Depending on the options and shape its in as well as mileage, that could be a good price.
You guys know I tune my own car rite? lololol
Explain.
How does it affect anything? A chip for a 1.3 liter Civic will be no less effective than a chip for a 12.9 liter truck. You'll get more gains from the truck, sure, but that's because it's a bigger engine. Torque is irrelevant.
Depending on the options and shape its in as well as mileage, that could be a good price.
Well it seems to be in good shape. I dont have money right now so it doesnt matter anyways. But just seeing one at that price is promising. Ive always liked subarus.
torque is irrelevant to the conversation, im trying to explain that a custom tune will do far better then some patch but he keeps saying "my truck has alot of torque" or something
It would just change your shifting patterns not so much the engine at all.
i dont think you know what you're buying

90's Subaru's are good cars. The 2.2's are what you should look for, they are well known for being very reliable and lasting until around 300k miles. They also get around 30mpg.
I love my 99 Soobie.
I'm confused as fuck right now. We aren't talking about Civics. We are comparing his Durango to other gas/diesel trucks programmed with a Superchips programmer. Nothing else.
i dont think you know what you're buying
No I know that a chip does mainly things just for the engine but I mean a tune up you get a bit of tuning of shifting patterns on an automatic of course.

Torque is still irrelevant to the way a chip works.

Cool. Im tired of my terrible V8 mpg. Wont be able to get one for a while though. Got any other recommendations?
Okay opinion would a performance chip give any boost in gas mileage and power for a 2000 dodge durango 4.7 liter magnum. If it would what one should I get and I would like a cheaper one.
Don`t buy a cheap chip because it will be useless
Don`t buy a chip unless you`re planning on getting it tuned

Civics, Caviliers, etc. seem to all be fairly good, but Imprezas are a lot more fun.

I don't really, but I want to back up his suggestion. Great cars Subaru's are.

cavaliers suck dick lol
Omg.
cavaliers suck dick lol
My friend has one and it seems to be an alright car.
Well when I got enough cash again Ill keep an eye out for subarus.
A Superchips programmer is not a fucking chip. It is a handheld programmer that reflashes you ECU with whatever options you modify to release more HP/TQ.
Programmer/Tuner
Make sure it's awd.
keep in mind they suck to work on
ALOT
cavaliers suck dick lol
Haha I know someone who just bought a 98 cavalier with 130,000 mile and a nice body for $600. So you know something is wrong. The next day she was complaining that it sounded bad and then at the end of that day it died on her.

how do i RELEASE TORQUES

I hear that a lot about the newer ones, but the 90's ones are easy to work on.
You both have no idea what you're talking about so I'm just going to shut up. Sorry we couldn't help you out Bradford.

What the hell
He asked about a good chip/tuner
I suggest Superchips
Someone says something about dynoing
Where are we now?

Bradford was talking about a chip, and stating that a chip works with trucks because they have torques. I don't think he knows anything about how car computers work and thus should just stay away form modifying his.

Dumb comment on my part. Not so much as help him because you did that, just us three got into a fight. edberg, mike, and myself. I just don't see how hard it is to understand that a programmer like the Cortex does in fact boost your torque and hp.

Alright, I got confused because people posted quick for a bit.
Anywho,
ten days until I go to a Subaru meet/rally.
My Impreza just needs a little more prep and a final inspection.
I'm going to have a full car, I'm hoping that won't slow me down too much.
