When it worked for me I found myself with my head to my side at one point.
It hasn't worked for me since, gonna give it another try tonight.
[editline]02:34AM[/editline]
Maybe it's not working because I keep sleeping with my head to my side now, and that was the only exception.
i dont fucking know someone confirm this lol
yeah i need confirmation
For FUCKS sake. I keep having to swallow!!!!
guys, your mouth has a reflex that will swallow involuntarily if the back of your throat fills up. lay on your back and let it do the work, and don't let it bother you. try to get used to it
Maybe I had this one time, I also yelled, and realized I did that, and didn't know that. Don't remember what the hell I was yelling at.
So thats what that is! That happened to me when I was 9 or so, a team of at least 10 armed men (assaults)(yes it was this vivid) came into our front door (I can see and hear it from my room because my rooms door was always open) so I'm fucking scared by now, but I haven't tried to move, it was too scary, so then they were taking our furniture like couch and armchair and stuff, afterwards, they came in my room, at which point I heard, "Take care of that one", when I heard that I tried to scream, which was when I realized I was paralyzed, but they all disappeared into thin air like the show supernatural or something, left like an inky cloud of black in the air for a few seconds, and until this day I had no fucking clue what that was!
I would love to have this every night . . .
I followed OPs instructions and I just fell asleep.
when i was young i was sleeping on my stomach in a couch and somehow got stuck with face in the arm rest and could breathe but i also couldnt move some how, my mother had to pull me away so i could breathe and move again. happened several times later but i came loose by my self a few seconds later. i do not know if it is hypnogagia but it was scary as hell.
I don't get it. You can close your eyes, right? And if you close your eyes you shouldn't see any scary shit in you room... cause you can't see your room. Am I wrong?
Also, does anybody know if the chances are big of waking up in SP after you have a MIND-induced lucid dream?
Well, you remember what your room looks like when your eyes are shut.
Also I'm scared to go to sleep now because of this thread. I don't want to see a black man with a huge smile, grudge noises, guys coming to chop my legs off, rotting walls, car crashes, earthquakes etc.
Your all fucking crazy wanting this to happen to you, it's like being paralyzed from the neck down. It happens to me once every few months and I get shakes after I wake up.
Anyone else tried this yet?
I am afraid to, because (this might sound stupid) say if I dream about me seeing my family get killed that image will stick with me and I'll hate it.

it's just a dream goddamn
Hey guys, does 'perfected' count as lucid dreaming 3-4 times per sleep?
Because I just did that the entire week.
I would love to try to put myself into SP, but I'm scared shitless of the dark. Rate me boxes, I don't care, it's not my fault :(
[editline]02:24AM[/editline]
I'm sure you guys have stupid fears too anyway. Maybe I'll try this sometime during the day or something... but I can just imagine the whole room going dark, then some shrouded Freddy Kruger-like figure walking toward me cutting into the wall with his blades
[editline]02:24AM[/editline]
i also have a fear of blades

Also, should I try this? It sounds dangerous.
What's the best way to "snap out of it," as it were?
It's not dangerous, whoever said that is stupid... it's simply very scary and I've had it happen to me several times. In retrospect, what you saw isn't that scary, but while it's happening, your brain must be releasing its "shit your pants" endorphins, because at the time it's scary as fuck regardless of whether you're seeing rainbows or freddy kreuger

I had it involuntarily last night, I panicked a whole lot for like 20 minutes then started seeing things- What snapped me out of it was trying to open and close my mouth alot. :v:
ha your avatar fit that post oh so perfectly, but i thought SP only worked if you were on your back.
I've gotten it leaning against a wall taking a nap at school before by accident. My body was totally asleep, and my mind was awake. It was an unmistakable feeling.
No hypnogagia, though...
I tried this after reading this thread earlier today.
I have previously experienced sleep paralysis but never self-induced it. The first time it happened I was actually laid next to someone, and I was so confused about what was happening to me, it was absolute torture not being able to move or scream, I eventually got myself out of it by just trying so hard to shake my arms.
Another time I was actually so freaked out about it because my vision was acting like a camera zooming in and out at random points in my room, i woke myself up with such force I literally ran INTO my door and hurt myself ha!
I'd say its happened about 10times to me in total, I kinda got used to it after a while, but I usually see giant spiders climbing around my room, which freaks me the fuck out.
So anyway today when I tried it I managed to get to a stage where I felt very heavy and I was having very strange closed eye hallucinations (I have found that I am quite succeptable to hallucinating), but just as I was getting there someone came into my room and distracted me, I'd been laid there for around 40minutes.
I got one of my friends to try it to, and he rang me and said he went into a full on lucid dream (he has never tried anything like this before and was absolutely thrilled), he said he jumped INTO his laptop and was climbing the icons on his screen, but when he jumped on one twice, as if to double click, he said he got too excited and woke up.
Edit: Just another snippet of info for those interested that I forgot to add, I tried the lucid dreaming method as mentioned in another thread (I'll try and find it so I can refer it), and I managed to get into a very "real" dream where I was aware of my actions, I was stood in an open corn field and the sky was pink, and i waved my hands in the air and the sky reacted to this as if i was moving my hands through water, although I soon came out of this because i was very shocked at the detail.
