I've noticed that when I dream about school, the school is always the same in my dreams - but vastly different from real life. It's fun to go exploring in a Lucid dream, there is just so much to do. I just wish there was a better way of recording it, because I forget so much of them...

Exploring is the best fun one can do in a lucid dream. The stuff the brain can create is fucking awesome.
Whenever I have lucid dreams I end up doing random shit that I wouldn't really want to do, I know it's a dream but I'm never even thinking close to clearly. For the past year or so I've pretty much remembered every dream pretty clearly every night as opposed to rarely, this has resulted in a few lucid dreams.

You should plan what you're going to do before you go to sleep, helps alot. Although I often forget that, and just run off to fuck dream-women as soon as I realize it's a dream.
But when I do plan, it can be awesome. One night I decided that if I got a lucid dream, I'd create a button and press it. Just like that, a button which can do anything. I thought I'd let my brain handle what the button actually did. And a lucid dream I got. And I pressed the button as soon as I could. I pressed it three times during the duration of the dream.
1) A huge robot attacked the town, it threw people and cars and crushed buildings, it was awesome, it felt so real.
2) Music started playing.
3) A horde of clones of my sister attacked me and I had to shoot them all to defend myself.
I remember posting this before in a previous dream thread, but I strongly recommend you try creating the "random-button" if you ever get lucid. Shit can be fun.
Oh fuck this happened to me the other night, if I went to take a shit it would trigger a war between me and Dr. Michio Kaku which would ultimately lead to the end of the world.
Also don't get too excited or you'll wake up
Best way to get into a lucid dream from sleep paralysis:
1) relax
2) go with the flow
3) don't get excited/scared or you wake up
When you get in a lucid dream it's usually really fuzzy or dark, atleast for me, so try looking at your hands to get more detail, and try speaking. Helps make it clearer. It sounds strange when said like that but if you ever have a lucid dream, you'll understand how it feels like. It's incredibly annoying when you think "fuck yes lucid dream" and get all pumped up and then feel the dream fade away from overexcitement and then wake up.
This oughta be in the OP
Brb going to bed.
Do you open or close your eyes while doing this?
scary stuff. Like you're on some drug at the end of days.
Sleep Paralysis can occur naturally if you sleep on your back a lot. It's also common to undergo SP if you've just had a Lucid Dream.
Oh shit, that explains why I sometimes have nights in which I can alter anything going on in the storyline, and on the following morning I literally cannot gather the strength to get up unless I'm startled/force myself up somewhat violently. I sleep on my back all the time, which means sleeping with my eyes open will be easier.
That also explains why those kinds of dreams have always felt like being stoned to me. I was mentally awake the whole time.
I just might want to get baked and try this. Problem is that weed already usually raises heart rate past 100, and since this can cause a heart attack, pot hightens that chance.
...Well, if you guys don't see me anymore, you'll know why.
Bloody hell this sounds incredible, fuck drugs when your brain can do this!
Lucid dreams are probably my favourite things ever. Ever.
I remember i once had that feeling of flying, like my limbs where sinking into sand as previously mentioned, that was pretty cool, nothing else really happened though.
Whenever i have a lucid dream i always spoil it by getting excited. The longest i ever had was one where i was standing on a sloped road near a number of parallel water falls. I spawned a ferrari and ramped down the waterfalls. I can tell you, driving a ferrari down some waterfalls in first person is Awesome.
Now, you all appear to be quite good on this subject, so i wonder if any of you could answer a mystery that's been bugging me for years. (to avoid me making a new thread)
One night about 4 years ago, i woke up in a state of absolute terror and panic, to an extent that i've never experienced before. I was shaking a tonne, and couldn't think of anything else other than "Oh shit, Oh shit, this isn't right! This isn't supposed to happen!" I jump off my bed, and grasp my head in my hands, still thinking of nothing other than that. I look around and nothing seems right, like i don't belong. I just started running. I ran from my room to my brothers door, and back, i just kept doing that many times. I just felt completely full of terrified energy. After about 7 minutes I eventually sat down on a small fold-away guest bed in my room and i get the thoughts in my head again.
I quickly run to the stairs and look down, and i don't see the living room across the hall as i usually do, but a Huge space ship (this may be sounding crazy by now but hear me out) It was unbelievably large, with hundreds and hundreds of windows down the side (a little bit like red dwarf somewhat) when i see it i get the thoughts again, and it looks oddly familiar. I mean really bloody familiar. I feel that someone terrible is happening to do with that ship thing. So i run into the toilet and lock myself in, and just sit down in the feutal position just trying to calm down. after about half an hour i finally do, and walk out. I've never felt anything like that before or since, it was absolutely mad.
If anyone could relate to this, or at last give an explanation, that would be cool.
Sorry for going off topic a little. (it seemed to match some criteria in this forum)
Also do you think it may be worth me creating a thread for me to write about another thingamajigg that happens quite often? And sorry for the wall of text.
Wait am i supposed to have my eyes open whilst laying in the bed?
Or should i close them...
This happens to me quite frequently, scary shit is annoying, you are thinking of nice things like girls you like then fucking g-force gets 100x multiplied, you can't move, and all that "oh god what the fuck is happening thoughts", and if you dare to open your eyes, you can see the monster or eyes out of shadow and, not to mention buzzing.
That is reason that I am afraid to sleep alone in dark.

You can keep them open.

Closed ofcourse.. you're trying to get to sleep afterall.
I remember when I was a kid I had this once, laying in my bed unable to move, and then my dog slowly walked into my room, talking.
If it's not a cartoon, talking dogs aren't funny at all.
You can keep them open.
I haven't met anyone who sleeps with their eyes open :v:
Going to try this in a few hours, will post results.
And since im aware of it it might become a lucid dream(?)
I've heard of people going into sleep paralysis after lucid dreaming, i hope i don't

that buzzing means you're a hairs width away from a lucid dream, when you hear that loud buzzing or whirring you should relax and go with the flow. It feels freaky as fuck, like you're falling or spinning or floating, but it's part of the awake-dream transition.
I started to get it once. I was trying to not to move to fall asleep as I was tired but couldn't seem to nod off. I got the tingles and ignored them but once my feet started feeling leaden I flipped out and got rid of it before I started seeing shit. Was not pleasant.
If anyone gets into a lucid dream, here are some tips:
1: To extend the time, think of an object, food or drink that will extend your dreaming.
2: If you want to do something, like fly, rather than being Superman, think of a pill or rocket boots that will allow you to do so.
3: If you feel like you're gonna wake up, think really hard or scream out loud, something like "Be more lucid!"
4: If you wanna wake up, think of a door that would allow you to do so.
Also, having increased dream memory is a huge help, so having a dream journal helps a lot.
I've had this when I had "flu-like" symptoms...
I was 10 and I dreamed about losing a Rune pickaxe from runscape, no-matter how hard I tried to grab it, it just seemed to be unreachable.

trippy.
I have *no* idea if this is related, but it seems so.
I've never experienced this myself, or not as far as I can remember. But I do occasionaly wake up with the idea that I'm falling (out of bed, perhaps?). And then I wake up and nothing happened.

I think it's a reverse thing. You are sleeping but your brain thinks otherwise and it snaps you out from the sleep. I have this thing all the time and it's annoying.
When I tried this I couldn't stop blinking, but no hallucinations or anything
I had this happen once and it was HORRIBLE.
I had it happen randomly one morning, but it was horrible since my face was in the pillow and I heard voices and footsteps outside.....
Oh dear god I remember doing this. I was freaking the fuck out and turned all the lights on in my room even though my brother was asleep.
Figures, I get this but not a lucid dream, great.
Okay, so I was trying to do this with the lights on, and I was staring at the ceiling. After a few minutes I started to just relax my eyes and everything would go blurry, and I wasnt blinking, I started to get this wierd dark flashes over my vision which were getting darker each time. Someone explain this to me? Were my eyes just fucking up? (They ache a bit now) Was i actually blinking but not feeling it or something? Also, should I be doing anything in particular with my eyes?
EDIT: Tryed again, didn't stare at lights this time. Started to get a warm sensation in feet and then legs, that it?
