this because we have an ROTC program on campus and all the Airforce guys I know are REALLY REALLY friendly.
