90`s technology and standards now is different but not amazingly different
We have radars, computers watching over the car's state and driving behaviour, driving assistants that do everything for you on the highway, you can have a whole library of music right at your fingertips as well as internet in your goddamn car. I beg to differ.
lol there is a difference between calling a 1976 truck old and a 1995 truck old
by old we mean like older than the 90`s
90`s technology and standards now is different but not amazingly different
70`s and now is like a whole different world
Most trucks i see from the 90's have more problems than the trucks I see from the 70's.
Trucks in the 70's were built a lot tougher than the ones in the 90's.
They are also more capable offroad due to the solid axles.
Hmm going to prepare this tomorrow..

there was radars in the 90`s
driving assistants that change the car`s behaviour are only in a few top of the line cars (braking with sensors n shit)
and internet and music has nothing to do with safety
dude I`m on your side
I`m just saying that there is a much bigger difference between 70`s and now when compared to 90`s now
ldesu said that difference is minor, but I don`t agree

A well known problem for Chevy trucks from the 90's is the automatic transmissions failing
About trucks being built tougher, the solid front axle alone makes them much tougher.
Need more than that, and I could find some.
Edit:
Dodge also is known for having problems with transmissions in the 90s. Might have been thinking of them rather than Chevy.

Yes of course there's a bigger difference. The difference between the 90s and today just lies on a completely new level of hi-tech rather than mechanics alone. It is in fact amazing.
Also even my mom's cheapass Astra got lots of fancy safety electronics, they're not really limited to expensive cars anymore. Also, ESP is going to be a mandatory standard within the EU soon.
lol you talk about fancy electronics 90s cars have.. my car has power steering and power brakes and that's it

I was just pointing out one example. Could find some more.
lol you talk about fancy electronics 90s cars have.. my car has power steering and power brakes and that's it
because your car is lower, cheaper trim obviously
no offense but most cars from the 90`s have at least ABS
oh and

Straight piped my mustang.. best idea ever.

unless yours isn't as loud as mine was, it will get old, quick.
Straight piped my mustang.. best idea ever.
Isn't it a V6?
Lame.
unless yours isn't as loud as mine was, it will get old, quick.
Drone is pretty bad. Only because it stops right after the axle though, going to an exhaust shop to get a pipe put on there to bring it back to the trim as a muffler would. Should eliminate the in-cab drone. Only reason it does that is because the spare tire opening is right there so the exhaust is basically going straight into my trunk, then straight into my cab.
@Prismatex
Yeah, unfortunately. Have to start somewhere I suppose. Doesn't sound like a v6 anymore, that's the reason I love it.

its not a dual exhaust either is it
you've got a y-pipe don't you

My insurance is dumb enough without dual exhaust, which raises it even more. So no, single pipe. Don't plan to dual for the fact that i'll only have it for another year, then getting a 2011 5.0.

Thanks. Thankfully it's holding it's value, so i'll still be getting about 16k trade in value towards the end of this year.
I heard that if you buy a car that is labeled as naturally aspirated and you switch the engine to a turbo (talking about MKIII supra, 7m to 2jz), the insurance agency will make you pay for the non-turbo stock engine because that's what the car is labeled as.
I don't believe this, anyone know if it's true?
Also, my teenage self has changed my view perspective, I love the s chassis from nissan.

If they find out, no. They change it to what it is. But you can get away with anything if you just lie a little bit. Have a friend with a v6 camaro chassis with a 383 stroked v8 in it. Just depends on if you're willing to risk insurance fraud. I wouldn't.
single pipe crew repin

that's not happening.
that's not happening.
Then don't do it.
My insurance company doesn't give two shits about any mods I do.

there are a lot more trucks from the 90s still on the road than trucks from the 70s still on the road
