I tried this last night but I ended up falling asleep and having a strange dream that I was in a strange Minecraft-like block world and I had to wake up Gabe Newell, who was laying naked in his bed, to change the world.
I don't know why I had this dream. And yes, I distinctly remember Gabe's fat, naked body. I think at one point I even got into the bed with him.
Give me your brain. GIVE IT TO ME.
Real men are blind and have dry eyes. :wth:
Why the fuck was the other thread closed?
I hardly call that a crap thread.
Hell I've seen shit in GD far worse and it didn't get locked.

Do try and comfort him, when he comes in here.
I don't feel like it.
Well, if I'm dead tomorrow, I'll fill a lawsuit agaisnt you... FROM HELL
Tried this again last night, could still feel my toes and fingers though. Then it felt like i kept changing sizes [getting bigger and smaller] and i got scared of what might happen next so i gave up.

Holy shit you had that feeling as well? I had the same, except it was with my head. I got this sense of my head being ridiculously large :ohdear:

Should have relaxed more and calmed down. Would have resulted in a WILD -type lucid dream.
What do I do about itches? I get itches like 30 seconds after going into bed and I can't ignore them forever.

You have to learn to ignore itches. Else you'll never succeed.
It's part of the mental training part of practising lucid dreams. Concentration and willpower.
Last night I tried to go into Sleep Paralysis so I could get a lucid dream. I got the sleep paralysis after 20min, but I couldn't start a day dream. I tried for 40min, then I just snapped out of it and went to sleep. Going to try again today.

I can get into lucid dreams and have had them regulary for around 5 years now, but never experienced SP (afaIk), and the itches just kill me when trying for SP.

I guess you're more of a MILD than a WILD type of dreamer then. Getting from awake to lucid, aka. WILD needs that itching ignoring skill.
The only way I've ever had lucid dreams is through habitual reality checking, never through WILD. I have had sleep paralysis, but only upon waking, not upon falling asleep.
The most reliable type of reality checking for me seems to be plugging my nose and trying to breathe through it.
Had alot of this when I was in hospital for Appendicitis, hurt to move any part of my body, and lying on either of my sides hurt like a bitch. So I was in a dark hospital ward seeing weird faces and shit for 3 days straight, and eventually managed to get a lucid dream out of it. It's unbeleivable how a lucid dream can brighten your day, even if you're stuck in hospital.

Yep. Once you've experienced your first lucid dream, you'll never forget it.
I'm so glad I've never had involuntary sleep paralysis, that would shit me up something fierce. I'm also glad that I know about sleep paralysis too, just so that if I do ever have it I might have some idea what's going on.
It seemed like I had a normal nightmare. Nothing too out of the world or anything like that, but I did shout when I was half awake from my dream thinking there was someone in my room.
it's happened to me once or twice
Going to try this right now. It's 2 am and i was just about to go to bed when i saw this thread. :buddy:

I'll report in tomorrow.
The mind is a scary thing, I am tempted to try this but I don't want anything to go wrong (like never wakening up from that or something) so I would rather not do it.
Tried this for the second time.
So it all went like, I am sleeping, doing the SP thing.
Then some time later I hear some clinging noise, I open my eyes and see the walls getting old, kinda like in silent hill.
Then some faceless humanoid enters my room and cuts my fucking legs off.
Oh god, I was pissing myself in fear. I didn't feel pain, but I felt the knife cutting my flesh, it's kinda like when you're on painkillers, no pain but you feel the pressure.
And ofcourse I couldn't move or scream.
It felt SO realistic, transition was pretty much unnoticeable.
In the morning I was so happy to see my legs.
I think i had a lucid dream when i was a kid, i could fly down the stairs (and not fall down them) - but i'm going to try and lucid dream when i go to bed in a couple of hours

And so, yet another person joins the club of people who shat their pants in sleep paralysis :v:
I get partial lucid dreams. They're quite random but almost always possible in real life. The randomness being slight differences.. like driving my truck in Arica Harbor from Bad Company 2 and trying to get it down the stairs cause we were being shot at and mortared (real life feel, not like the mortar you use in game).
Also, if I lay on my back and slowly sleep.. I feel restless but I also learned how to throw myself into a backward counter-clockwise spiral. I normally stop myself cause I can actually make myself feel slightly nauseous and dizzy but it always gets my interest.
Am I on to something with that? Have I not done it long enough to get the ringing in my ears?
I want to try it but I'm too afraid of those hallucinations. I know that my mind can create fucked up things :v:
if you want to get out of this wiggle your fingers and toes until you have control of your larger muscles.
Is there a way to Lucid Dream without Sleep Paralysis?
