Insurance is fucking mental this year. I'm paying 1083 quid fully comp because i lost my no claims bonus for not having insurance for 2 years.
New drivers are paying at least 2 grand! Jesus christ.
It was 600 quid last time :(

From what I've been reading on the Pistonheads forum new drivers aged 17-18 are paying more like £3000-£3500 to insure their first cars! Double what I paid for my first year and that was only a couple of years ago, I got a quote pretending to be 17 again on my old first car and the price had rose by 60%!!!
When you think about it, insurance companies aren't making that much cash from everyone. Your average middle man pays about £300 a year to insure his car full comprehensive. Say for example he owns a car worth £10,000 and has been paying his insurance for 3 years when he's in an accident and the car is a total loss, he's pad the insurers £900 to date, they now have to pay £10,000 to cover the cost of his car, the insurance company are at a loss of £9,100. The costs are all based on a stupid amount of risk factors but at the end of the day, the young drivers are subsidising the older drivers who make a claim, it's easy to charge young drivers through the roof, that's how the insurance companies are recovering the cash.
There have even been companies considering using risk factors such as a male's ring finger length, apparently those with longer ring fingers drive more aggressivley and are more likely to be in a crash. Plus, if you're involved in a crash that ISN't your fault then you are charged more because, statistically, those who have been involved in a no fault accident are more likely to be involved in another crash. What a load of bollocks, penalising innocent, good drivers for something out of their control. Fuck I hate insurance companies! I could rant all day about them.

there was a big empty space on the parking lot of the local super market so I've done long wide drifts today. Parking lot full of hard snow
fuuuuun :v:

My premium was £4600, only Third Party Fire and Theft aswell. Paid it all off annually.
A Friend of mine is paying £330 a month for a 1.0 VW Lupo, which he nearly wrote off.

Cheapest quote i could find! Its on a Y Reg Ford Mondeo.
The only way to get a cheaper policy for younger is to find the uncoolest, least popular small engined car you can. Failing that, be a girl, drive a Skoda and live in the safest part of Britain with no car crime.
I think Liverpool is the worst place to live when insuring a new driver.

I wouldn't have money to actually drive the car if I had insurance costs that high
Somebody has to drop an M3 V8 in there.
Fuck no.
Straight 6 from an M3 E46 would be a lot better.
People have been simply shoving turbos and new electric systems and getting 1000+ HP out of them on race gas, and over 700 on normal (depending on the stage)
So, any Skyline Fans here ?
My model of the R32 GT-R just arrived, it's small (1:43) but really pretty. :)
It's only offered with a manual.
What more could you want?
A super model. Other than that, not much else.
ALSO: I am thinking about selling my 95 Mustang GT and getting a smaller engined and 4 door car. I love my mustang, and I love the V8. sometimes. Others its just too small on the inside, and cost too much in gas. If I do I could put all of my extra money into the truck instead of splitting the funds between two vehicles. My friends would be more comfortable, and so would my wallet. I do plan on getting another 95 Gt eventually, but I would get a standard and probably just transform it into a fast car. Screw using a mustang Gt as a dd. What do you guys think?

Are the older ones even worth having? I mean most of them have probably been driven hard, and are twenty years old. I'msure if you had a lot of money you could restore one but the R32/33s I see here look like they are about to fall apart.

We get a lot of ricers around here in Indiana, at least where I live.
But damn, I saw this kid coming down the road and pulled into the lane next to us. I've seem some riced up shit, but this was quite possibly the most ridiculous car I've seen.
It was a purple Honda Civic, with pure white bumpers, and this huge wing looking thing on the back. It had this really big exhaust pipe, with a little one inside of it. A whole shitload of stickers on it, too. The best thing was it had these green lightbars mounted under it. I've heard of stuff like that out there, but never seen it. Wish I had a camera.
I really don't know all that much about cars, but who find that appealing? Honestly?
Have a look at www.barryboys.co.uk for english riced shit.
wow thats disgusting

Kids who think their car is fast and that bitches think it's attractive.
I would want a subaru real bad, but it all depends on if there are any out at that time. Also I dont really want to keep the mustang because a "muscle" car is kinda useless as a muscle car if its auto. Uh no offense Hell Strike. I want a standard one. So I think I should just sell it, maybe get a stock subie. Then buy a standard later that had better paint/interior.
These look surprisingly rugged for a new SUV.
I've saw a few of these around with a few inch lift with rock guard bumpers and a roof rack. It looked really nice.

If it is a floor automatic buy a hurst shifter for it. It's pretty much the same thing exept no clutch and faster shifting.

The baracuda uses it, heck of alot easier then when the coronet was a manual.
