There's better options for offroading in a VeeDubbb
There's better options for offroading in a VeeDubbb
Well, it'd be impossible to flip because the cart is a semi-circle with wheels :v:
Anything other than a mud tire with self-cleaning lugs in deep mud equals stuck, regardless of the vehicle, torque and horsepower don't matter much when the street tire is coated in mud and is now basically coated in lube. Does it have tow hooks or a trailer hitch? If not you're boned. If you do, they make trailer hitches with a D-shackle on them, put one in, hook up a rope or a chain with a heavy towel over it, have someone with good tires and four-wheel drive yank you out.
you should like read all the posts before replying brah
Well, it'd be impossible to flip because the cart is a semi-circle with wheels :v:
Just rolls back over. Like that guy that had a bar going over the top of his bicycle so he slammed on his brakes, did a loop and landed back on his wheels.
I'm terrified of when I finally flip my Volkswagen. I know it's going to happen, the ruts I go through are so large and wide I could have a rave in between them.
A bit off topic here but I'd have thought and electric off-roader would be perfect, especially if you've got a motor driving each wheel with no gear ratios to worry about. You'd have 100% torque from 0 revs and completley independant drive for each wheel as well as a good balance of weight over each wheel to help with grip. I know battery life plays a bit part but it could work in the future when they've ironed out all the creases with batteries. Of course that doesn't help if the rest of the car is shit but put it into an already great off-roader and surely you have a winner?

Not in a hybrid, no. I'm talking about purpose built for the job. Surely there's something in the idea?
See, the one crucial piece that almost all dedicated offroaders have installed are locking differentials. There's a reason why you need all four tires getting the same amount of power and turning at the same time. An electric motor sending power to 4 wheels independently would basically act like an open diff or a shitty l.s. diff. An electric offroader is far from perfect. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
I'm sure the electric motor's aren't good enough for this purpose.
Because they provide less power than my legs on my bike pedals.

And are far more efficient than internal combustion engines? The BIGGEST problem, is that we are sort of limited by current battery technology so powering larger motors longer becomes a big issue.
lack of sexy v8 sound fuck electric

However, turbo diesel is just awesome to listen to. It almost my favorite engine noise.
fuck hybrids veggie oil converted diesel all day erry day Seriously, though, I don't think electric stuff is any fun. I'll switch to diesel before I switch to electric.

We need money pumping in to develop hydrogen systems. Also dont electric motors put out max torque at any RPM?
Also dont electric motors put out max torque at any RPM?
something like that, I think so yeah.
dumb
I'm pretty sure it would have gotten stuck whether it's a hybrid or not. SUV=/=4WD Offroad WH-heeler. Is that thing even 4wd? If it isn't it's your own fault for getting stuck, especially in mud like that.

AWD is more for winter driving and gravel roads. I think the OP is just really dumb.
AWD more like shitty TCS like on my friends Cock riding Vehicle
well, for off roading, theres only one thing I can say beep beep get a jeep also, that 3rd picture is great, as in good photography
Hmm can't reply... We where reviewing it, they said that we should try it offroad since it should work like a real SUV. It didn't.
Oh, I should have read the thread.
