I think they just need to make the tests themselves harder, there is too much of a difference between one driving school and the next, as in one failing someone for something minor and the other not giving a fuck.
Precisely. My drivers test was ridiculously easy. The instructor gave me a quick quiz on what the different signals mean and dash indications. That was basic, but the real "test" was the thing that made me mad. She tested me on maneuverability, had me drive around the block, and that was it. Passed with no problem, but so could anybody with a test that easy. It lets the stupid teenagers have their license, which is the biggest mistake. And I HATE when friends and family look at me and think, "Hey, he's a teenager and must be the shittiest driver to ever hit the pavement."
new page bros ordered the following: disk brake conversion all around polyurethane bushings rack & pinion steering new fender and door aluminum radiator new trunk floor new floor and all the materials we'll need to paint it somma dat vibrant green SHEEIT for the camaro said he ordered all that with a 15% discount and saved like $900

I even took the advanced license test (so I can have 2 beers and drive or work as a driver for companies, they require this license). And even it was easy as hell. And really, if driving isn't easy for someone, I don't think they should be doing it by themselves. Practise with someone until they get good but until then they shouldn't have a license to be able to drive by themselves. I know SO many people that shouldn't have a license, ugh [editline]2nd November 2010[/editline] rollin in dat vibrant greeeeeeeen :frogc00l:
should we get yenko stripes or stick with the ss stripes
Seriously, I can't wait to see this Camaro when it's done.
Yeah. Instead they are given the freedom right away. Bothers me. I also wish there are "levels" of licenses over here in the states. Some requiring more practice if you need it and others indicating that you are skillful enough. [editline]2nd November 2010[/editline]
should we get yenko stripes or stick with the ss stripes
Love the Yenko stripes but I would stick with the SS.
See the sad part is we have a levels system. You get your Drivers PERMIT at 16 (15 1/2 if you take drivers Ed) and then you have to wait 9 months till you may take a road-test. In this time you must drive with an adult who's had a licence for 5+ years. Then if you pass the roadtest you may drive alone, but only have 1 passenger in the car after 10PM. Then after 15 months you receive your Full licence. Sadly its not working here. Just 2 weeks ago, I got hit by a kid who made a Multi lane change without signalling, WHILE TEXTING ON HIS PHONE. It's not the same for everywhere, but MOST of the bad drivers In my City are Under 20, Or Immigrants who Don't understand English or our laws very well.. And what doesn't help is the government is scared of the Race card. When I wrote my written test at 16 to get my Permit, I was not allowed to take anything in with me, they patted me down to make sure i didnt have cheat notes or a cellphone. Yet the Young east indian lady beside me was allowed to have a Drivers Manual for the test. SHE FAILED IT by getting 10 out of 19 questions wrong.
This was at work today, sounded AMAZING.

[editline]2nd November 2010[/editline] And you're right, it doesn't work at all.
I took drivers ed, took a road test after passing like 4 written tests, had to go 12 months having someone 25+ years old with 5 years driving experience with me at all times, and then another 12 months where i can drive alone 6am-10pm and then after that it was a full class D.
If they would simply Monitor Young people somehow, just to check up once and a while. Like 4 months ago They banned Cellphones while driving, Yet I see 50 - 65 people a day texting away on cellphones. They are not enforcing it worth shit. Though Since i swapped everything on my car for Winter, it's fun watching people scramble to hide their phones cuz they think a cop pulled up. Nice impala. My mom has one in silver and it's nice but bleh, terrible to drive. It's gigantic. Then again, my car is tiny in comparison.

Then 2 years of safe driving=able to take advanced license (less than half the people take it because it`s not mandatory, just a benefit really) I miss going around cones in driver`s ed, went hella fast :smug: [editline]2nd November 2010[/editline] FoxDonut, I`m just wondering, why did you choose to get an Impala LTZ instead of the many other cars you could have bought with that money?
if I see people using cell phones while driving then I usually try to get the fuck away from them [editline]1st November 2010[/editline]
Though Since i swapped everything on my car for Winter, it's fun watching people scramble to hide their phones cuz they think a cop pulled up. *images*
i got a boner

The suspension they get with those engines suck too, They are Meant for old people.. I have the "FE3" Suspension that The Cop Cars/ Impala SS got, and I have Strut Tower braces. Mine handles like a Dream (for a Big ass American 4 door Boat that is) What do you think Looks better. The cop car look? Or with Rims and Some aftermarket Equip?
Thats terrible. I drove around with somebody 25+yo for 6months. Then I took one written test, and a 5 minute driving test. Then I took a 45 minute road-test which took me through school zones, hazard perception, etc. Then, you get your N. This lets you carry one passenger that is not immediately family for the next 2 years. After 2 years, you can take your Class 5 test which is much more rigorous (Takes you downtown, highways, etc) and once you pass that, you have your full license. Your full license has to be renewed every 5 years.
I can drive anybody i want anywhere I want at any time. I love California. [editline]1st November 2010[/editline] OH GOD WHY. My friend is buying kinect for xbox instead of putting it towards a truck he's been wanting. WHY?!?!

I tried it at PAX 2010, can honestly say it's alright, but not worth the price. It's fun 'casual-gaming' like the silly boxing game they have, or the dance game, but it's nothing worth spending truck money on.
I have. But he wont listen. I do not understand some people In other news. I went and got the brake booster and battery for that bronco. Going to replace them tomoroow, and if it drives. Ill buy it. Cant wait.
Any one here into ATV's? I am going to do a writeup on mine shortly.

Here's a writeup on my ATV; 2005 Suzuki Kingquad 700 (aka LTA700X) 5500miles/620hours Engine rebuilt at 1200miles 2" lift with 1.5" spacers on each side in rear 27x9-12 front/27x10-12 rear ITP Mudlite XL's Clutching: Custom modified primary, with yellow spring on secondary. Set up for good 0-40mph, maxes at around 65mph. Mildly modified exhaust Warn 2.5ci winch (2500lb) UNI air filter switch spliced in to check for codes (forgot what its called) Drivetrain modes: 2wd 4wd 4wd with diff lock Things wrong with it: All suspension bushings are bad Bearing gone in clutch area Belt is far past service life It's perfectly rideable as it is, but the belt being past its service life makes the gear ratio extremely low. I haven't rode it in months, but I am going to get it out soon and see what kind of shape the rest of it is in. I think we got it in '06 for $3500. Not bad considering it was worth twice that. Since that picture was taken, I have but the stock bumper back on and took the lights on the front rack off. All of the work (except the engine rebuild) was done by me.
up in Michigan in order to get your "level 1" (pretty much your learner's) you have to have 24 hours of in class instruction, 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructor and 4 hours observation. for level 2(license, except you can't drive late at night or somethng) you gotta have at least 30 hours(10 at night) of driving. never did my test there or anything so i can't say anything about the test. shits always cooler in Michigan.

My dad and I have a matching set of quads, '97 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4s. They aren't bad, but not much for workhorses. the automatic means they can't pull shit or you slip the belts and burn the shit out of them. It has the CVT that always stays engaged, than it has a wet clutch. The wet clutch is sorta like a torque converter and a car clutch mixed together. If you have seen one and know how they work, you will know what I mean.
Yeah, my uncle has a big suzuki with that setup. I kinda prefer it over the scramblers, but the scramblers are much faster. Probably lighter though, so that might be it.

Probably lighter though, so that might be it.
The weight difference is somewhere around 30lbs. From the little research I did, the dry weight of a 500 Scrambler is 570lbs and the dry weight of my king quad is 600lbs. I don't know how fast a Scrambler is, but I know that stock KingQuads are really slow. I had 26" tires (worn down to around 25") and with a little clutch work, I made my King faster than one with stock tires (the stock tires measure to about 23" tall) After I put my 27"s on, I did a little more clutch work and managed to keep it faster than a stock KingQuad.
I've been looking at a truck recently, one with a Military 6.2 Detroit in it to be specific. Jesus Christ these things are loud.
Ford is crazy with Interceptors.
