Honestly one of my favorite movies. I loved the grittyness, suspense and how it portrayed itself as more lifelike than many "war on terror" movies do.
I know, I know, I'm supposed to hate this movie with every fiber of my being but...I can't bring myself to. I wouldn't say I love the film or even that it's a particularly great movie, but I thought it was a decent action film with an interesting concept, solid acting, absolutely fantastic set/locale design, and some great sound. Why it got completely shit on by...well, just about everyone still manages to confuse me. It's not a masterpiece but I certainly don't think it deserves the 2/10s that I've seen it getting.
i will ignore every other post but this one. did you see the verhoeven original? did you know that this remake has next to nothing in common with the source material it's based on?

it was pretty boring and lame
i will ignore every other post but this one. did you see the verhoeven original? did you know that this remake has next to nothing in common with the source material it's based on?
Absolutely. I just ended up enjoying the remake (or, more appropriately, re-imagining) on its own merits. In that respect I enjoyed the hell out of it.
freddy got fingered
I totally agree, dude. One of the funniest movies ever IMO.
Absolutely. I just ended up enjoying the remake (or, more appropriately, re-imagining) on its own merits.

Probably my favourite film. Seeing the stage version at the end of this month!
Alien 3 I like the setting and it has some good actors (namely Pete Postlethwaite, may he rest in piece). The only thing that kinda sucks, is how Ripley [sp]kills herself[/sp] at the end. It's a realistic way to end the movie I guess, but it gave us the abomination that is Alien: Resurrection.
Prometheus and Sucker Punch [editline]14th January 2013[/editline] Well I don't love them but I like them.

The Watch Yes, there's a lot of sex jokes and vulgarity, but I laughed my ass off.
The Town The Godfather Part III The Mummy (my ultimate guilty pleasure)
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Watchmen Cloud Atlas
Cloud Atlas too, I guess. Didn't think many people hated it.
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Watchmen Cloud Atlas
I thought people loved Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Signs
I thought people loved Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Not here, they don't. I like it myself. I can't say other people hate it, since nearly everyone I know likes it.

I'm more glad that it wasn't just a remake.
As if that was written as a lead in to Ressurection Hint they would have made that movie regardless of Alien 3's ending
I know, I know. But the story of resurrection could have been something completely different(better) if Alien 3 had ended differently [sp]With Ripley alive[/sp].
Next and jumper fucking terrible but I love them
Everyone says Event Horizon is meh, but I liked it a lot.
I love it because it fits especially well into the Warhammer 40k lore.
Just watched it and I thought it was very good

you're full of shit i've never met someone who didn't love this its either that or "is that the one with the dickgirl"
I thought people loved Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Ssshhhhhh, Rusty will come in here and murder you with words.
I don't think Rusty said it was a horrible movie, rather it was a movie that is massively overrated.
Even though the second is well known, I really like the first one even if it's not as goofy as the second.

[editline]16th January 2013[/editline] My (insert thread title) would have to be: Taken Taken 2 Transformers Transformers 2 Transformers 3 Battleship Basically, comes down to my enjoyment of mindless action, it's all enjoyable to me and I see no reason why anyone would really hate them since all they really set out to be was enjoyable action, and by golly, they all succeeded. I also love Liam Neeson.
People hate em because theyre dumb terrible films The action isnt even done well in those films
Alien 3. Went in expecting something horrible, since everyone else seems to hate it, but I actually enjoyed it more than the second one. Mainly because it went back to having one Xenomorph picking everyone off.
