hahaha so you think your 45 year old truck weighs the same as a newer car? My car has 130hp and a new Ram has like twice that much, my car's still faster than it, WHAT DO [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] Unless you really need a truck (towing stuff, driving around a lot of stuff), then buying one is a total waste of money. Awful fuel economy, slow, etc. etc. Do you see everyone who doesn`t have a truck just slipping and sliding everywhere they go in the winter? NOPE. Just those that can't drive, my FWD car is fine in the winter cause I don't floor the fuck out of it in corners and we get more snow than most people in the world.
I did just a little research, looks like the average weight of a new car (2010) is some where around 3100lbs. My truck weighs about 4300, his weighs around the same with his larger tires added in. Have you ever even driven a real truck?
1000 pounds is a HUGE difference I drove an F-150 and a Nissan king cab a few times
What year/style of f150? Either way, none of those are really true trucks. Try something that's a 3/4 ton like an F250, GM 2500, etc. and then see what you say about trucks.
I got the video of my truck. Can't figure out how to get it from my phone to my pc though. Too big to send via message, no way to connect it to my pc (lost my cord ffff), and the mem card is in some wierd ass format. wat do?
Get the audi if you want, I'm just saying you may enjoy it in the summer but once you get snow hitting the ground you are going to regret it. I had a 97 Jimmy (suv) with 4x4 that i would use on the streets AFTER they salted it, and i was still sliding all over the road, because i had street tires, same as that car. And i live in Albuquerque, A desert wasteland. Don't know where you live but I'm sure you get more snow than me.
I live in Upstate NY, where everyone puts snow tires on their cars in October. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline]
Agreed, mines AWD and I thought it'd drive in the slow like a mountain goat. I was wrong, any bit of throttle sends you into a mad 4 wheel drift.
Snow tires. Buy them.
Snow tires? Pfft, I have been using these on my Impreza for the past year or so and they do amazing in the snow http://kumhousa.com/Tire.aspx?id=a554ff1f-6f0e-4a7b-b4f2-f117f7942a2d&cat=22
What year/style of f150?
2006-08, I remember it had 4wd and the engine was over 5 liters big, don`t remember much other than that
What year/style of f150? Either way, none of those are really true trucks. More weight on the back, more stability for a trailer and since the power goes out of the back wheels, you can see how that's beneficial. They aren't meant for off roading.
Most heave duties I have seen are 4wd.
Some are. But if they are meant for towing stuff, instead of basically being a van (like a U-Haul), they most likely won't be. It's just a waste of power. The engine is still trying to power all four wheels, so the power is spread out evenly between them all, even when the front is lifted a bit from the weight in the back. It may have the option for 4wd, but you probably can't enable it when a load is connected, or it will disable itself. At least that's what my Grand-Dads super duty does.
does anyone want me to upload some pictures from the car show? I didn't get to take that many good ones. there were way too many people walking around the cars, sitting in the cars, etc., and on top of that my batteries died. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] plus I'm a bad photographer

My truck and my dads '00 F250 Powerstroke Diesel are 4wd (mine is full time 4wd) and we can both engage 4wd with a load on

My grandad has an 09 F-450 by the way. Not sure about the technical changes over the years. Visual changes are obvious. Also, dear ricers of this thread. Putting a road cleaner body-kit on your car doesn't make it look good. This is done well, and doesn't look like a chubby chick with a giant under bite.

But yeah. The light just doesn't come on if it has a load. (May have to do with weight)
what
What?
What?
what did you mean by your previous post? I didn't say anything about coupes
what did you mean by your previous post? I didn't say anything about coupes
"Hyundai Genesis Coupe". Why'd you pair it with a DeLorean?
"Hyundai Genesis Coupe". Why'd you pair it with a DeLorean?
I was just posting pictures I took.
I was just posting pictures I took.
OOHHHHHH. I thought you were comparing them for some reason. Anyways, I like both cars.
I went to the international auto show in Tampa.
I remember you talking about it now. Aside from me being tired, and misunderstanding posts tonight, did you like Tampa? I thought Busch Gardens was the only fun thing.
