Man 2 cats and 2 mufflers? That seems pretty restrictive. The Cherrybomb's tend to be REALLY loud, but they really bring out a nice sound. Also ya I am surprised at how reformed a straight piped WRX sounds, but when you lay on the throttle past about 4k RPM the sound is pretty much a gush of wind and a unbearable screaming mess, but it sounds mean. YOur V8 straight piped though...would be an absolute loud mess under load. Would sound good at low RPM's though.
Well my truck has a dual exhaust setup from the engine all the way to the rear, so what i mean by two is, it has one cat and one muffler on each pipe/side going back.
Here is the original, raw video i just uploaded..The video is definitely better because the aspect ratio isn't fucked and 1080p actually looks good, but i don't know about the audio...Wouldn't surprise me if that was higher quality as well:
Basically. It's also good to extend the life of your brakes since you don't ride them to every stop light, but consequently, it'll wear down your clutch and syncros a bit faster if you don't double clutch and rev match. It may be negligible though, since you're slowing down there won't be much load on the clutch/syncros.
How would using the engine to brake save fuel? If you're in a lower gear, then your engine turns faster than your wheels, so then the car would be pulling the engine faster than idle. And if it's spinning faster than idle, then doesn't that mean that it is pulling more air through, and using more fuel?

This is true. Not to mention that engine breaking in a manual car wears the clutch down faster.

how the fuck do you manage that
This is true. Not to mention that engine breaking in a manual car wears the clutch down faster.
Not if you don't change your gears like a mother.
No fuel is injected, at all when engine braking.
how the fuck do you manage that
Maybe I am thinking about when my dad would slow his car down by downshifting without giving the engine gas before re-engaging the clutch. Which in turn slowed the car down, but puts alot of stress on the clutch. Once the clutch is engaged though slowing down using the engine is fine.

that's how my dad does it to. I've tried to tell him that even at the least, blip the throttle a bit to rev match.

Ya the Rev matching on a 370Z is cool, but it isn't true manual. I don't want a car to do the work for me.

What's the bar on the left that keeps movie around when he shifts?

Did you two even read my posts?
What's the bar on the left that keeps movie around when he shifts?
Its the amount of power being delivered to the pussy magnet obviously. Godda pay extra to have the magnet installed.
However according to the manual its the fuel consumption.
Just got a new stereo in my truck (If you saw my video i said i blew it up). It's still nothing special but it's a lot more kick ass than the previous one i had, it's basically this stereo, but a newer model, it looks a bit different:

I've got some more goodies coming after Christmas. A new head unit and a few sets of offroad lights. Four Hella FF75's and some KC Daylighers (or IPF 968's)
Put my amp in my wagon today :D But my subs fucking suck.
everyone post what they need to do with their car still
I need to get new tire air valve covers, hubcaps possibly, and paint my windshield wipers
[editline]13th December 2010[/editline]
is a cold air intake worth it?
I've been told that it saves gas (doubt it) but no it isn't worth it. You already have a cold air system technically so just get a high flow filter and it would have just about the same effects.
Replace ball joint, fix exhaust leak, exhaust shield is rattling against the firewall, fix sunroof leak, and install the stuff I mentioned above.
yeah I figured it wasn't worth it
I'll probably just keep my car stock
is a cold air intake worth it?
Really depends on the car.
On mine, a regular CAI isn't worth it, because it gets air from the engine bay just like the stock one, but you can make one for around $20 that gets cold air from the fender that is worth it.
a new exhaust might be good, but I don't want to make my car sound like shit
I gotta.... put the muffler on
and that's it
figure out why my power steering is whining
fix sagging front bumper
tighten my heatshield since it's rattling
get tmic
ugh, one hub cap costs $23.95
I hit a curb and my rear hub cap got damaged so I wanted to replace it, but it might be good to replace all four if I feel like spending ~$100. they're 7 years old.
I need to Transfer some of the weather stripping from some old chevy doors i bought onto my current doors, and then install my new Turbo 400 transmission this weekend and get my horn properly wired up so it works again. That's about it. Not too difficult, doors is probably the hardest part, the horn is one wire and the transmission just bolts right up in place of my current one and it's good to go.
I need to get new locking hubs but those are over $100 per wheel so i can't afford those right now, besides my current ones work fine now that i got them cleaned and re-greased, they are just ugly as fuck and old really.
Only thing I need to fix is my fuel filler neck, it broke in my accident and leaks fuel.
Other than that, I want to get a lightweight crank pulley, saggy butt spacers, and strut bars.
My cars only a year old and already falling apart. Alternator Possibly Not charging properly (either that or Chevy fucked up the electrical design of this car), Window Washer Pump blew, and The driverside Heat Temp. Control motor died. Yet I Still love my car.
this is the hub cap my car uses:
