Sci-fi is starting to become less fictional.
i like the way they used it for shenanigans
This music sucks
This could be used pretty well in movies. If they just covered it with some alien suit or something. I want one right now.
Pick up that can. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hkCcoenLW4 Oh hey look.
It took them 6 years to get to this point, as the video stated. How do you know they didn't have equivalent of what's in the OP at some point? [editline]11th March 2011[/editline]
DARPA's is better.
This is most probably a school/hobby project of three guys. Darpa probably already sunk millions into theirs.
Actually Billions. They want soldiers who are basically Superman.
Yeah. I am just saying it's mostly incomparable project, while already very impressive on it's own.
Man I swear that looks like an open version of the portal 2 co-op bot.
imagine the halloween costume one could make out of it
Does anyone know what program he's using at 0:58?
Finally, we can formulate a defense against those xenomorphs!
That would be so fun to walk around the city streets in.
imagine the applications for this... with the right skin it could be the best halloween costume ever
For some reason I thought of using this to make midgets tall.
What are the potential uses for it? mind, I would buy one.
Is it just me or does that Exoskeleton look quite simple to build?
Was expecting God damnit now i feel stupid.
I wonder if he has the plans for it available somewhere... it doesn't look too tough to build. Except for the fingers. Those would probably be a pain in the ass.
Agreed, I want schematics
I want to build my own. Then build a just-right-sized shed in my backyard to store it. Every time I'd get it, I'd just walk over the fence into the street. I could scare the shit out of people if I painted it up like it'd been shot at and burnt and stuff, make sort of a glass screen around it, put a bunch of lasers all over it. I can just imagine stopping traffic completely by waddling out into a four-way intersection and pointing my arms at cars like I'm about to blow them up. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] I haven't slept in 31 hours.
I wonder how hard it would be to strengthen this very construction and add servos which would just support your own motion, increasing your power. It might be slowly usable for manual work like construction building or forest work. Or for example firefighters who might use these, asbestos plated, with tanks of liquid nitrogen for cooling, to navigate through burning buildings, searching for trapped people.
Holy shit, firefighter exosuits, that's an awesome idea They'd be much stronger, completely fireproof, and have more oxygen, it'd take half as many firefighters half as long as usual
I wonder if he has the plans for it available somewhere... it doesn't look too tough to build. Except for the fingers. Those would probably be a pain in the ass.
I doubt the fingers would be any different than brakes on a bicycle.
I doubt the fingers would be any different than brakes on a bicycle.
Fingers look like they work on pulleys and fishing wire. I'm definitely going to build this this summer.
if you do manage to build one, make sure to make a thread so the rest of us know how
If I can get the schematics to it or a similar one I know I can get all the materials free from the engineering tech here, looks like it's mostly just metal edgers and PVC pipe. If I can't get the schematics, fuck it, I'm going to be swimming all summer instead.
Exoskeleton is pretty cool, I'd like to know where I could get one of those giant coca colas though!
If anybody feels like looking there's their blog translated using boogle translate.
Drawing up some quick schematics and downloading a 3D modeling program for future development. I'm definitely building this.
I take back everything bad I ever said about Japan because of this.
Holy shit, that's awesome 0_0 "Get away from her you BITCH!"
