I love Top Gear but they are far from factual. Taking them seriously for car reviews is a horrible idea. They make simple mistakes such as calling a V6 Mustang a Mustang GT (Huge difference) and denouncing it for being slow and unwieldy. This is an entertainment show and their reviews are about as good as me saying "That car is shit, don't buy it" or "I went 180MPH in it, you should definitely get it"
Blame the office for choosing the wrong cars, not the hosts. But when they say the ride is bad and the car doesn't respond well and the suspension is rubbish it's not like you need to study the car to know that. You get in and see for yourself, which is what they do.

Any car can corner given its setup and muscle cars weren't setup up for that. They were always set up to go fuckin'fast from the factory. I can take a 69' Camaro and make it a track car by changing the suspension, shedding a little weight, brakes, a nice set of tires, and it'll still be a muscle car. It's like why the fuck do people constantly say they can't corner or their too heavy? We know that, the manufacturers knew that and every car was heavy back then without making it a sub-compact.

An older European or Japanese car will usually weigh less than their modern counterparts.
my mustangs lowered with eibach springs and energy shocks, and it goes around corners quite nicely. well it goes around them as fast as I dare try to go around them i need to get a harness thing instead of a seatbelt i fucking hate when i take a turn faster than normal and i slide all over the car
And if you look at the Challenger Hammond drove, apart from not being very good at corners, the brakes were nice, the ride was nice, the interior was nice, it was fast(though not as fast as the Cadillac or the Corvette), etc. [editline]26th October 2010[/editline]
What they say is purely subjective. But the fact is, the suspension in old muscle cars and even some new ones is very crappy. Sure, you can put in a new suspension, which is what I would do if for some reason I wanted to buy one, but the suspension in old and some new muscle cars is as sophisticated and modern as a trilobite.

-snippety snip- mixed *Freezorg* up with Javascript
Oh there he is! The guy who thinks subwoofers are rice :buddy: Hello, I missed you
Nope, I never said anything similar.

That's pretty much the perfect description.
i think you are all idiots stop throwing around the most generalized and misused term there is... grow up and talk about cars not how people are dumb with theirs, they wouldnt spend the money if they didnt find it personally worth it
Nope, I never said anything similar.
Ah, sorry. I mixed you up with Javascript. He's the one who said that
Friend's BMW M3, just put a cold air intake in it. Next step? Suggestions? No ricer shit like "SUBWUFFERS LUL"

i think you are all idiots stop throwing around the most generalized and misused term there is... grow up and talk about cars not how people are dumb with theirs, they wouldnt spend the money if they didnt find it personally worth it
Just stopping by... persecution complex much? It's bad enough some of you actually call ricer the "R word".
I'm sorry, they were asked to review the car and that's what they did, they covered all the basis, you know, like you're supposed to do in a car review. So what you are saying is they shouldn't test cars properly and only show the good side of them.
Oh, ok then. I will now proceed to haul 3 tons of cargo using a Ferrari 360 for 8 hours. That's how a pickup was tested, so that must mean the Ferraris should be tested in the same manner. Reviews are not subjective when the reviewers are not idiots and can actually distinguish one class of car from another. Yes, I called the Top Gear hosts idiots. Lynch me.
dont forget the off road test, and the rock climbing test [editline]26th October 2010[/editline] i mean, thats what they do for jeeps...
Or the diff test, and the trailer/incline test.
dont forget the off road test, and the rock climbing test [editline]26th October 2010[/editline] i mean, thats what they do for jeeps...
Or the ever-more popular Suburban road with a few dead leafs test.
Yeah, but have you ever driven a V6 Mustang? That's pretty much the perfect description.
Yeah that is true. Have you driven the V8 Mustang GT? That is a whole different ball game. Calling a V6 Mustang a Mustang GT and then proceeding to bash it is wrong on every level. That's like coming to the conclusion that the WRX and STI are slow based on driving the plain old Impreza.
Hey, I heard you guys liked ricers.
mustang gts have little over 300bhp lol
mustang gts have little over 300bhp lol
No, the new V6 makes a little over 300bhp.
No, the new V6 makes a little over 300bhp.
"the 2010 Mustang GT's V8 offers 315 bhp"
"the 2010 Mustang GT's V8 offers 315 bhp"
The 2011 Mustang GT gets 412HP and the V6 gets 305HP which is about time. I was sick of underpowered American muscle.

top gear is a fucking amazing show if you don't take their reviews seriously they were talking about how the sti understeers and shit, and then I realized they have the fagged up version with a slower engine and viscous center diff instead of the DCCD
top gear is a fucking amazing show if you don't take their reviews seriously they were talking about how the sti understeers and shit, and then I realized they have the fagged up version with a slower engine and viscous center diff instead of the DCCD
but the fagged up version with the slower engine does understeer so they were right really top gear is a fucking amazing show, and here is why: 1. it is about cars 2. it is exciting since they make everything a lot more entertaining than I thought possible 3. they have cool shots/angles 4. they go to cool places 5. the cars are fucking awesome 6. jeremy is a champ 7. may's theme song he plays on the little keyboard is awesome 8. hammond is funny because he's short 8. some say that his voice can only be heard by cats, and that he has two sets of knees... v:v:v
Top Gear is an entertainment show in my books. They constantly crack jokes, which is why it appeals to me. It's hilarious, and they get amazing cars to drive.
The 2011 Mustang GT gets 412HP and the V6 gets 305HP which is about time. I was sick of underpowered American muscle.
Ford rates their engines at the fly wheel. 2011 GT gets 363HP at the wheels.
