Do you know how hard you have to work to go pro? You have to practice EVERY DAY for hours and hours. Do you know how mentally and physically strong you have to be to succeeded at most sports? Exactly so stop being an arrogant prick.
Most people have to go to their fucking job EVERY DAY for hours and hours. I don't see them making billions of dollars like fucking Tiger Woods. Fact of life is EVERYBODY has to work their life away at some 9-to-5 job. Doesn't matter if it's being a trash collector or a fucking NFL star.
I'm more angry about people getting financial aid for college sports while there's barely anything for actual academic merit.
It's just for publicity for the university, they're basically paying for quasi-advertisement. Unless they take anything else they'll leave college football a failure normally.
Listen, the collage has to keep their grades up, if not then they can't play.
About the their team part: Most of the fat older people watching games that are of their team, grew up to that. I mean I've grown up in a house with parties for games if I couldn't go to them, tailgating when I could. I've known the fight song since as long as I can remember. It's a part of life. Especially in smaller towns.
Yeah, I'm not saying sports are bad, just explaining a little bit about how you get the really craaaazy fans and the people who spend huge amounts of money going to games and stuff. I used to be really into the NBA for a while and would go to games a lot. It's fun to do, but a lot of the other fans make it pretty unbearable. I mean, it's cool when "your" team wins and all, but I saw people getting death threats and getting beat up for rooting for the "wrong" team. That stuff just isn't cool.
I dislike watching sports. Its like watching someone else play a game- somewhat boring.
Listen, the collage has to keep their grades up, if not then they can't play.
Haha! Not really. They just put all the sports kids in remedial classes for retards. We had a Geology 101 class at my college that was known as "Rocks for Jocks" because it was so easy a kindergartner could pass it and almost everyone in the class was on the football team since they took it as an easy pass/fail course to get their science requirement.
ITT: I was never good at sports so people who enjoy watching them are below me.
I understand that but it's actually really difficult to get serious financial aid for major colleges these days and when they use such a huge portion of their scholarship funds on sports there's not much left for the mathletes.

I've always known some of the greatest rivalries, Michigan-Ohio State and Michigan-Notre Dame. but you are entitled to your opinion about everyone. I get tickets sometimes, but a lot of people I know inherited season tickets from older family members.
So they can pay off their medical bills when they get the shit knocked out of them. maybe
Why are people being paid so much to make video games? etc etc
Why are people being paid so much to make video games? etc etc
They aren't.
They aren't.
they get paid pretty damn well for what they do
They aren't.
The bonuses for the Executives of Modern Warfare 2 were millions. MILLIONS I know it's MW2, but still.
they get paid pretty damn well for what they do
No, they don't. The gaming industry made more than Hollywood last year, but you don't see level designers getting paid $60 million dollars for a single game the way movie stars do. One of my friends used to work for Maxis on their Sims games back when the Sims were SUPER popular, and he made shit for pay. Less than he would have if he went off and became a network technician for some law firm or something.
Marketing, sponsors, entertainment, TV, adds/commercials etc. etc. etc.
Oh yeah, also they risk being seriously injured (football). Some sports leave most players injured in some part of their body for the rest of their lives like hurt backs, legs, etc.
Their salaries are relative to how much money they can bring in from advertisers and ticket sales. There are many many professional sports players that only earn $80 000 - $100 000, but you don't hear about them because they aren't the megastars that bring in all the viewers.
An Football star can make like 1mil a year or something, and a pathologist or a doctor have to work their asses off to get into medical school and pass and than spend more years on a medical branch they wanna master.(Excluding Pathologist.) If the USA were gonna invest in sports don't ya think they would invest on their soccer team or something? To improve the US world rep.
Most of America doesn't care about Soccer. Sure, most you guys on facepunch do, but that's because most of the people here are wanna be Brits or were emasculated by football players in high school and just resent the sport because of it. Sure, America finally got excited about the World Cup.. but only because America was actually doing good in it at a point. If we fell out of the runnings early on.. you wouldn't have heard much about it. Football is a sport that is growing in popularity, just not as fast as Soccer did. Soccer spread fast because of the global influence Britain had at the time and lets face it.. it's cheap. Any 3rd world country can set up a soccer team. All you need is a ball. It just sounds like you have something against football to be honest.
While I do enjoy watching sports, I feel that they get paid an unhealthy amount of money. I feel the same way about movie stars as well.
definitely. it makes it even worse that careers like teaching get paid pretty much shit all when it;s a damn important career
If I were to tell someone that I was going to earn my doctorate through college, they would tell me that it is perfectly plausible if I put effort into my studies. If I were to tell someone that I was going to play for Manchester United in 4 years, they would tell me to fuck right off.

Soccer/Football is such a shit sport, I would hate any idiot in the US who spends money on the team.
Soccer/Football is such a shit sport, I would hate any idiot in the US who spends money on the team.
you're so opinionated and edgy you must have girls begging to play tf2 with you
Soccer/Football is such a shit sport, I would hate any idiot in the US who spends money on the team.
Either way, the "US" doesn't spend money on them, that's not where sports team funding comes from. It's only select investors who want to own a team or jointly own a team. Most football (not soccer football) teams in the United States are owned by one person exclusively, even though they obviously get some funding elsewhere.
Soccer/Football is such a shit sport, I would hate any idiot in the US who spends money on the team.
Like the US is the only one who has that sport.
I can remember seeing in news a British football player getting paid £1mil a week.
Keep in mind MLB players have no 'earning cap' especially the star players last time I checked. Meaning they can keep going up on cash to play.
