whoops, it's a "pony car." my bad
Which is basically only used to describe a Mustang/other Fords. Not really a reference to the power it puts out. Edit: The sound is just... beautiful. Indescribably beautiful.
i was always told a pony car was a car with a big engine compartment and a small trunk which does describe the camaro, and the mustang kinda.
i was always told a pony car was a car with a big engine compartment and a small trunk which does describe the camaro, and the mustang kinda.
I have heard that once actually. But I've heard it used to describe a Mustang countless times. Who knows. Haha.
OH MY GOD THAT TRUCK IS AMAZING. Cons: Engine isnt running right. (stock) Engine isnt connected to the (custom) transmission right. Floorpan has a little rust. No Speakers. Pros: Lifted. Mud Tires. (300 miles on them) Custom-- Dash Guages Steering wheel Transmission Shifter Lights (A hunter owned it before and hooked up the lights to a separate battery. Each side of the lights in the front are independently controlled.) Front and back bumpers -- Body in great condition. Good paint. Roll cage. Hard Top convertible. Good Windows. Moon Roof. Interior is stripped, but what matters is there and in good condition. Couldnt get pictures because it was night by the time I went to see it. I love it already. All for $900. Good deal?
Yeh but how much are you going to fork out to fix all the cons? And are there anymore that you missed because it was dark?

Even then, you should be able to find an engine and transmission for it for around $500. Rust is an easy fix, so isn't no speakers.
Yeh but how much are you going to fork out to fix all the cons? And are there anymore that you missed because it was dark?
Im willing to toss out quite a bit. I have been wanting one almost exactly like this for a very long time. And probably not. I had a flashlight and I did a pretty good lookover with it.
haha you`re saying some shitty custom things make up for the engine running badly and not even connected to the tranny? lol?
Yeah actually I do. All that stuff could cost me $1500+ to buy separately. Why not get this when I could get an engine to replace it and a tranny for under $1000 IF the engine is completely bad. Which it isnt. And its connected to the tranny. But for some reason its not connected right. Sputters in 2nd and 3rd. [editline]5th November 2010[/editline]
I'd say go for it. Im not sure what he said exactly. im going to see it again tomorrow and get my mechanic friends to take a goood look at it. And yes. A new set of tranny and engine with low miles would cost less than all the custom parts by themselves. And its not like I NEED it to get to school. I have a car for that.

Hold up, what truck are you looking at again? It's a pretty good deal in my opinion. For a DD, no, but if you want to have some fun with it... hell yea. A truck like the one you're describing can get pretty pricy with those accessories. The mud tires and lift kit can run you 700-1,500 alone. Go for it. After I get a job I'm going to put a 3" BL on my Ex. Maybe add a 2" suspension later. Probably going to go for some Cragar Soft 8's and Michelin wranglers... or BFG All terrains. Got the idea from this guy: [img_thumb]http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac239/grant00/DSCN1316.jpg[/img_thumb] Not completely, just the wheels and tires.
yeah, mountain/survival/camping/trailing truck. Its a 1976 Ramcharger. Thing is freaking huge. I could drive over any prius I could find.
what's wrong with a prius?
Hahahaha thats funny. I myself dislike them with a firey passion. They're small, slow, and ugly.
yeah, mountain/survival/camping/trailing truck. Its a 1976 Ramcharger. Thing is freaking huge. I could drive over any prius I could find.
Oh yea, definitely go for it. I would love to have a truck like that myself. You ever watch Xtreme 4x4 on powerblock? Random question, I know.
small
it's a mid-size car do you want to drive around like 15 people?
slow
they're good enough. their acceleration isn't that bad, but they're not meant to be fast.
ugly.
I agree with this they look like shit
Oh yea, definitely go for it. I would love to have a truck like that myself. You ever watch Xtreme 4x4 on powerblock? Random question, I know.
I have been wanting a truck to do that for a long time. So Im stoked. And no i havnt watched it. Any good? [editline]5th November 2010[/editline]
it's a mid-size car do you want to drive around like 15 people? Sometimes yes. Beach: Here I come (with all of my friends) they're good enough. their acceleration isn't that bad, but they're not meant to be fast. Exactly. I have no need for a "fast enough" car. I agree with this they look like shit Yes. They do.
Yup.
I have been wanting a truck to do that for a long time. So Im stoked. And no i havnt watched it. Any good?
Yea it is actually. The whole powerblock series (Xtreme 4x4, Horsepower TV, Trucks, and Muscle Car) has a bunch of tips, builds, and other useful stuff. It's on Spike every Saturday morning at 11 or something like that. www.powerblocktv.com I love having a big, heavy, slow SUV rather than a "fast" mid-size.
Sounds cool. Ill check it out, thanks. I already have a car that has the potential to go very fast. Now I got to get me a huge truck. :v:
Sounds cool. Ill check it out, thanks. I already have a car that has the potential to go very fast. Now I got to get me a huge truck. :v:
dude if you have a 95 gt why not spend some money on that if apparently `it has the potential to go very fast` why have 2 shitty bad condition cars when you could have one okay condition/kind of fast you're digging yourself a hole here, you have all these plans for your GT (turbo lol, suspension, whatever) then now you just ditch that and get an even bigger project which will be hard as fuck, good luck dropping a new engine and tranny in if you didn't even know how an intake worked like a month ago I'm not hatin' I'm just sayin that you should definitely reconsider

If you think it doesnt youre an idiot. And my car is not in bad condition. Once the engine is fixed on the truck neither is it. If you would have payed attention you would have noticed that I ditched the turbo and plan on only adding some basic stuff to the engine. try to think before you criticize. Again. Because its possible....just maybe!...... that I know people who DO know how to put an engine and tranny in. GASP! And you are "hatin" Seriously, I admitted I was wrong. Now be helpful or go screw yourself.

You're the idiot if you think you can handle working on a 34 year old car if you just learned simple things. No matter how good condition it is, things WILL need to be replaced and already, the engine is fucked and so is the tranny. What the FUCK is the point of buying a car 'that you can work on' when you're gonna get your friends to do everything. Just stick to upgrading you GT then when you learn a bit more consider a project car. It has nothing to do with criticizing, I just don't want to see a bunch of posts about your friends fixing the engine or your friends installing the new tranny or your friends whatever. Your choice either way though, and I am being helpful, you 'can go screw yourself' if you think what you're doing is a good idea and getting pissed at someone's who's trying to prevent you from doing something dumb [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Limited edition, 50+ hp than the normal one, UK only 'like a Brabus but with a Merc warranty'

I have never had a repair on an engine that I havnt learned how to fix, and fix my self. I can learn anything I need to. but for something that would take way to long to learn right off the bat (i.e. Replacing an engine) I would have a friend do it. And the tranny is fine. I dont care what you want to see me post about. As long as it stick with the subject matter, I can post as much as I please. And you are not being helpful. Ever since I first posted in here you have done nothing but criticize me. Other users have asked questions about it then simply stated their opinion. Maybe thats what you consider "helping", but I dont. Or maybe your choice of speaking method just looks like criticism to me.
Ahhhh. Ok. Is it? Im uneducated on ramchargers. Also Im a bit worried about the engine problem. Posting a link to the ad would be nice. I dont know about the body. Im going to see it today. Ill try and remember to get pictures. If you want ill post them here.

The pictures? I couldnt, it was pretty dark. Tomorrow for sure though. But the body looks almost perfect. But then again. it was dark.
So who else enjoys doing skids on city streets? :smug:
i cant do that
So who else enjoys doing skids on city streets? :smug:
Depends what you mean by "skids."
