great counter argument. hard to refute that one!
if it`s so easy to refure then why haven`t you done it yet [editline]28th November 2010[/editline]
No, not really. they design parts. Then have somebody pu those parts together. Why not (if you have the money) buy those parts and put them together the way you want it? unless you're lazy.
You`re saying that you`re lazy if you`re not working on a car, and buying a new expensive car has no point
if it`s so easy to refure then why haven`t you done it yet
Its extremely hard to prove intelligence over the internet. But let me point out one thing. I have never used "you're dumb" solely as a counter argument. :smug:

[editline]28th November 2010[/editline] Anyways, GT5 is fuckin awesome and the pictures I`ve seen of it on the internet with photo-mode are amazing, I haven`t gotten around to taking any pictures yet but this is a cool one I saw

Seeing as it is almost impossible to prove intelligence over the internet, I can only point out "non-intelligent" things the opposing person has said. ......... You're just dumb. :smug: [editline]27th November 2010[/editline]
if it`s so easy to refure then why haven`t you done it yet [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] You`re saying that you`re lazy if you`re not working on a car, and buying a new expensive car has no point
No, let me clarify... again. I was stating that if you buy an over priced "offroad" truck, when you could build one (with arguably less "luxury" features) yourself for less money.

It's been like 3 times now that you say something retarded, then argue with me, then in the end say a statement completely altered from the first one 'just to clarify'
I dont really see how me not understanding why people would pay for and over priced truck is "idiotic". I also dont understand how that is so hard to understand. I have been saying the same thing for 3 pages. I dont know what you're on about man.
Last ten posts: tl;dr I just ordered coilovers from blackfriday and and thinking about ordering some of these but dunno if I'll ever have aftermarket wheels to use them for LOL. Plus they are $100 holy shit. Kyle from Atlanta Georgia here with an 06 Dodge magnum RT... White with 22's, t-rex chrome grille, Chrome kit, and special edition interior... I'll have pics up some time soon.

For a first car? Not too bad for what I paid but I love it
Eh just the chrome grill and rims are...... not the most heterosexual. As for the car itself. Not bad at all.
Well I'm looking to sell them. I'm not a fan of the big ass 22's and the chrome grill just is a bit of a waste to me. They both came on the car because of the previous owner put them on it... Looking to put a black stock grill on as soon as I find one for cheap.
i must acquire something with 4x4.
Good thinking my man. [editline]28th November 2010[/editline]
I was stating that if you buy an over priced "offroad" truck
I think the price of a Raptor is very reasonable actually. It was also designed from a heavy baja terrain standpoint, not the mud/crawling "portion" of offroading. [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] *Heavy mud And can you two stop fucking arguing? Not to be a dick about it but every page there's always an argument going on between the both of you.

By all means, if somebody wants a raptor instead of making their own, I couldn't care less. And I would love to stop arguing. But if he keeps trying to start them, Its not like Im going to sit back and just take it. besides. The two pages or so I didnt post in were also filled with arguing, so its not just me.
My girlfriend's cam (timing) belt snapped last night. She was sat stationary with the clutch down so damage shouldn't have been too bad, well compared to driving at 60 down the motorway. I know a fair bit about engines but haven't had to deal with anything of the like before. I've took the cylinder head off, the valves don't appear to be bent, nor do the pistons or rods look damaged. I can crank the engine by hand without more resistance than expected so I think damage is minimal but what else is worth looking at before I replace the belt and fire her up? Think it's best to get a garage to give it a once over? Would the gaskets need replacing?
If you are the least bit in doubt, I think you need to take it to a garage.

If damage happens as a result of snapping a timing belt, that's where it will be. If everything looks fine, I say reassemble with a new belt and see if everything works. If valves got screwed up you're pretty much in for a new cylinder head anyway, so IMO you don't have much to lose by giving it a shot. Be sure to replace every gasket you took apart and clean the surfaces properly. Also, you'll probably need a new set of head bolts because most modern engines use cylinder head bolts that can only be torqued once. When you get everything together run a compression test on all the cylinders to make sure the valves seat properly.
Well as I said, she was idling with the clutch down in traffic so there wouldn't have been that much force if the pistons made contact before the engine stalled. I've had a look and everything seems to be sound, the valves aren't bent which is the main concern. We'll order a full set of gaskets before rebuilding and hope for the best that she got lucky.

Real damage gets done when the rest of the drivetrain continues to spin the crankshaft when valves are stuck open. If the clutch was disengaged, it probably didn't have the chance to repeatedly beat on the valves.
