Nathan Fillion gives me a boner.
Serenity looks fucking amazing on Blu-Ray, It makes you realize how amazing the special effects are considering the film's low relatively low budget.
And the movie was good in my opinion, it explained a lot of things that weren't really explained in the show, and, in my opinion, it had pretty good ending.

Considering it had around a third of the budget of star wars episode 3, released the same year, it's amazing that the effects actually look better.
Serenity was a terrible movie, killing off Book and Wash was totally uncool. Overelaborating the Reavers was a bad idea too, I liked it when you didn't know anything about them. It added a genuine air of terrifying mystery to them, all you ever got was the horrors they left in their wake and that's what amde them cool.
I have all of the episodes on my MP3 player, it makes bus journeys and train travel a lot more fun even if I do tend to miss my stop because of it.
The best episode is blatantly Jaynestown.
"I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town."
I disagree with your whole opinion about the movie.
Killing said characters off increased the tension. The last 45 minutes of the movie wouldn't be half as tense and awesome if these characters didn't die. Because then we knew that even though they are the main characters, they could die any moment.
And if it still was an ongoing series at the time the movie was released I would agree about the Reaver thing, but they don't need the genuine air of terrifying mystery anymore. Since the series already ended they used everything they had to make the movie as awesome as possible.
Now if you would make the same point about the Wraith in SGA I would agree with you. At first they were scary and what not. But after 1 season they lost all that mystery feeling, and they just became another enemy with ships and guns.

You sound waaaay beyond dumb.

ahh I hate reading about this show it makes me miss it so much
I don't want to watch firefly, Because I can tell I will love it, and know theres no happy end to that choice. :(
Would you like to fuck a girl or not, before you go to jail, is there a happy end to that choice?
You guys do know they revealed everything just because they knew it's all over after the movie, right ?
The movie was primarily made to wrap things up since it was killed after one season.
Joss Whedon said on the off-chance that someone picks it up, he'll just say the movie wasn't canon. I love Joss Whedon, he's such a chilled-out and relaxed guy. Nathan Fillion is my favorite though, he's awesome.
My favourite would be Alan Tudyk, he's like the friendliest actor ever.
Has there ever been a show brought back after this long a time? I don't think so...

Uhh what.
I'm sorry I'm a big fan of Firefly but to say that Serenity had better special effects than Ep3 is a little silly.
They actually did fairly well with keeping up with the no sound in space thing. The only time there was much sound in space was during the battle over that planet, but it's way more than awesome enough to forgive.
Also my memory isn't 100% on this but I thought there was sound because it took place in the atmosphere of the planet?

Maybe it was that they restricted the use of CG to stuff that actually needed CG or (far more likely) it was because it was released on bluray.
Honestly, I never watched this show till 2 months ago, loved it, a lot.
Loved the movie too.

When I saw her in the first episode she was in, I was immediately hopeful that she was going to be in at least one more episode (which she was :v:). She is so hot. Is it just me or does she have massive boobs in that picture compared to when she was acting?
It's a shame Jayne didn't wear his hat more. When you're a man called Jayne, it's always useful to have another feature that distracts from the fact your name is Jayne.
Oh god damn, just did a quick google search for Christina Hendricks:

It's possible. I don't really know enough to make an educated guess about it, but they seem pretty far from the planet.

The scene is about a minute in to the video.

Ah crap embedding disabled.
Whether it´s realistic or not, the space battle would have been pretty bland without any sound in it.
It's amazing, but there probably won't be a show in my lifetime that will be as awesome so I'm depressed
Pretty much sums up my feelings right here. Why oh why Fox...it is entirely Fox's fault, I was wondering why the "previously on firefly" parts were all messed up while I was watching it in the correct order via netflix. Seriously I haven't loved a show as much as firefly ever.
I started and finished the series and the movie this summer. I miss it so much.
I know, it was all their fault, they fucked up by airing the episodes in the wrong order, and by not airing the pilot at all.
They sabotaged it basicly.

Never trust Fox. The joke in the latest Futurama basically sums it up.
Surprised this thread hasn't had more attention. This is actually the best sci-fi series I've ever seen. Watch one episode a week because once you've finished you'll think "Fuck, there's no more to it". Except the movie and comics. But still.
So after viewing the series for a second time, but this time on Blu-Ray. I noticed an inconsistency in the storyline. In one of the episodes (I believe the Pilot episode) Simon says he rescued River by hiring a third party. However in the beginning of the movie Serenity you see him rescuing her himself.

They changed it because it was a movie.
I just assumed they helped him in and were the guys that picked him up.
The serenity novel explains it a bit better, Simon hired a third party to help him break river out.
Wait there is a novel of Firefly? Written by Joss Whedon?
Gah fuck I would have bought this in an instant:

The latest comic, "The Shepherd's Tale" is fuckawesome.
Mostly because we finally get to know Book's ultramysterious backstory.
