This is just a thought, but maybe there should be regular drivers ed to get your drivers license, then make it a requirement to take class for snow driving within a certain amount of time?
This is just a thought, but maybe there should be regular drivers ed to get your drivers license, then make it a requirement to take class for snow driving within a certain amount of time?
no that`s fucking stupid, people that can`t drive worth shit before driver`s ed they still can`t drive worth shit after except they can say they took a class people take that class and pass all the time even though they suck, same with licenses making it a requirement would piss people that CAN drive off, like me seriously, in winter= go slow, don`t floor it that`s it
oh ho ho coming back from friends house, i roll up on this intersection and what do i see beside me in the turn lane? Ricer CRX, blue with red wheels. I ignore it because i just wanted to get home. The light for both of us turns to green, i take off normally but hear that familiar clunking stall sound come from the CRX. So I punch it while im still in first, spin in to second and im out. Also, the whole tampa bay area had rain today so me and my friends family with the 700hp 98 cobra didnt go to the dyno day.
got my first speeding ticket wednesday. 96mph in a 55 zone. :v:
moron
I take it you are one of the idiots that can't drive in the snow?
No, I was assuming you were, since you want winter driving lessons to be mandatory. l2brake
No, I was assuming you were, since you want winter driving lessons to be mandatory. l2brake
I assumed you were because you are against the idea of a class on snow driving. If you are a good snow driver, you would have no problem passing. l2powerslide
I assumed you were because you are against the idea of a class on snow driving. [editline]19th December 2010[/editline] The point I'm trying to make is, if someone sucks at driving, they suck at driving. Driving in winter is simple as long as you understand one thing, like I said: go slow. I don't want to pay money just for that because some idiots want to be jdmtyte driftarus in the winter and wrap their car around a pole oh and I powerslide pretty much everyday, huge parking lot by my house, and I live in the country with some of the most snowfall in the world :c00l:

Also passed my test the first time. So what you are saying is, you are fine with driving on roads with other people that cant drive for shit?
moron
On a wide open highway with no one around (except a cop, apparently :argh:) what would you do?
On a wide open highway with no one around (except a cop, apparently :argh:) what would you do?
the speed limit
Apoc?????
=D Hey, my CRX isn't THAT rice. Oh, and I'm keeping it and fixing it. 12:1 compression N/A motor is in my future.

So what you are saying is, you are fine with driving on roads with other people that cant drive for shit?
here, after 2 years of having your full license you have a choice of getting an advanced license (you can drive after a few beers, more demerits, other benefits, etc.) oh, and I hate people that can`t drive, but I would rather not have to pay for a mandatory class just because THEY suck
seriously, in winter= go slow, don`t floor it
There's so much more to driving on snowy and icy roads than "don't floor it."
There's so much more to driving on snowy and icy roads than "don't floor it."
the first and main thing I said is 'go slow' pretty sure most winter accidents are because people are going too fast for the conditions, which= can't slow down in time/spin out/lose control
Those new Optimas have a sweet sound system in them.
Ed's wagon Power/weight: 14.76 pounds per hp (SHITTY DYNO GO) My projected CRX power/weight: 14.61-13.57 depending on how cheap I am :smug:
Anyone else agree with me that kias are looking like a good buy lately? Good warranty, cars are looking nicer and nicer (this one, and forte), and they're cheap to boot but this whole sound system thing, I NEVER understood, I mean, I used to see in car advertisements: "305 horsepower V6, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and a LSD" or "Available sport suspension with LED headlights" or some shit, but now it's: "WHOA YOU CAN PLUG IN YOUR IPOD" "OMG LOOK BLUETOOTH HOLY SHIT" "STORE YOUR FAVOURITE SONGS HERE" and no info on the car itself... and now this whole speaker craze, I mean, honestly, if I was buying a car for the speakers, I wouldn't buy a Kia. OR I could put in some speakers and easily surpass that quality with less money, just more hassle I want to know what is under the hood and how reliable it is and its safety ratings even suspension info etc. etc. etc., not some electronic shit I can put in myself
the first and main thing I said is 'go slow' pretty sure most winter accidents are because people are going too fast for the conditions, which= can't slow down in time/spin out/lose control
This is true, but still, you can slip and slide all over even when you're going slow. Say if you had a kid. Would you tell them to just go slow and hope for the best or go out and show them what to do it all kinds of different situations?
This is true, but still, you can slip and slide all over even when you're going slow. Say if you had a kid. Would you tell them to just go slow and hope for the best or go out and show them what to do it all kinds of different situations?
Honestly, thinking about it right now, I would just probably teach him how to downshift and that`s it other than normal driving stuff. There are so many things that can happen that the one universal factor is `go slow`. Prepping him for everything would probably confuse him snce there are so many things that could happen. `point the wheels where you want the car to go. go slow. let go off the gas to regain grip if you start spinning out` is probs all i would say, idk the most I would do is take him to an empty parking lot and purposelly make him drive fast on ice to see what it feels like etc. [editline]19th December 2010[/editline] btw all of the above would only work because I`ll teach him how to be a pro driver, all of the above would be useless for some already dumb driver who can`t even merge right
On a wide open highway with no one around (except a cop, apparently :argh:) what would you do?
70 tops. I never go more than 15 over on a 4-lane divided highway or 5-10 over on a 2-lane rural highway.
Ed's wagon Power/weight: 14.76 pounds per hp (SHITTY DYNO GO) My projected CRX power/weight: 14.61-13.57 depending on how cheap I am :smug:
i think mine is 10.8 right now
no that`s fucking stupid, people that can`t drive worth shit before driver`s ed they still can`t drive worth shit after except they can say they took a class people take that class and pass all the time even though they suck, same with licenses making it a requirement would piss people that CAN drive off, like me seriously, in winter= go slow, don`t floor it that`s it
I took driving classes here and they helped a lot. Taught a kid like me important shit like the difference between ABS-brakes and NON-abs brakes. There's a lot of stuff kids don't learn because they don't read the book, they learn how to pass the test. That's it.
i think mine is 10.8 right now
Mine is about 18.5 right now. If I wanted to, I could go out and take off about 300lbs and add maybe 5 hp in a couple minutes and make it around 16. I have seen some GC's that people have managed to take 600lbs off.
i dynod my car today disappointing to say the least
