Well the thing is that the car is no dodge neon, it all solid steel and it's built like a tank so for it to move around effectively it needs a v8 because it would murder anything lower. Unless it's a really strong V6.

Also Doc H. Buy a 440 with something like a single 4 barrel carborator, they are quite common and make shitloads of power if you invest a little into it. Around in the 70s the ramcharger was made with a 440 but it was a little rare, so the only problem is finding the 4x4 transmission. The ramcharger I'm looking at is a 1977 red and white ramcharger and it has a 400 which I guess is in the middle of the 440 and the 383 so it's nothing too massive, but you never can get anything too big. My dream engine is this 904 cui hemi, http://www.schubeckracing.com/index2.html
I would want a larger engine than a 350. But he is selling it in the car (which is running and drivable) for $300. I could buy it for $300, then pull the engine and sell the rest of the car for $200 and have a 5.7L V8 for $100.
Great deal but Corvette's are dick extenders, but I guess it's cooler than the average rice rocket or common comuter car. Never really liked them exept the really old ones.
Look around and I'm sure you will be able to find a 440, I have a complete one near me for $600. Take note you would have to the 4x4 for that 350, I think that's common though. That or look for the more common 340, 360, 383, or 400. A ford in a dodge would just ruin the truck for me.
Let me tell you a story, Facepunch.
In my area, there was a '79 Corvette. It was in flawless, new condition. The woman that owned it kept everything in it sterile and got it maintained as often as she could afford. Her boyfriend/husband bought it and then split up with her or died or something similar, and she got it.
It was perfect. The leather was original and didn't have a single split or scuff. The carpet was original and didn't have a single stain. The engine worked beautifully and the AC didn't even smell. There were less than 1,000 miles on it.
The problem was, it reminded her too much of her boyfriend/husband, so she decided to sell it so she could move on...For $1500.
I wasn't doing well at the time, and I moved as fast as I could, but some guy got there first. He drove away in it.
Fuck.
Yeah. But for right now I think Ill stick with what it has. Its good enough to get me and friends up to mountains and can haul a bit of stuff. Next step: Back seat.
Even if the guy doesn't bring a flatbed they disconnect the shaft.
Dumbest comment of the night guys? Yes.
But when DO they disconnect it. I know I've seen it done before.
Had my first accident today!
I was in the left turn lane sitting there. There's a median next to me and everything. A Pontiac Grand Am comes from the oncoming lane doing 45mph. He drifts to where the curb and median is, and he sideswiped my car with his fucking mirror. The mirror on his car is fine, holy shit it was a strong mirror. It dented my side and ripped off part of the rubber bumper on the side of my car. He grinded to a halt on top of the sidewalk median and got out of his car. I pulled into the neighborhood street and ran out to him to ask him if I could help. His reply:
"You're fucking stupid, why are you in the turn lane?"
:downs:
I walked away and got my insurance information. I called the Police, they said they would try to make it there in 30 minutes, but they never came. It was pretty simple once he calmed down. On top of the great luck of being 16 and having my X5 hit, it started raining which made everything else worse. Luckily my car has seat warmers and a heater. I have one accident forgiveness on my insurance, so I hope this will get out of my way. I'll take picture tomorrow when it's not 12:30 midnight.
If the accident is 100% his fault as inspected by the insurance people, then it shouldn`t do anything to your insurance or anything.

yeah they're behind compared to today's european cars because it's 30 years old

you don't find cars like that in america anymore
A kid in my auto-tech class had an 87 Toyota Supra, the turbo one. It was in good condition. Only problem was, it had a blown head gasket. So the retard who owned it decided he didn't to spend the money to fix it so he sold it.
For $300...
We told him over and over and over and over again "Fix the damn thing and sell it for 10 times that price!" but his head was too fucking thick. He sold it for $300 and used the money and some saved up money to buy a 90's Toyota Celica.
Lol, 7MGTE and their headgaskets.
Photoshopped new rims on my Cutlass to see how they look.

is anyone familiar with motorcycles here? if so, how hard do you think it would be for me to learn how to shift? I've never used a manual transmission before, never rode dirt bikes, etc. the only two wheel thing I've rode is a bicycle.
thanks

This is a cars thread, not a motorcycle thread

I would rather just have a "sport mode" activation switch than having to carry two keys everywhere.
