I couldn't listen to that music for a whole day to be honest, I just lose my interest too fast.
Herp derp music elitism.
Maybe we just don't enjoy many things that happen to be mainstream?
High horse. Please get off it.
That being said, I agree with Eluveitie. The G'n'R (with Slash) is acceptable.
I enjoy mainstream, I still think his taste is bad.
Pretty easy choices IMO. I mean Sweet Child o' Mine in particular is alright, but GnR have better songs which someone who lists Appetite as their top album would know
I bet when his at home he puts Bathory record and jams the fuck out it, but you know he has to give "a nice little boy image".
you can tell.
Everybody has a different view on things.
I for one don't give a fuck and want to be in his position right now.
With my own taste in musc though, but that really is the dream of a musician and should be the goal. Being successful by playing the music you enjoy should be the light at the end of the tunnel for every musician.

Worshipped by pre-pubescent girls?
Michael Jackson is not tripe
Generic choice though.
Unless he had said Off The Wall.

I could listen to the Bad album all day :v:
But Tragically Hip is a good band...
I thought graduation was a damn good album.

Girls in my school are head over heels for them.
Even the ones nearing 20 years of age mate.
I don't hate Bieber more than I hate any other annoying kid
I hate the music industry for giving him that sort of status

Woah, seriously? :buddy:
Sweet Child o' Mine' is a classic and one of my favorite songs for Karaoke. No lie. Haha.
Never mind, he's still a fucking retarded fuckhead fuck.

Music elitism? I'm simply implying that a lot of the people are simply saying his taste is awful because they don't like pop, hip hop, r&b, which is what makes up of most of his list. Even though a lot of those albums are critically acclaimed albums that universally liked for the most part and considered good even by people who are not necessarily fans.
You're just saying I'm being elitist because you know my taste and I guess think I am attacking thrash metal in some way. I just know for a fact that a good deal of the music forum users are indeed metal fans and generally just hate mainstream stuff. So the thread is simply filled with people hating on him yet again (which is getting old) for liking what are pretty much well liked albums.
I wasn't trying to attack metal, I don't like it, but I appreciate it as you know I do. You've shared a lot of it with me that I enjoyed. Not trying to be on my high horse, I guess the last comment just made it look this way, but it's not secret that a good deal of facepunchers bandwagon just to hide from the dumb rating, which at the end of the day I don't really care about.
Sorry if I offended anybody.

And no, I'm not a Beiber fan, but the hate on him is getting annoying because it's like people are spending their free time trying to think of ways to hate on him, and in turn just making him more famous. If they really disliked him that much, they'd just not talk about him. It's kind of like going into a genre thread about a genre you hate, and telling everyone there about how much you hate it.

Just because it's generic doesn't make it any more bad :smug:
But yeah I'd put Off the Wall and Bad as his best albums. Though I wouldn't tell someone they have no taste in music if they said Thriller was their favourite album.

No he doesn't have a bad music taste. Where have I said that?
He ain't bad though... He ain't bad he ain't nothing.

Nothing there is terrible music. The worst there is Chris Brown.
Wow, what a surprise, they're pretty much all black.
This isn't racism, it's just Justin Bieber acts like a bloody 'gangsta'. Then gets hit by a water bottle and says 'Ow, that kinda hurt'.

I'm pretty sure that most people in this thread and in this forum don't hate on him because he doesn't listen to metal but whatever. MY personal problem with his choices have nothing to do with the genre overall, just that they are relatively easy and obvious choices, and in no way really imply that he has particularly interesting tastes.
Usher, Kanye, Chris Brown and GnR particularly fall under this. His tastes sound like the kind of kid you meet wearing a GnR T shirt so you talk to him about them and he just goes "oh yeah man Sweet Child o Mine is amazing".
If he wants to listen to it more power to him, but the thread title and content of his post make it seem like we should be amazed that he likes those albums

Understandable.
Hey! Lady Gaga's favourite band of all time is Iron Maiden but yet you still don't see any difference...

this is musical elitism bro. You're judging a person based on a small snippet of their musical tastes. Oh if he likes RnB then he obviously only claims to like GnR based on a single song
You're judging a person
To be fair... it's the Bieber. If he had chosen something like "Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd" his fan base may think he'd be weird.
Boys 2 men... Graduation... I'm seeing a 'puberty' theme here

his fans don't care
the biebs or non-biebs status of the person in question doesn't really change the nature of dopey trout's judgement

dude if you were going through puberty in senior year you're either a genius or one hell of a late bloomer

I very much doubt that.
I don't think he'd choose the albums he did without someone from his Public Relations being involved.
i think you're overestimating the grip of record executives, I'm certain there was a pr person between him and the interviewer, but only to the extent of making sure he didn't pick a prussian blue or anal cunt album
I think you "underestimate" the grip of record executives. They are total assholes to their artists. It is rare to give someone of his status complete freedom until he gets really great reviews as an artist.

This.
Most of the popular artists today are told to make their music by their record company. With the exception of Lady Gaga and any others you guys know of.

Did you even read the post. Quite frankly if you mention Sweet Child o Mine in reference to liking Guns n Roses then you're an idiot, and I guess I'll have to put up with being an elitist while listening to their better songs.
If he wants to like them, fine by me. Don't expect me to be interested
