People didn't like this movie? Wha?
We watched it in my History of Rock and Roll class and at least 75% of the people hated it because "it wasn't in full color" and "the stupid accents" and "the shitty music"
coen brothers are pretty smart and weird tho to be fair, you

probably have to watch a film or two before understanding how their films work. plus you get more out of them the more you watch them. I think Fargo was my first coen film but I really dint like it too much but now I think its pretty great and love all their films.

I didn't love it, but it was entertaining enough.
Then again, I find it hard to hate anything Richard Ayoade does.
Inception had a score that was FEABLE compared to the one here. I mean that.

its pretty uninspired when it comes to orchestral, inceptions is far more unique.
hans zimmer is great but he's over rated and hit and miss. like i said, shame's rendition of 'journey to the line' was much better.

o brother where art thou was my first coen bros film and i loved it from the first watch
people are stupid
The problem with Zimmer's soundtracks is that they always sound the same with very small differences.
The problem with Zimmer's soundtracks is that they always sound the same with very small differences.
You can probably chalk that up to director's choice though, "I want something that sounds like X from the movie Y".

I'd say about a tenth of his scores are actually worthwhile.
Inception is only "different" because he uses ambient sounds he didn't use before, by no means are they innovative at all. Plus they weren't radically different from what he did with his batman ost.
at least with da vinci code, you really felt a darkness in the music. Inception was fairly mellow.
-snip- nvm you edited
speaking of good scores Looper had a seriously powerful one.
my friend got to talk to Nathan Johnson (the guy who composed the score for Looper) and I'm mad jealous. He didn't tell me much about it but he said the guy had a lot of interesting shit to say about how he made the tracks.
Looper's score doesn't get the recognition it deserves in my opinion. It wasn't my favorite score of the year or anything, but it's not far behind it. My favorite was the latest Batman movie.
The fact that The Dark Knight Rises wasn't even nominated for any music/sound related Oscars (or any Oscars AT ALL, for that matter) is mind-boggling to me. Like, if it didn't win I'd be kind of upset, but it wasn't even nominated, man. That's just retarded.
they go all like "heh, superhero movie, dont even bother searching for oscar quality in there"
Yeah, but wasn't the reason that there's 10 Best Picture nomination slots because of the fan backlash after "The Dark Knight" didn't get a Best Picture nomination in 2008?
The third one was just as good as the second one in my opinion. I'm not the only one, either.
What the fuck is Zero Dark Thirty doing on that list
ZDT is on the list because it's ~cUlTuRaLlY sIgNiFiCaNt~
Aka doesnt matter how boring jt js they made a movie where they shot bin Laden in the face woo america
And because the lady who made it made The Hurt Locker, so its obvious her next movie would be nominated.
to be honest Kathryn Bigelow is getting too much stick. Strange Days was a fantastic film.
but the hurt locker sucked and I bet zero dark thirty will suck too (seems to be the general consensus)
Mainly because I live in a part of the world where everyone hates science fiction.
Oh and I guess the people who had seen it have no idea what the fuck was going on.
I started out not liking that movie but the more I see it the more I enjoy it.

The general consensus is that it's boring. Imo boredom is something that shouldn't exist but whatever.

lmao what are you even talking about
lmao what are you even talking about
new philosophies bro, times change.
imo, if you're actually disinterested by everything going on in a film, you've just wasted your time.
are you saying that its not the film's fault that it was boring, it was the audience's?

I'm really surprised most people don't even acknowledge this one even though it's directed by Werner Herzog.
is django super gory then? i kind of want to see it but i'm a bit squeamish.

It's pretty bloody, but not too chunky.

I am starting to think that you don't actually know who Werner Herzog is.
are you saying that its not the film's fault that it was boring, it was the audience's?
It's someone elses project, you choose to experience their work. Yet you're disinterested by what they put out so really it is the audience wasting its time for seeing things they know they won't like.
Honestly people seem to see things for the sake of them being popular and it's so pointless.
