Why are people taking the thread title way too fucking serious? People who hate muscle cars don't understand the history and the culture of people involved in them.
Enlighten me then. I'm sorry, but I don't buy a car based on it's history and culture. That's like stealing a urinal from a Pyramid just because mighty pharaohs and the God Of Death and Osama Bin Laden used it. I buy a car based on how GOOD it is.
People who hate muscle cars don't understand the history and the culture of people involved in them.
Or it could be the fact that they don't like them.
this but in dark green, will grab a photo when i'm home next [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] i love my car, afraid i can't remember what year it is but it's a Ford Fiesta Ghia
If you think mustangs, camaros, chargers and corvettes are square and really ugly then I think you have specific tastes. I wouldn't myself buy a mustang or camaro but after being behind the wheel of a manual v8 mustang GT I've got to say there is quite an appeal, it's a unique feeling that you don't get behind the wheel of a japanese or european make.
I know what that appeal is though. You might not have been able to point your finger at it, but it's the sound of the engine. It's brilliant being in control of something that makes so much noise, hearing the engine roar as you push into the pedal. EDIT: I tip my hat to the people in this thread who have Mazda RX8's. Excellent value for money, excellent quality, power, handling, feel... Just don't go ruin it by putting a stupid spoiler on it. [img_thumb]http://i795.photobucket.com/albums/yy237/Mpntball2012/FP/photo.jpg[/img_thumb] -like this. Actually, this is even worst, it's like putting a bow on a poodle, it will look worst.

Just the sound and tire burning power alone.
I don't even know how to explain it.
Then tell me why I should listen to someone who admitted not knowing what they're talking about.
Then tell me why I should listen to someone who admitted not knowing what they're talking about.
Did I say, "I have no idea what I'm talking about?" No, I said I don't know how to explain it.
[editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] That's kind of what I'm talking about though. Just the sound and tire burning power alone.
Sure, that's very good... but the rest of the car is the exact opposite, sadly.
I know what that appeal is though. You might not have been able to point your finger at it, but it's the sound of the engine. I would not get the same feeling from a V4 then I would from my V8. Just isnt the same.
I'm afraid this charger isn't mine, it's my parent's (I still have a couple of months to go until I can drive myself. Right now I'm looking at some old beat up pickup trucks :buddy:)
Sure, that's very good... but the rest of the car is the exact opposite, sadly.
Not really. Its true that some muscle cars are big, and heavy. However you can lighten them up. Combine that witht he powerful engine and you have one fast car.
Not really. Its true that some muscle cars are big, and heavy. However you can lighten them up. Combine that witht he powerful engine and you have one fast car.
True, but most people can't afford to put an even more powerful engine on a muscle car, because their engines are powerful already. And those who can afford it don't buy muscle cars... [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
Did I say, "I have no idea what I'm talking about?"
True, but most people can't afford to put an even more powerful engine on a muscle car, because their engines are powerful already. Plus it's a way of getting air into the engine bay.
Its not just the noise. Its the power. I would not get the same feeling from a V4 then I would from my V8. Just isnt the same.
You can get cars with V8's that aren't muscle cars
Was at the bottom of the last page so i am putting it here
I think it's rather nice, maybe a bit too expensive though. But if you don't mind that, sure. [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
You can get cars with V8's that aren't muscle cars
True.
Am I the only one who gets slightly irritated when people are all jizzing themselves over "guud ol' amuricun muscle"? I mean, the only thing they do is make alot of noise, and that's it, really. Sure, SOME are kinda good looking, but most(mustangs, camaros, chargers, corvettes, etc.) are really ugly and really square. They weigh more than the moon, their brakes are horrible, the suspension is horrible too, the combination of huge weight and bad suspension means they can't make it around corners. And they have as many luxuries as an egyptian's lavatory. They are as aerodynamic as a wardrobe, meaning that despite their considerably powerful engines, they can't reach any considerably fast speeds because of how much drag there is(Because of how much the air is pushing them back), meaning they're not that fast in a straight line, and they're really slow around corners. And you might say "Sure, but... they're exciting to drive!" Well, yes, much in the same way being shot at is exciting. It's only good for showing off, really. And you know, that's fine. But the kind of people who drive these cars are so cocky... The kind of people who challenge someone in a Nissan GTR to a race and then are staggered when the GTR goes like a rocket to 100 mph while their car is still spinning it's wheels, and the kind of people that think the less damage your car suffers at x speed, the less the person is hurt, when in fact the reason moders cars are damaged with more ease is because they're safer, the car, not your face, is absorving the impact. But what bugs me most of all are the poor mis-informed young chaps who buy them thinking they're immensly fast and astonishingly good, when they don't realize they could buy something faster, more modern and all-around better, for about the same amount of money that it would cost them to buy, let's say, a Camaro with a working engine.
yeah a gtr costs like 4 times as much as a mustang get out of thread [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] hey you ever seen a modern mach1 with boltons? lets see any jap car do that, the hp/price ratio is nearly unbeatable on that car
yeah a gtr costs like 4 times as much as a mustang get out of thread
A car doesn't have to be more expensive than a mustang to be better than it. You "get out of thread" Nobody has offended anyone or disrespected anyone yet in this argument, don't go and turn this into a ragefest
neither have i? MAYBE IF I POINT THAT OUT FIRST ILL SEEM SUPERIOR IN THIS ARGUMENT check out this piece of american trash, I bet he spent like 10k on that air filter and exhaust
neither have i? MAYBE IF I POINT THAT OUT FIRST ILL SEEM SUPERIOR IN THIS ARGUMENT
:what:
True, but most people can't afford to put an even more powerful engine on a muscle car, because their engines are powerful already. So as long as you admit that its your opinion. i dont really care. I hate jap cars, I see many faults in them. (to me) But I dont care if people enjoy them.
Pfftt We ALL know that KOREAN cars are best: [img_thumb]http://www.thesmokingtire.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/2010-Hyundai-Genesis-Coupe-5.jpg[/img_thumb]

You "get out of thread" Nobody has offended anyone or disrespected anyone yet in this argument, don't go and turn this into a ragefest
Why? He's been in these threads for quite awhile, before me actually. He respects nearly everbody's car tastes and doesn't start shit by saying muscle cars suck. There's always an argument going on the the cars thread haha.
Why? He's been in these threads for quite awhile, before me actually. He respects nearly everbody's car tastes and doesn't start shit by saying muscle cars suck.
"get out of thread" is not what I'd call "arguing".
See, you're new, you wouldn't get that statement. Edberg knows what I'm talking about. But aren't we arguing over Muscle cars?
[img_thumb]http://image.automotive.com/f/features/chevellemontecarlo/10567763+pheader/sucp_0810_01_z+1970_chevy_chevelle_ss+front_view.jpg[/img_thumb] Beautiful
ruination of a classic at its finest
Tell me, have you ever driven any muscle car of any sort or are you basing what you say on the ricers you meet at autozone?
Ricers are even worst hey let's add weight by putting a new bodykit, spoiler, sound system and loud exhaust on an old ford fiesta and not do anything to the engine [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
But aren't we arguing over Muscle cars?
Like you said, there's always an argument. And more than one at a time.
