Journals/Diaries are useful. You have no idea how my brooding book has helped me get in and out of situations. I find everything makes more sense when it is written down. And then you can look back on it, and understand what you were thinking back then, helping you learn from your mistakes. I keep it in my backpack all the time.

Tomorrow we are going to break out, while i am writing this the alert went to 10, As a promise to the West camp, we had a deal that if our camp had Alert 10 we would break out to seek for them.
