100% useless in every application imaginable. Nobody's going to care that you type that fast when you require a special keyboard layout to do it. If I was a smart employer, I'd take a 120 WPM home row typist over a 200 WPM Dvorak typist just because that's one less accommodation I have to make and less time I'd have to waste on getting the person set up just to perform decently. Nobody uses it, and learning how to type on it would be a complete waste of time.
My gay what?
only nerds use dvoark
fucken fag
Nerds are smart enough to realise that the whole idea is flawed. Only hipster autistics use dvorak.

for a start you can't game on it without wasd and i highly doubt you're going to enjoy mapping the keys to it for every game you play
are you a fucking idiot
the keys are all still there you just map the movement controls to different keys
wasd become <aoe
that said, I have my own unique typing style (I never bought into the "standard" aligned fingers typing method they teach in school) so I don't see the point of this
I'm sitting on 118 WPM with 100% accuracy, I don't need to switch, but thanks anyway.
This. I'm sitting on 115WPM with 99% accuracy. (Doing a 3-minute test)

You'd be a bad boss then (Dvorak is simply a setting in Windows), it's equivalent to a user having a different titlebar colour.
That's assuming they can touch type though, somebody who can't would need a special key layout (but then again they couldn't type that fast on a QWERTY keyboard either)

but.. but.. how would you type lol on it?! :gonk:
haha, Dvorak Keyboard is a fucking nightmare
qwerty all day every day
all other keyboards are OBSOLETE

Here's the best keyboard ever. The Model M keyboard. It can survive nuclear holocaust and make you feel like you're Fat Ned in Jurassic Park.

Wow, that keyboard looks uncomfortable as fuck.
I'm talking about DVORAK style.
Completely and utterly pointless and impractical.

I have a Dell version of that thing.
It does not break.
Considering that I've got a QWERTY keyboard down as muscle memory, I really doubt that switching over will do anything but drastically slow the speed at which I type.
It'd just make no sense to switch over to this layout. I've never noticed an instance where I've needed to type faster on a QWERTY keyboard, and learning to use Dvorak would mean that whenever I use another PC, I'd have tons of trouble trying to use QWERTY again.

They are near indestructible. They aren't made anymore mainly because of that reason, they were not profitable. The moment I find one in a thrift shop or a garage sale I'll simply yell "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY"
Dvorak looks like it would be easier to learn, but I don't think I would really want to give up qwerty. I'm fast enough at it.
OP never forced you use it jesus christ the whole op is like 2 sentences.
I don't like change!
draconian ergonomic failure "Qwerty"
please tell me they are trolling

No one said OP forces anyone to use it; we're merely expressing our opinions on the dvorak layout and whether or not it would be advantageous to use it over QWERTY.
I tried an AZERTY keyboard once. It was horrible. I'm never going to be able to switch from QWERTY after all the time I've been using it.

One guy on YouTube remaps every single in-game function he can to the numpad. Apparently he finds it more efficient.
I remap all my games to ESDF, More keys around it for extra stuff.
AZERTY is horrible too.

Interesting how things such as keyboard layouts can provoke such a reaction of indignation and abuse. It's that human mind!
As for me, I'll keep using my good ol' HCESAR.

Holy Fuck, this could actually work.
