Even when you know whats happening it can still be scary. The first time it happened to me I didn't hallucinate or anything, I just couldn't move. Fortunately I looked it up and found out it can come with hallucinations because I would've been scared shitless when it happened to me again. The first time I hallucinated, I heard screaming and it felt like someone was shaking me and I felt a hand on my head. I knew that it was sleep paralysis but it was still scary as hell.
Well I guess it depends on the person also, I can't imagine being scared like that. When things like that happen I just laugh them off being it's really apparent to me that what my brain is telling is false, I just can't believe that something like that would happen. It's really about discipline, if you truly believe that's going on it's going to hit you really hard. I'm not saying any thing in a negative manner, it IS a really strange and foreign thing to go through but with enough understanding and practice it shouldn't be as bad as you think it is.
I had one of these as a kid.
Fun fact - Its called Dimethyltryptamine(DMT), its produced by your brain every night, its produced as you dream and just before human death. When sleep paralysis kicks in, you are awake but the DMT is still going, causing you to hallucinate. There is a drug that you smoke thats called DMT that is natural and you can get it from almost every organism but not many people know about it because it is the most illegal substance on the planet, its even more illegal than Heroin and other major drugs, yet all it does is unlock the door for the DMT. I have taken DMT before, and because you do know what is going on and there is so much of it, it will literally make you trip balls but you wont freak out, it is almost 100x more intense than acid and only lasts up to 10 or so minutes until your brain triggers and your body makes it stop. I've seen some intense shit from that, it is pretty much sleep paralysis but a lot more intense and not as scary because its just lots of patterns and shit, but there was, no joke or anything, a buddha or some shit made out of pure energy telling me all this insane shit and made me just sit back and think whoaaaaa.
So does that mean when you die you enter a infinit lucid dream?
So does that mean when you die you enter a infinit lucid dream?
That would make sense..
So does that mean when you die you enter a infinit lucid dream?
That wouldn't surprise me to be honest, even though i am a Christian, and i may sound like a super tripper saying this but this shit made me open my eyes aye, it would not surprise me if we die and we are just on a mad trip and that is why people say they saw the gates of heaven and shit when they where dieing on the operating table and shit like that, because they are just tripping balls and not really seeing it.
I tried it last night and I could feel the paralysis setting in. It felt cold and as if I didn't have any limbs at all. I then heard buzzing noises like a buzz-saw and suddenly I could not breathe. It scared the shit out of me and I immediately snapped out of my stupor. I must try this again tonight.
I've had sleep paralysis before, when I was on the couch and my heart started racing because I thought someone was in my room. I was just wondering, what would exactly happen, if you open your eyes/get up? I wanted to get up but I was scared shitless.
if i try this... note to self. in case of emergency hold breath until body panics and wakes you up from any sort of dream
Did this a few nights ago while on Ambien, and I found myself feeling as though I was in a crowd of people, and then I heard a bunch of screams, then I felt as though my entire bed was shaking. Weird shit, but I'm going to do it again and try to think of the worst thing I can. [editline]07:38PM[/editline]
if i try this... note to self. in case of emergency hold breath until body panics and wakes you up from any sort of dream
You wish you could. You're body will continue to breathe and then you will just be more panicked. It isn't a conventional dream, as you know you are there so you can't do anything. It's hard to explain, so just try it.
Weird shit, but I'm going to do it again and try to think of the worst thing I can.
You're going to deliberately try to scare the shit out of yourself? That doesn't sound fun.
You're going to deliberately try to scare the shit out of yourself? That doesn't sound fun.
Roller-coasters..?
Whoa I am never going to try this since I've never had sleep paralysis and never will want to :( it sounds scary. My friend had sleep paralysis before and heard sliding around above his ceiling.
Did you guys have a 'Exploding Head Syndrome'? I had it a couple of times, and it's far more scary then your average sleep paralysis. http://www.sleepassociation.org/index.php?p=explodingheadsyndrome
I just tried this for the past 20 minutes, I didn't really "get into it" but it's really quite terrifying, even the part where you LITERALLY CAN'T MOVE no matter how hard you try!!! I'm not planning on trying it again. :ohdear:
I think I have had almost similar experiences but I wouldn't call it a lucid dream or hypnogagia.. I think.. Just a few hypnic jerks (one which was so violent I threw myself off my bed).. and maybe some experiences in which I wake up at around 3AM being unable to breathe, clutching my chest, almost like a fish out of water (almost like a HNNNNG moment.. would this be like a heart attack?).. happened to me only about three times over a period of four years.. That was fucking frightening Although neat as it sounds, I don't plan to try this anytime soon
Hey if you could move while you did it what would you do?
I want to do this but I'm too scared? Will I die?
I just tried this for the past 20 minutes, I didn't really "get into it" but it's really quite terrifying, even the part where you LITERALLY CAN'T MOVE no matter how hard you try!!! And then change the subject on something else you'll see, thinking about boning is the best way to get relaxed.
I'm going to try this while listening to trance or something with a fast tempo. :pcgaming:
I want to do this but I'm too scared? Will I die?
I always find myself to have raised heart beat like I was running, but you can easily control it, hold breath for 1 sec and slow down the breathing rate so the heart will not jump out of your chest.
so I just tried this, laid down for 10 minutes, 5 minutes through I was just listening to music, staying still. At first you have a intense urge to move, but if you stay the course you will lose the urge quickly. I then lost feeling in my arms not 100% but i could tell i was entering Sleep paralysis. I moved my finger so slowly, it felt like my hand was asleep but at the same time numb, i did my other hand.. the same.. At the same time I entered a new state of mind, a more creative, happy state of mind.. ( i guess i see why people meditate). I stopped it right there, as I have had one of these before, and freaky shit happens, I didn't want to experience it right now, so I tried to get up... hard at first, i felt heavy... I looked at the clock 10:52.. I got in the bed at 10:36... could of been that long.. but as I type this I looked at my comp clock... it says 10:47... FREAKING SHIT.. Ive read when you're in this kind of state, numbers and text will change.
I want to do this but I am too afraid of what the outcome will be :tinfoil:
the auto come is the color of destiny.
If you want to try lucid dreaming, use some of these wallpapers to do regular reality checks. When you get into the habit of doing so, you could do this in your dream. http://lucidnap.com/blog/6-lucid-dreaming-wallpapers/
I'm just afraid that it will look like this
