I've tried it about 5 times now, and each time I get scared as hell when my body becomes paralyzed and wake up.
I'm not sure if it is Sleep Paralysis, but about a dozen times in the past few years or so I would wake up in the morning without being to breathe correctly. I couldn't speak. However, I could barely move. I could just inch my head a bit to get some air, and after a mere half-minute I would be awake and free. :ohdear:
holy crap, after reading this, i was thinking of this when I went to bed and had the scariest fucking dream ever
I can't do it. I've tried many times and I just end up falling asleep. I've counted to 200 before with no results. How long should I lay there before just giving up?
This happened to me a few times involuntary, not I wasn't scared like fuck or anything though.
i had sleep paralysis once, but there werent any crazy hallucinations or anything. i basically just woke up too fast i guess, becuase i was awake but i couldnt move for a few seconds. i thought that there was something wrong with me or whatever. then i got up and had pancakes!
Been there, done that. I thought the devil had fucking possessed my body and was holding it down, but then I remembered that I was a Christian so that was not possible, lol.
DOSENT work. its bull. i tryed it an hour evry night for a week!. its bull. and im mad cuz i cant stop scratching when im itching and i tryed and i dident scratch and it dident work. im so pissed that i let those scratches away!
alright story time
So I was shit tired, ended up falling asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and I could feel it coming on as I tried to fall asleep again. I remember focusing on whatever closed eye visuals I would see, trying not to focus on my breathing. I would get an itch or an impulse to move, and I would ignore it. Every time it happened it would be stronger, and every time I ignored it the visuals would get a little more common and my body would get more numb. Eventually I heard a rushing noise or something, followed by what sounded like someone punching a paper bag multiple times. (exploding head syndrome?)
I don't remember much after this but I remember having some sort of in-dream anxiety attack or something. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to look at my face, my eyes were all fucked up and I couldn't open them all the way. I forget what happens after this but I wake up, I guess I was having a dream within a dream or some shit.
So now I'm conscious in my bed and still in sleep paralysis, I see some dim faces float around among my visuals. I open my eyes and there's this black dude just staring at me with huge smile. I wanted to talk to him but I got really anxious and closed my eyes, I was afraid it would turn into something scary so I closed my eyes. I wasn't able to move my body but I could wiggle my toes, then my foot, then leg, then I could wake up.
what the fuck awesome
It happened multiple times, maybe 4 or 5 that night. I can't remember anything about them other then that I know that they happened, and that they were all pleasant, not this anxiety/nervousness bullshit from the first one.
tl;dr fuck you
I remember when I was about five, when I first heard of this. My mom had a lot of these when she was pregnaunt with me. She called it, "Hell on Earth"
I'm not doing this

This was recent.
I can no longer do it. I only was able to do the purposeful paralysis twice and now I just sit there and nothing happens. The first time I got scared and the second time it just wasn't as intense.
Anyone have any advice for me?
Somebody help me out, I really want to try this, i've gotton close once but I can;t do it anymore because I have this thing where at night, my mouth makes more saliva than it should so I have to swallow constantly, the swallowing is preventing my body from falling asleep meethinks, any ways to stop this?

Sleep with head to the side, drool on your pillow or something lol
Scared to do this.
But I want to do it.
Oh god, help me.
Two things.
1. Why are black people in so many of these?
2. Is it generally bad or good?
I had this happen to me a couple times...involuntarily.. and also not as hardcore has many other have had
It's pretty fucking creepy being able to open your eyes but not being able to move
THAT, plus seeing some creepy ass figure looking at me would be fucked
I'm having a hard time seeing why people actually enjoy this. more than half the times I sleep on my back I'm paralyzed in dreams. In almost all of the dreams I can't breathe, and my breath always stops when I'm fully exhaled. I can be like this for 30 seconds (it seems like an eternity in the dream). I've also had those ones where you're about to get shot or run over a car or zapped by the scariest mother fucker you've ever seen. I've had that, and actually been shot in the dream. Same with being run over and others that I can't remember off the top of my head. I've woken up with my heart beating faster than any other time I can remember, chest hurting and sweating like a madman. I don't get it :saddowns:
Also never had a lucid dream :gonk:
I remember once as a kid,I was just waking up from sleep.Of course,I didn't realize what was going on,I was probably just like ten or so at the time. Anyway,I opened my eyes...and I remember being unable to move. I thought it was just a part of my dream, even if it was vivid. Then from out of nowhere this figure comes walking towards me,but I can't move my head enough to see it-All I see are these two white hands reaching down to touch me,and I felt like screaming, but I just couldn't wake up...
And then those hands touched me,and they were REAL. I had been watching my mother walk into my room, coming in to wake me up for school like she always did in her sweet 'It's time to get up sweetheart!' way.
Well as soon as she shook me this time I snapped out of it and snapped up sobbing my head off. I don't think she's ever been more confused. And neither have I. I didn't figure out that I couldn't move, not because I was dreaming, but because it was SP for a long, long time.
And then I felt a little less special.
I had a lucid dream...I think..is that where you know your in a dream..I was like fuck yeah! I was in a bath-room like at a casino then started peeing on everyone because I knew I could :P .. Then there was this hot-chick I was about to do..then I woke up :(
It's quite easy to get into sleep paralysis, the hard thing is getting it to be something good instead of bad (scary shit, ect.)
When in sleep paralysis, you need to try a few techniques, a good one would be a SUB (To get into a Lucid Dream)
To do a SUB (Sink Under Bed) you have to keep your eyes closed and get completely relaxed, let your mind think of good things and just let go of all worries.
Then, when fully relaxed, imagine something underneath your bed like a door or a gateway and imagine loads of amazing things there (Something you want your dream to have in it) Then (the hardest part) imagine your body getting heavier as time passes, so heavy that you slowly get the sinking feeling as if you're going into your bed. Eventually, you should be in your dream and doing whatever shit you want.
Only open your eyes when you are certain that you are in your dream.
(This doesn't always work)
If what you are talking about is what i get often. It is a denfence mechinism so you don't hurt your self why your are asleep. When I decide to take naps and when im about to wake up, Im half awake and half asleep
I can't move ,I can't open my eyes,I can't hear, and I can't talk , but my brain is running like it is now.
This is the real way of doing it that really tells how to have " Sleep Paralysis. "
http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/wake-induced-lucid-dreams.html
Close your eyes and lie on your back. Take three deep breaths in and out. Feel your body sinking into the bed, and let go of all the tension in your muscles. Enjoy the feeling of relaxation, and focus on your intention to control your dreams.
Allow any thoughts to pass you by, without interacting with them. Keep your body totally relaxed and still. Repeat over in your mind: "One. The next scene will be a dream. Two. The next scene will be a dream. Three..." etc. This will set your intention and keep your mind alert while your body slowly drifts back to sleep.
After 5-10 minutes you will see hypnagogic imagery. This is the beginning of the dream state! Blobs of color will swirl around behind your closed eyelids. Observe it if you like, but also be aware of other sensations beyond your field of vision. Let your inner voice go quiet. As the dream state deepens, you will be aware of voices and sounds. This is normal - they are coming from inside your own head. Hold on to this state of blissful relaxation, while focusing on your intention to recognize the dream state when it occurs.
Much more on the page :)
Ive had this happen two mornings in a row. Ill "wake up" then try to get up to find I'm still paralyzed.
Its starting to piss me off because I have stuff to do in the morning.
So uh, I must be having this at least every night. When I try to sleep, after a while I always feel like someone is watching me and I rush up to put the light on and shits gone. And I usually just open my eyes and see spiders and shit for like 2 seconds and then they disappear.
I can only remember once when I was 7. I was just on my bed, then I couldn't move but I could hear my mom talk etc. Shits trippy
Sleep with head to the side, drool on your pillow or something lol
ha your avatar fit that post oh so perfectly, but i thought SP only worked if you were on your back.

When it worked for me I found myself with my head to my side at one point.
It hasn't worked for me since, gonna give it another try tonight.
[editline]02:34AM[/editline]
Maybe it's not working because I keep sleeping with my head to my side now, and that was the only exception.
i dont fucking know someone confirm this lol
I don't get it. You can close your eyes, right? And if you close your eyes you shouldn't see any scary shit in you room... cause you can't see your room. Am I wrong?
Also, does anybody know if the chances are big of waking up in SP after you have a MIND-induced lucid dream?
I simply can't hold still for long enough for this to happen (sometimes I just lay down and do absolutely nothing while thinking)
Every so often, maybe after about 5 minutes or so, I'll feel like I'm starting to fall or something and all my muscles will clench up and it feels like I slam into my bed.
I have slept on my arm before and woke up with it feeling like a dead weight as if I'd killed every cell in it. Fucking irritating cuz you can't do shit with it for a few minutes.
