Never read any of these, but I might go rent 'em at the library. If I absolutely loved the movie, will I enjoy the books as well?
Sunny was the best character.
Ironically, in the movie, Jim Carrey chewed the scenery more than Sunny's actress.
I always thought this was a far superior childhood book series when compared to Harry Potter. Didn't like the movie very much though and I wish they would've made one for each book because it felt rushed when they tried to cram it together.
I think I only read up to around 6 or 7 (number 5 killed it for me for some reason), I had no idea that he made so many more. I should re read them though, they were pretty good, and I don't read much anymore which is unfortunate oh ho ho.
I read the entire thing yet it was so long ago I can't remember the ending, I remember the island and [sp]Kit[/sp] a little bit but I can't remember much. Oh and for VFD, I could only ever think of Vertically Flying Ducks.
I just learned today about the second series of books coming out, and hopefully it sheds some more light on what was going on behind the scenes.
Source?
Read all of the books. Am I the only one who thought the movie was absolute garbage?
*raises hand* Nope.
I loved these books! Oh, who am I kidding? I still absolutely adore them. I've been meaning to get The Beatrice Letters, though. Can't find it anywhere (when I actually remember to look for it).
I have the whole series of Cirque Du Freak as well (that I read a while ago, 2-3 years ago), before the whole massive vampire thing hit, it was a good series as well.
Look at the fire burning on the corner of every cover in order from beginning to last.

God these books were great
Anyone mention the weird thing they did with pages on the hardcover where they were all cut weird and you couldn't flip through them easily?
Jesus christ I loved this series when I read it. Also, the movie was great, but I wish they kept it going to the next book or two... or eleven. If they'd made the movies into a running saga like the books, it would have worked out pretty well. [editline]30th May 2011[/editline] Maybe if they'd made a sequel they could call it ASOUMPTASOUE, which here means "A Series Of Unfortunate Movies Pertaining To A Series Of Unfortunate Events" just to have the super long title. It gave it a good stylized look but it didn't really make it that easy to read.
Bumping a very old thread, but I feel for relevant reasons. I have since found out more information on the new series, though admittedly very late. Newsletter Sign Up Site The new series Daniel Handler is working on is entitled All The Wrong Questions and the first book is entitled Who Could That Be at This Hour?, which is set to release on October 23, 2012.
I can appreciate Little, Brown’s position in wanting to promote my work, but I’ve looked over the attached documents and none of this information can be released… These books are questionable and contain questions. I, for one, question why anyone would be interested in reading them. I would appreciate it if you didn’t contact me again. I’ll be in my office until 4.

ALL THE WRONG QUESTIONS is Lemony Snicket’s first authorized autobiographical account of his childhood and will be told in four volumes featuring illustrations throughout by critically acclaimed artist Seth. “Who Could That Be at This Hour?”, the first volume in the series, launches nationwide in e-book, audio, and print formats on October 23, 2012, with an announced first printing of one million copies. Drawing on events that took place during a period of his youth spent in a fading town, far from anyone he knew or trusted, Snicket chronicles his experiences as an apprentice in an organization nobody knows about. While there, he began to ask a series of questions—wrong questions that should not have been on his mind. “Who Could That Be at This Hour?” is Snicket’s account of the first wrong question.
The series will explore Snicket's childhood at the V.F.D. and elaborate on the Great Unknown.
I remember going to my school library, and the lemony Snicket books where all checked out, and if there was one, the librarian will hide it somewhere in the library, to make us search for it. Good times I had reading these books with friends...
I want to get these but I can't find them anywhere (need international shipping) They're not on amazon where I usually shop from
