Parkour was cool in like 1999. Anyone who does it now looks like a total tool. If you want to do it for yourself that's fine, but it is like anti-mojo when it comes to chicks. Big turn off.
who does a hobby for chicks do model train enthusiasts think about the chicks do GOOD guitarists do it for the chicks if he's doing parkour for a hobby why should he care about chicks

Just go to the gym, then chicks won't think you're some weird guy hopping around like spiderman.
Forget chicks, do stuff that are fun to you
Forget chicks, do stuff that are fun to you
This is the best advice ever if you are never interested in having sex.
Everyone, Those are idiot's, Yes, Just because.
hobbies are meant to be for personal enjoyment if you have a hobby that you enjoy and gets you chicks, then lucky you if you have a hobby that you dont enjoy that gets you chicks, that is dumb if you have a hobby that you enjoy but doesnt get you chicks, whatever. as long as you have fun. if it's something that would repel chicks then just don't do it around them. edit:
This is the best advice ever if you are never interested in having sex.
refer to post
Parkour is getting from A to B as quickly as possible. It's useful but I highly doubt it's what you think it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2kJZOfq7zk Crap like that is called free running. For that, you need strength and agility, but more importantly, you need to be able to think incredibly quickly on your feet. Assuming you still actually want to try parkour, get used to falling. A lot. And not like, "ow I scraped my knee" falls. More like "hey guys i fell on my head why is everything in black and white" falls. 90% of the people that do it have fallen on their heads at one point in time. It's rarer to break your neck that way than you would think, but it happens. And if you do it in some abandoned factory, have fun bleeding out because there isn't anyone THERE. And good luck with health insurance, you were the dumb moron that decided to jump around machines. If you STILL want to try it, I suggest taking a year of either Tae Kwon Do or Jiu Jitsu, preferably the latter. It'll teach you how to land correctly, how to roll correctly, and it'll work up all the muscles you need. If you don't have the ability to commit for that long, it's probably not worth it for you to do anything like parkour anyway. Besides, it's fun. And I know you say you can pull yourself up a ledge. That's nice. Can you jump twelve feet horizontally and down, land with your hands on a ledge and your face against a wall, and then pull yourself up? Theoretically you'll never have to. But if you go for a jump and miss, it's better to grab it and pull yourself up than plummet to your doom.

It's completely cleared out of "machines" and the highest building is two floors, and I'm NOT starting there. Second of all, I already told you - to begin with I'm just wanna get to one point to another ASAP. If I get an obstacle that is to advanced for me, I'll just have to take the longer route to get past it. I'm not talking Assassin's Creed 2 or Mirror's Edge here. What I'm after is tops 1 floor, climbing some ledges, and vaulting. Not much more. If I would begin to enjoy it enough, I will begin taking lessons, I will join forums, I will watch videos etc. etc. The city I'm moving to in about two weeks (Stockholm) is the perfect place to do this. There's a bridge in the middle of the town (Now, I'm not talking LOL CENTER STOCKHLM. I mean like the outside of it, small villages.) which has good jumping, ledges etc. etc. Point made.
Is it recommended? No. Is it awesome? Yes. Do you want to do it? Yes. Then go for it. Bring a friend though to spot you in case you die.
Parkour is probally the best exercise you can get.
Parkour is probally the best exercise you can get.
...outside of training at a gym like a normal human being.

It'll at least give you variety. Or you could, you know. Exercise in a gym.
I do parkour. It's really not about being all muscular. It's about becoming familiar with your body, working with it, and being able to set training goals for yourself to complete. I'm really thin and with little muscle mass. I can't even do 10 pushups/pull-ups in a row, but I can scale a wall two times taller than me. Find ways to work with your momentum and speed to accomplish things you didn't think you could do with brute force alone. Balance comes with training, if you don't have any. If you are crawling across a beam, then you have plenty of time to adjust your body to have the best center of balance - you would only fall if you were rushing, and you're not really competing against anyone in parkour. Any more questions?
a plus is that you will look badass doing it
I saw it on youtube once, it looked awesome but I don't have the skills to do it, I'm not really the athletic type.
I wouldn't recommend parkour to anyone. You should be in shape and agile, because theres a high risk of getting injured.
http://www.youtube.com/user/UrbanCurrent Here's a good channel showing techniques and training routines. Always practice safe training!
Why do real parkour and risk injuring youself badly? Do the next best thing.
WOW! That will REALLY help me get off the computer and go out more! :fuckyou:
This is the best advice ever if you are never interested in having sex.
Clearly you've never had sex and still think it's the best thing you can waste time trying to get. Sorry, but there is more to life than getting laid.

I have bookmarked that channel you gave me! :v:
It's a nice nice sport. It doesn't need anything but clothes and street to do it. You should try it
It's a nice nice sport. It doesn't need anything but clothes and street to do it. You should try it
What if you're a nudist? :ohdear:
You must read the law before doing Parkour. If it's not forbidden to go nude then show your double-penis-spin-roof-jump lol
I like parkour but it's too snowy in Canada to do jack..
Muscles mean shit all in Parkour to be honest, it's all about agility
you need to be able to lift your own body weight
This is how a real man does Park-hour.
I would recommend it but as others have said, start small dont expect to do all the "pro" stuff at the start, somethings look easy but when you attempt to do it... well let's just say it won't always go as planned! a tip is to wear light clothes but not to baggy, running shoes with good grip :downs:
I was just outside, made some smaller jumps n' climbing. I noticed I will need something to protect my palms with. Gue'ss it'll do if I just take an old t-shirt of mine, cut out a long piece, and wrap around my hands, down to my wrists. Will try that.
I feel like if i try this, something bad will happen like ill land on my head jump in front of a car like videos on youtube. Its the only thing im like that with.
Clearly you've never had sex and still think it's the best thing you can waste time trying to get. Sorry, but there is more to life than getting laid.
Oh LOL. Despite the fact that none of you guys believe me, I'm actually probably the only person on FP who's married. And any high school or college aged dude who isn't thinking about sex most of the time has something wrong with them. Unless you join a mixed-gender parkour group, going to the gym or joining an intramural sports team would be a way more social way of getting exercise and could potentially lead to slamming. Two of my cousins who are ladies both met the guys they are currently dating on an intramural soccer team that they play with on weekends in Golden Gate Park.
